Your average Briton earns £25k, drives a Ford, and calls themselves middle class

I think this days people are calling themselves middle class because they can sometimes afford to buy from the ASDA Chosen by you range instead of Smart Price
I'd be interested to see what the modal wage in the UK is, it'd be likely to be closer to 15-16K because a huge amount of people work at the low end of the service or retail sector, and hell the low end of the care sector.
this average is kind of silly because really you're going to have the vast majority of people earning something like £10-18,000, if that, but then you're going to have mad numbers in their hundreds of thousands messing up that calculation
Drives a Ford? Really? Or is this a joke or something? Didn't think they were popular outside of the US, heh :v:
They're a great car for just about anything, from what I understand.
Being working class is shameful in todays world.
you can find the opposite in so many middle-class subcultures where people propagate this weird pretend working-class thing where everyone is an 'artist' and does their best to look homeless
Funny because 40% of my city is classed as in poverty, so the south just seems to be made of gold for me.
I'm in that 40% though :(
