But why, though?
Because it annoys me how it's expected that my entire life should revolve around it, it would take a lot of pressure off of people if the world was less sexualised.

um. did nobody in elementary school watch videos that basically told a boy/girl what their own body parts are for? basically that's all this does.
um. did nobody in elementary school watch videos that basically told a boy/girl what their own body parts are for? basically that's all this does.
I didn't get formal sex education until about year 9. I don't know what grade that translates to in the US system but I would have been 13-14. Of course I already knew the basics before that but I wasn't shown anything in school until then.
it was 4th or 5th grade for me so i was something like 9-11 it wasn't the full sex ed agenda, though. it was more just explaining the basics like "this is called a penis ok cool" and didn't even get into the opposite sex at all
and then world population grew even faster than normal
To be fair, SexEd for 6 year olds sounds fucked up and wrong
Well think about it as a way to prevent pedophilia. If the child has foreknowledge about all the parts and what they do, they'll probably know what to do when they get assaulted. (the answer is run away)
These guys need to get laid.
You know, I didn't even remember that I had a sex ed class in 5th grade (I only remember the 9th grade one). The only thing - the ONLY thing - I remember about my 5th grade sex ed class was during the Q&A, someone asked the teacher if sex felt good. The teacher began to beat around the bush for about two minutes before he finally kinda deflected the answer: "Well, err, uhh, ahh, well, when you're ahh, uhh, with someone who, ahh, well, you really like, ahh, and you, err, ahh, next question please?" :v:
6 is too early anyway.
They're told how babbies are formed etc. I think a lot of parents don't want to talk to their kinds about this stuff, so teaching them in school is a good idea. When we had Sex Ed in school it was quite late since you already knew everything before that(We were 15)
I missed sex ed. Good ol' Internet taught me it all, and more.
i was like 12 i think when we started we got dildos to play with :D
We had to put expired condoms on plastic penises supplied by the NHS
Well think about it as a way to prevent pedophilia. (the answer is run away)
I like the first half of your reply, but the 2nd half has me scratching my head a bit. I agree that knowledge is power for self-defense, but I think just telling a kid what each part of the body does isn't going to prevent assault. I think enforcing the theme that "You have the right to do what you want with your body and no one can do otherwise," along with proper anatomy education is going to prevent assault. You can't "prevent" pedophilia anyway. You can prevent assault. You can't prevent a fetish if it's a natural occurrence. [editline]25th November 2011[/editline] Also where I grew up, we were lucky to have decent Sex Ed, but it was sort of lame. I remember learning about the interior female anatomy, but it wasn't until 8th grade that we ever even touched on birth control. Wasn't until Senior year that a teacher even brought in a condom or other forms of birth control, and by then what's the point since pretty much everyone has at least a.) been in a relationship, or b.) done their own outside research. Abstinence education is really weak too; all of the programs in NJ are extremely vague.
This is one of those things with a long-term objective: to cause future generations to be less shy about sex so that in a few generations time people will openly be able to talk about sexual topics with any kind of social taboo.
Nothing excites me more than using kids to push social agendas!
Nothing excites me more than using kids to push social agendas!
Eh? Then I guess pushing for public schools teaching kids to read and write early with the agenda to raise national literacy rate, thereby the nations social and intellectual standard, is wrong too?
Teaching Sex Ed is okay but seriously? Fucking 6 years old?
If you ask me, it's better they be slowly and gradually educated about it properly in the classroom early on, rather than having a heavily distorted and incorrect explanation of sex taught to them by their pupils on the the school bus in 3rd grade.
Eh? Then I guess pushing for public schools teaching kids to read and write early with the agenda to raise national literacy rate, thereby the nations social and intellectual standard, is wrong too?
There's a huge divide between having a literate population and deciding that in the future we must all be more open about sex so have teacher lecture on it to six-year-olds.
There's a huge divide between having a literate population and deciding that in the future we must all be more open about sex so have teacher lecture on it to six-year-olds.
Only you completely don't understand what the fuck he's saying.
Nothing excites me more than using kids to push social agendas!
Is what he was responding to. I will highlight specifically what he was contending, just in case you still don't understand.
Nothing excites me more than using kids to push social agendas!

There's a huge divide between having a literate population and deciding that in the future we must all be more open about sex so have teacher lecture on it to six-year-olds.
Being more informed about relationship, feelings and sex is a good thing no matter what planet you're on, just the same as a higher percentage of literacy is a universally good thing. Knowledge is power.
Being more informed about relationship, feelings and sex is a good thing no matter what planet you're on, just the same as a higher percentage of literacy is a universally good thing.
No I got the basic one when I was about 10, but missed the really awkward one that most people had at 14 where they put condoms on whatever object they used. Not really the kind of thing I want to be taking part in around a load of 14 year old boys.
This was hilarious in my class, afterwards they gave us condoms and everyone turned them into balloons in the halls. Condoms everywhere
