Also fails to mention that they're still going to try to topple local governments (read: Western allies)
the stop interfering basically means "no fair stop helping them"
"U.S. to stop interfering in Muslim education."

Stop trying to blow up/poison/cover in acid/shoot/stone people who want an education solely on the basis that they are female and we can talk. Until then, go fuck yourself. We did a lot of shitty stuff and fucked a lot of people up, the least we can do is safeguard the education system well enough that a new generation is raised to fight for their own rights and recognize your extremist bullshit for what it is. All the effects of infrastructure (re)construction and combat ultimately pale in comparison to the lasting effects of a remotely functional education system, even if the education system only functions for a limited period.
Who's this guy to speak for the entire Middle East?

At any rate, he needs to be clearer in defining his terms.
• U.S. and West to stop intervening in Muslim lands.
Seems fine, but it seems contingent upon a lot of givens.
• U.S. to stop interfering in Muslim education.
And what, pray tell, constitutes "interfering"? Does it include criticism? Does it apply only to Islamic theocracies, or would it be considered "interfering" if evolution remains on the curriculum in, say, the UK?
• U.S. to end the war on Islam.
What. Does. This. Mean?? Specifics, man!
• U.S. to release all Islamist prisoners.
Now we're REALLY into the shit. Are you really asking that we release any US prisoner who claims to be a Muslim, or do you want us to remove them from Guantanamo? WHAT?
At any rate, I'm betting it's the same old shit: Every non-Muslim is judged and condemned according to Islamic laws and traditions, and meanwhile we're not even allowed to publicly criticize you and your bullshit. Two-way street, motherfucker.

It means we must immediately halt our hunt of the militant leader Allah and his second in command, Prophet Muhammad.
• U.S. to end the war on Islam.
What else could "War on Islam" mean?
• Protect legitimate Western and U.S. interests in Muslim lands.
• Stop provoking the U.S. and the West.
1) Man, is that subjective
2) Isn't the lot of Al Qaeda's power based in strong anti-U.S rhetoric and attacks?
I give points for effort, but rainbows for reality
What else could "War on Islam" mean?
War against submission to god
Or does it?
the answer is no
Of course the essentials of war never change, because war has a fairly strict definition. It's like saying 1 + 1 = 2 never changes, it's completely bloody meaningless.

actually, al-Qaeda's main focus has always been local governments. the U.S. is described as the "far enemy" for supporting these secular governments (even though we also support our fair share of crazy theocracies)
