The particles being observed are so small, that the mere act of interacting with them in any way (including looking at them) will change them.
This could be used to "hide" the particles from the rest of the universe for long enough for them to be useful in actually calculating something.
This would make current processors look like they were made by throwing rocks at a piece of sand from several miles away.
And all of a sudden I am reminded of Warehouse 13
