You hear that Microsoft? THE PAIN TRAIN HAS ONLY BEGUN
maybe devs will release games with graphics settings lowered on xbone so they literally look worse. that would be so awesome
The good thing about the ps4 is 1 time online payment. The bad thing about xbox one is constant payment.
The good thing about the ps4 is 1 time online payment. The bad thing about xbox one is constant payment.
But...what?
The good thing about the ps4 is 1 time online payment. The bad thing about xbox one is constant payment.
The PS4 is a renewing payment...
The PS4 is a renewing payment...
Oh not really a play station fan
The good thing about the ps4 is 1 time online payment. The bad thing about xbox one is constant payment.
What? You have to pay a subscription it isn't a one time payment. The power of the systems are about the same and developers will build so that both systems are equal because its easier to develop that way. Unless its an exclusive they will look and play the same.

When people say Microsoft won the last generation, I hope they're talking about quantity rather than quality because the Playstation 3 has dozens upon dozens of amazing "must play" exclusives with the multi-platform while the Xbox has the multi-platform games... And Halo, Gears of War, Forza... Viva Pinata?

I find it funny that Sony basically swept the conference and won over almost every person at their E3 panel, yet Microsoft's Phil Spencer claims that "They'll buy anything." when it comes to the core Xbox gamers. So, the humble Sony claiming it hasn't won when arrogant Microsoft claims it's consumers will buy anything. Anyone else find that ironic? :v:
In this generation I think exclusives won't count as much as in the last one, because almost all of the big franchises right now are multiplatform; just look at the best-selling games of 2012
1. Call Of Duty: Black Ops II – Multiplatform 2. FIFA 13 – Multiplatform 3. Assassin’s Creed III – Multiplatform 4. Halo 4 – Xbox 360 5. Hitman Absolution – Multiplatform 6. Just Dance 4 – Multiplatform 7. Far Cry 3 – Multiplatform 8. FIFA 12 – Multiplatform 9. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Multiplatform 10. Borderlands 2 – Multiplatform
Although exclusives are still important, I don't think they're the absolute holy shit make-or-break huge deal that people are making them out to be. But Halo is pretty much the only really big exclusive right now, and it could be a big advantage for Microsoft (also ALL the best selling games of 2012 were sequels, fuck this industry)
Every gen, Nintendo is this Asian Buddhist monk sitting on the sidelines, not screaming its name or putting up a fight, just going with the flow, and allowing its console to sell itself by its own merit and by nintendo's good reputation. They know they built the videogame industry once, and they could do it again if they wanted to.
if publishers force "always on" on sony (ie a scenario where EA or Activision wont put games on PS4 without online passes, used game restrictions, etc, a situation that is much more likely than you might expect) and they have to flip flop, it will be their end
Would be a loose-loose situation for the publishers, as if sony tells them to fuck off, seeing as few people will be buying the xbox one, they end up forcing themselves to be on a failed console
They don't even need to do shit Just release a few Mario games here, and LoZ game there and boom, best selling console
Hopefully something as lazy as that isn't enough to give the Wii U an edge, if anything is wrong with the industry, it's Nintendo's shit and the people who buy it.
Hopefully something as lazy as that isn't enough to give the Wii U an edge, if anything is wrong with the industry, it's Nintendo's shit and the people who buy it.
Except Nintendo doesn't release shit, they're decent games for anyone who enjoys them, and besides they don't pull off stupid shit toward their consumers. So what if they live off of overused IP's, how is that hurting the industry?
(also ALL the best selling games of 2012 were sequels, fuck this industry)
(Exactly like most movies that do well. There's nothing wrong with sequels if they are handled well enough).
(Exactly like most movies that do well. There's nothing wrong with sequels if they are handled well enough).
The first sequal is always gonna have more potential to be successful than a new title.
Hopefully something as lazy as that isn't enough to give the Wii U an edge, if anything is wrong with the industry, it's Nintendo's shit and the people who buy it.
I hope Nintendo becomes a bit more relevant in the next cycle of consoles instead of just doing their own thing. There's nothing wrong with what they are doing, but a bit more competition would keep Sony and MS a bit more honest.
I like how Sony was getting their ass kicked last gen and the whole time they were acting like arrogant douchbags and pretending they were actually winning Now that they have this gen almost in the bag and are nearly guaranteed at least second place they're actually being humble Is this normal when it comes to large companies?
I hope Nintendo becomes a bit more relevant in the next cycle of consoles instead of just doing their own thing. There's nothing wrong with what they are doing, but a bit more competition would keep Sony and MS a bit more honest.
Yeah, Nintendo might outsell Sony and MS but they're not really true competitors since Wii and Xbox/PS appeal to different audiences.
What? When did Sony ever act arrogant? If anything Microsoft was the one being arrogant.
The PS3 launch.
what drm does bf3 have...
what do you mean what DRM does it have? it doesn't fucking launch outside of a browser, it's literally always online. [editline]17th June 2013[/editline]
It couldn't even max Source 2007 @ 720p
wasnt optimized that great, honestly.
Anyone else sick of this bullshit too?
The 360 and PS3 are different than One and 4. The 360 more or less won because it was cheaper, and when it came to gaming and functionality, was the same, if not better in some ways Now, though. the PS4 is cheaper, better hardware, not restricting everything you do. You basically BUY an Xbox One, then RENT everything you do with it, and only if certain conditions are met can you even do that. Not with PS4 Sony won, face it

Not with PS4 Sony won, face it
The 360 blocked you from using most every online feature without a subscription, had worse hardware than the PS3, and a fuckload of the original Phat models would overheat and render the console useless. You needed to either send it back to get it "fixed" or fix it yourself and void the warranty. The hard drive space on the console without any sort of expansion was absolutely abysmal and hard drives costed tons of money. Despite the fact that it is shown off in a vertical position, and looks better that way, they tell you to not do that because of damage to disks. Memory units were proprietary and if they break, you are 110% fucked. USB flash drives can possibly be recovered, proprietary shit cannot. 2 out of the 5 Phat models didn't have HDMI, so your games had to be played in a low quality on those models. The powerblock was, and is, absolutely massive and also proprietary. The original dashboard was notably slow even at launch and wasn't the greatest to navigate. Windows Vista and XP looked far better than the original dashboard. Xbox Live was a gamble on if your internet would help you our hurt you when trying to host a game. It also cost money to play multiplayer games or chat with your friends which was absolutely shit. The "backwards compatibility" was basically an emulator that got worse as the console went on. Some major games, like Halo or Forza 2, would have major problems that would essentially ruin the experience. The backwards compatibility couldn't be used with Xbox Live so you either had to keep your Xbox Original or just deal with living without Halo 2 for 2 years. It was also loud as all hell despite the fact that the fans did fuck all. Am I missing anything? Not talking about new things like the Kinect or NXE/Kinect Dashboards. The 360 was absolutely shit and the PS3 was considerably better last generation. The only thing that held it back was the lack of games, price, and glossiness/bulkiness of the thing.

[editline]17th June 2013[/editline] though you can't play online without the browser, but that isn't really a problem I don't think
