the fact of the matter is that you have no idea if more teens are going to have access to marijuana simply because it's being unregulated.
Uh... Are you actually serious? It's not just being decriminalized but it's basically unregulated. That means the availability of pot is going to sky rocket. The prices are also almost certainly going to drop if they're currently $3000/lb. since people can legally grow it. Try thinking things through a little more logically.
But because alcohol is regulated it's still pretty difficult for underage people to get their hands on it. You'll never make it impossible but you can at least make it difficult. And the current regulations on the law that just passed in Oregon are so lax that it's not going to make it any more difficult at all. If anything it's actually going to make it easier.
Legalizing it might actually make it harder for underage people to get. When I was 14, I could have holla'd any number of dealers and gotten blazed, it was way harder to get someone to buy cigarettes or booze for you, and none of us could get served.

You're assuming people who grow marijuana are inherently immoral / lack ethics. (Which I find offensive) People brew their own beer? I don't see people selling home brewed beer to children. Homebrewing is also unregulated. A massive majority of people who grow are for sure not going to sell to children but the small minority who are going to sell to children, already were before the legalization. Nothing will change. I'm not sure what some of you aren't getting, you're completely speculating.
EDIT: If in the following months a study comes out showing that an increase of children are smoking marijuana (even by .0001%) in Oregon I will never post again in Sensationalist Headlines.
I actually voted against this though I'm all for legalizing pot. They have very very lax limitations on it. It should be at least as regulated as alcohol.
this is hilarious

This is an incredibly high quality and productive post. For a second there I actually thought I was in fast threads.
Washington legalized pot before it was cool.
Take that Portland hipsters

It'll only get weirder

i'll never understand why people care about the intellectual quality of posts that vanish constantly from from memory after like 24 hours of constantly reading thousands of people's bullshit opinions. you're all young, don't you people have like seminar classes to take seriously? papers and professors/teachers to work off your intellectual insecurities?
if it makes you feel any better the regulation is going to have to come after the fact, just like washington and your comparison to liquor laws is particularly funny because oregon has antiquarian and incredibly conservative liquor laws that ultimately are undercut by the fact that the US in general has massive amounts of underage drinking
And then there were 47
46* Alaska also just legalized marijuana.

Why not just choose not to post instead? The post provides literally nothing of value to the thread and the thread has already kinda devolved into arguing because one person had an unpopular opinion anyways.
yeah it was you

you literally shot yourself and everyone else in the foot by voting the way you did despite ostensibly being in favor of legalisation, it's just funny
