Link never had pink hair. His hair (i always assumed it was the rim of his hood as a kid) is pink because his sprite shares the colour palette of his Dark World rabbit form. Here's some of the official artwork.
It's pink in-game so it's pink to me god dammit
I dunno, it'd be pretty weird if zelda was a girl
[t]http://www.kasuto.net/twilight_princess/official_art/tp_art_link03.jpg[/t] And here is another Link character clad in blue and here is another Link in white and Wind Waker's Link also wore blue I highly doubt they've changed things around. It's been Link every single game since the start. But the more I look it, the more I start to see the femininity in "Link." S/he even has some "development" befitting of a young woman.
isn't that first one just links clothes from TP before he finds the hero's tunic
Personally, I think it's Link and I think it's a dude. I would like for it to be for the sake of preserving the integral lore of the series but with that being said, if it was a new character or a female Link, it wouldn't be a deal breaker or anything, I'm sure I'd still love the game and everything, I just hope that there's a damn good reason for it that is underlined in the game and not just "LOL ur a girl now because we're progressive and totally not sexist buy our game girlzz" which seems to be a sad trend now. (look at the shit ubi is getting for not having a female assassin in asscreed unity) If you want to make a game with a good female character, great, the industry could use more real solid female characters, but don't just shoehorn in a gender swap in an already rooted series for the sake of trying to be "PC" [editline]banana[/editline] and I was right go blog about it
go to bed dobson
But I'm not tired D:
Maybe its going to be something along the lines of a different character being the "hero", as far as in game events are concerned. And that games version of Link just happens to be along for the ride, yet actually the "hero" as far as the player is concerned. Or perhaps this version of Link is a dick and its a "you are the bad guy" scenario. Comedy Answer: Following suite from Smash Bros., Pac-Man is actually the hero.

It's not like it'd negatively impact anything, and it'd be kinda different. So hey, go for it I say. i mean link is already a total waif to begin with
I get the feeling he's implying that that particular character isn't Link. As in you still play as Link, but this is just another character in the game.

I'm not a huge Zelda buff, but what's stopping this game from being a separate timeline or a separate world about a separate Link just like most of the games are? I mean Wind Waker Link isn't Ocarina of Time Link isn't Twilight Princess Link sooo... Just this time Link's female.
What about Ms. Pac-Man? :v:

Why would it be that much of an issue exactly?

This character is just a girl. i just think it would be cool for it to not be a big deal whether a character is a manly looking woman or a womanly looking man. I don't want a game about fighting cis privilege, I just want it to be okay for things to be different sometimes in my vidya games.

Considering that in Twilight Princess its established that one Link failed, and a Link to the Past and is a branch of the Ocarina of Time events where the Hero of Time is defeated by Ganon. And females do occur in the wild and are amazingly enough capable of being heroes.
I wouldn't be surprised if they made Link a female and I think it would be refreshing. Old Link looks like art from a D&D rulebook. Newer incarnations of Link have him looking more androgynous.

He's the reincarnation of the original hero of the series, who actually hasn't been touched on yet as far as I know. Though again, I personally wouldn't care that much if they did make Link a grill as long as it is explained why/how. I wouldn't care about it being a girl as long as it is explained, that is literally all I have said. And also, about the different Links thing, see top. (and the rest of you too, not going to quote everybody when you're all basically saying the same thing)
I personally wouldn't care that much if they did make Link a grill
No thanks. Too many modern games have half-assed crafting/cooking mechanics that don't add anything.
What if it's this timelines version of Tetra?
No thanks. Too many modern games have half-assed crafting/cooking mechanics that don't add anything.
girl link = crafting mechanics/cooking system did you reply to the wrong person or are you implying something here sir

The only ones who look similar are Skyward Sword and Twlight Princess Link, and this one if this is indeed Link. All the other Links look pretty different.

don't even fucking deny it, that's fucking girl link
Also, reposting this from the thread in VAFM.
I got a few pictures from the trailer. These first two might show a slight bust on the character: [thumb]http://u.cubeupload.com/Coldmute/HBh6vg.png[/thumb] And these show that there is no sword to be found on this character. [thumb]http://u.cubeupload.com/Coldmute/EV7FVC.png[/thumb] (They were bigger than I thought.) [editline]11th June 2014[/editline] Seriously though. Nintendo, if I get to play a female Link or Heroine Zelda, I will go buy a Wii U immediately upon confirmation (if I have the money, so it probably won't happen immediately.)

don't even fucking deny it, that's fucking girl link
I think it's probably a girl, the question is if it's Link or not. The lack of a sword and the preference of a bow muddies the waters even more
If you think about it, giving a reason for the hero to be a girl would actually be less progressive, because it suggests that it isn't normal for women to be heroes.
Link usually looks pretty different. The only ones who look similar are Skyward Sword and Twlight Princess Link, and this one if this is indeed Link. All the other Links look pretty different.
he is a blond (medium length) haired boy with exaggerated bangs and a green tunic in literally every game, and difference in looks can be associated to the chosen art style, but even then they are very very slim.
