so because gay people are bad according to rappers they are lying about liking gay people
that makes 0% sense
It makes sense from their perspective, which is keeping as many buyers as possible. Lying is an easy way to leave things ambiguous enough for you to do so while also leaving yourself an opportunity it sneak-diss gays later on in a song. It also lets you retaliate if another rapper bashes you for it, which can be seen as a form of protection to their own image.
Hip-Hop and Rap are a long way from ever accepting gays, and the only rapper that I know of at this moment that's truly accepting of them is Nicki Minaj, who is one amazing-ass artist.
Too much autotune for my taste, but nonetheless good for him
He doesn't use autotune (except for effect but that's rare) the song's been pitch-shifted lower so it's not taken down.

He's seriously one of the greatest singers of the past few years imo. Crazy talent, can see him chart-topping in the future. he's already done two songs for Jay-Z and Kanye West on their Watch The Throne collab which is huge. Just a matter of time before he gets real mainstream success.
Good for him. He's a great artist by the way, awesome songs and great lyrics.
This is a good song of his:

what?
one of the status quo's of hip-hop is homophobia. if they didn't want to offend anyone and lose sales, why would they be pro-ssm?
Fantastic voice on the guy.
awesome artist, cool guy and fine as hell

Because no one is going to change their opinions of Jay-Z or Kanye anymore? They've become common names and I seriously doubt them saying they support anything gay-related is going to bring their sales down by much. In reality, they'll make bank doing anything, might as well try to appear as progressive as possible in a changing market that caters to progressive people. Besides, Jay-Z is more of a hip-pop artist as opposed to hip-hop, and can't really be considered a good representative of it anymore.
Now, if someone like Nas gave out his support, or someone with his credentials, then that would be a good step forward. Or if by some crazy chance DMX decided to show support, well, then that's probably the biggest step.

Come on, he loves gays, just look at what he says:
Last I heard, y'all niggas was havin' sex, with the same sex
I show no love, to homo thugs
Empty out, reloaded and throw more slugs
How you gonna explain fucking a man?
Even if we squashed the beef, I ain't touching ya hand
I don't bunk with chumps, for those who been to jail
That's the cat with the Kool-Aid on his lips and pumps
I don't fuck with niggas that think they broads
See? DMX is fucking hilarious sometimes.

What are you basing that on? You're saying Jay-Z and Kanye have made a conscious decision to appear pro-SSM to increase appeal. That's a big, cynical, and presumptuous argument. It would be a better decision for them to not voice their views on the matter at all. Less risk business-wise and less "vulnerability" from other rappers lol wow.
In practice, artists like Jay-Z and Kanye, who are currently very popular, would have a greater positve impact than artists like Nas or DMX who haven't had nearly the same amount of success recently. But to be honest I don't think it matters which hip-hop artist makes for the most "intense" support because more importantly, any support would be a milestone in and of itself in the hip-hop world!
we will now go to tyler, the creator for commentary
Fucking Finally Sus Boy @frank_ocean Hahahaha, You Still Aint Got No Bitches Hahaha My Nigga Dawg
thank you, tyler
like he said in Oldie,
"I'm high and I'm bye, no wait I'm straight..."
dammit, now the meaning of all his songs changes..
Same thing happened with Elton John.
like he said in Oldie,

I'm high and I'm bi, wait I mean I'm straight

I can't stand Nicki Minaj. And I'd make the argument that rap's acceptance of gay people is no worse than rock, electronica, whatever

the title is sensationalist bullshit but what he's saying is important
Am I the only one who finds it odd that being gay is something that has to be announced? Then become national news. It's not really going to change anything at all.

I don't find it odd, you presume that all people are straight until they say otherwise.
And, people do care whether or not you're gay so it is important to say that you are!

Difference between people do and people should/shouldn't is huge.

Everyone should take a listen to his mixtape. It's really good and free.

Besides being a talented artist himself he also has a surprisingly large presence in the industry. He's written a lot of songs for people like Justin Beiber.

Shiiiiiiiiit I had completely forgotten about his new album.
Well if it's anything like nostalgia ultra, I'll be listening to nothing else for a week straight.
