You will also be glad to hear that we have removed 47’s magic pockets. We believe that’s all we need to say about that subject.

fuck yeah, now all i need is more freedom in the levels and the extra touch of humor like Blood Money.
Redesign the disguise system when you are on it as well.
The disguise system in Absolution was broken because enemies could recognise you through masks, but it was cool that people would recognise you if you took a disguise similar to what their job was, like a biker recognising you aren't part of the gang, or how if they could only see the back of your head they wouldn't recognise you.
The disguise system in Blood Money was cool because the more authority your disguise would have allows you more access to areas, but it basically functioned like a keycard which made it feel very artificial.
This new game should blend the two and have masks actually disguise your identity.
I don't see being a professional assassin as being guns blazing, I see it as being methodical in your approach, one shot, one kill and getting out before anyone figures out what happened.
My favorite was the spa level where you had to rig three separate accidents and get out.
As far as I'm concerned, if you're going guns blazing, you're playing the game wrong. :v:
I think they mean how you can carry 5 pistols and 10 SMG's, alongside 6 syringes and binoculars.
You could carry as many pistols and one handed SMGs as you wanted in every Hitman game. In Absoluion you would hid rifles in your pocket, which is just silly, it isn't a fast paced FPS.

All I need now is the "pour ether on panties" button.

Reminds me of the "How not to play Hitman" series back in 2006.
I like how io is so open with their fans and they're listening to the mistakes of absolution.

I'm confused as go why Diana is still your handler. Does this take place before absolution?
Also I hope they don't cover up his signature bar code the whole game like absolution

I'm not sure I remember this correctly, but I recall the mask of a disguise disappearing when you stole the disguise from someone? I remember that it happened in the orphanage at least, and that it annoyed me.

If you steal the ICA heavy trooper's disguise you get a full facial mask that they can still see through for some reason

[sp] She's alive at the end of Absolution. 47 shot her in non-critical areas.I suppose.[/sp]
I hope they don't get too much into like a Agent 47 chasing someone story.
It was fun just being a super assassin taking down scumbags.

It has happened on multiple occasions. Also remember that the entire time she was working for the Agency, even through her supposed betrayal. It was a plan by the higher-ups to expose Benjamin Travis's corruption and secret dealings within the Agency.[/sp]
I hope they don't get too much into like a Agent 47 chasing someone story.
It was fun just being a super assassin taking down scumbags.
You kinda had an overarching story like that through Blood Money, but it wasn't the focus, it was an arch that you only got snippets of until basically the last mission of the game.
My favourite part of Absolution was how all the guards you'd eliminated would respawn if you restarted.
You're reading into it way too much, man. I think it's just to signify that 47's going to be going to different places all around the world like the first 3 games. It's concept art (or possibly from a cutscene)
IMO an international airport would be a great interlude area to start, receive and finish missions.
Everyone's anonymous and busy in airports, so you could quite easily slip around unnoticed. You could be living in the airport hotel where you've established a base of operation.
You meet someone at the airport coffee shop, receive your mission & tickets, and go through check-in desk to your mission location.
First mission could basically take you through checkout/security and into the duty-free and onto the plane which could work quite well as an orientation/ tutorial.
You know, Hitman 2 tried to do a similar thing to Absolution where you chased someone throughout a portion of the game, and it was fucking horrible.
The Japan levels in Hitman 2 are literally the reason I broke my first PS2 controller and why there's a dead pixel in the center of my old TV because the goddamn fucking ninjas in those levels were the most fucking insane bullshit I've ever seen.
Hitman 2 did NOT fuck around by any standards, if you didn't step up and meet what the game wanted you to, it would not let you get any further. It grabbed you by the throat and went "NO. NO FURTHER. STEP THE FUCK UP OR GO PLAY MEDAL OF HONOR INSTEAD." Very challenging and oh so satisfying when you pulled it off, but good christ the ninjas, they pissed me off so hard.
Prior to Contracts, actually, the series had a pattern of 2-3 missions beforehand where you'd build up to taking out the target. The jungle missions in Codename 47 are a major example (and probably the worst levels in that game, even if killing Pablo Ochoa is fucking boss.)
Hope they officially retcon Absolution because I know I pretend it doesn't exist.
I don't reccommend Codename 47 to anyone nowadays though. It's aged terribly, and was even slightly dated when it came out.
[editline]beans[/editline]
Well shit. RIP automerge.
I/O went into a sort of decline after Kane and Lynch, which was why Kane and Lynch 2 dog days and Absolution were just like, unfocused.
Literally all the senior staff that had been there for a decade left the company and founded the studio making heroes and generals.

Contracts was basically a semi official remake. And yeah, I feel like they sort of should, or at the very least, make it so that Diana is Diana and not some chick named Diana.
[editline]16th January 2014[/editline]
Like, Absolution wouldn't have fucking happened plotwise since Diana fucking owns the Agency; having restarted it after its collapse in bloodmoney.

Have fun even getting it to run (properly) these days.
Like I mean. The agency's HQ is in Denmark, I don't know why they would have so much stuff in the Dakotas and Chicago.
[editline]16th January 2014[/editline]
Absolution has so many holes in it that can be found just by looking at it and thinking, wait why?
[editline]16th January 2014[/editline]
I really want to know what the meeting was like.
"Were going from a super exotic, transnational sort of adventure with a lot of really neat locals, to a small town in the Dakotas."
Have fun even getting it to run (properly) these days.
You have to actually use cheats just to get it to run at a proper speed, and IIRC that doesn't fix the cutscenes.

I think setting your CPU to only use one core in the task manager also fixes that issue sometimes.

Dunno, I liked absolution and it didn't have any major differences from the other games.
Dunno, I liked absolution and it didn't have any major differences from the other games.
It had massive differences. What are you talking about?
I'll be happy as far as there won't be any garrote-immune Mexican amazing hulks and shit like that.
One thing I absolutely loved though: Being able to incapacitate foes without killing them using your hands. That was something that always bugged me is it was either garotte everyone or stick them with the syringes. And I loved doing tricky things with the syringes instead of having to just stick people. So being able to knock someone out without them was nice. Syringes must come back though so I can poison more donuts.
Also, keep the throwing system, its just hilarious. There is something magnificent about hurling a fireaxe in a flat arc and watching it track a guy and nail him in the back.

Seriously, if he hadn't fucked with that guy and just done his job, then things would've been great.
I really enjoyed Absolution and got a lot of hours out of it, but yes the disguise system is fucking dumb
Not only can you be seen through masks but sometimes when you get a disguise that has a mask 47 will choose to not wear it

throwing syringes into guards eyes everyday
Really though, I still load up Absolution occasionally now just for the purpose of running around levels killing everything with nothing but melee weapons and other hilarious things like the landmines.
