like this AKA organ squeezing corsets, and over sized hot dresses, lead makeup.
Right, forgot about that
What, like being fat?
uh being fat was considered a sign of the elite, and fat women still had to maintain their beauty while demonstrating that they are well fed and part of the elite. this of course was completely limited to western culture in the middle ages and the renaissance. roman on the other hand quite disliked obesity.
I swear I thought this was about the T-Shirt airbrushing thing.
uh you're kidding right? anorexic models is actually a step up from the ridiculous things women had to do to look pretty centuries earlier.
That's irrelevant...
That's irrelevant...
it's irrelevant that the media and fashion industry is simply continuing previous standards incorporated with light touches of post-feminism? if you say so...
All of the issues with airbrushing can be combated with proper education.
All of the issues with airbrushing can be combated with proper education.
Proper education? Haha what a joke. We'd rather think of the children and ban everything instead of actually doing something productive like educating them
I thought airbrushing simply made the skin look nicer, what does it have to do with weight loss? If anything it feels more like an incentive to use lots of lotion.
It'd be nice to have a disclaimer that yes, the models are fake as shit and that even people who spend their lives trying to live up to some ideal body figure cannot do it without the help of good ol' Photoshop.
For a little bit I had really mild anorexia. It started out with a decreased appetite, and as it progressed I asked myself why I wasn't eating and realized that I was doing it to be thin. It's a really slippery slope.
unnaturally thin is absolutely revolting. A little wee bit of fat never harmed anyone. [thumb]http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljb84xC8Rd1qglg5ro1_500.jpg[/thumb] as for overweight models, well, that's alright. Because she looks good, and is something that ACTUALLY exists and is ACTUALLY pretty considerable healthy, not some "Super model" who in reality would probably look like
Skin that smooth and no cottage cheese on a woman that fat? I don't think so tim. Also photoshopped. Ban everything.
That whale isn't healthy and neither is the other one
this i fucking hate that landwhales try to use anorexic models as an excuse for their fattiness.
J!NX stop posting, you clearly have no idea how much publicity has an influence on the human mind, on your mind too.
I don't like the way advertising works one bit but banning anything really doesnt sit well with me.
That whale isn't healthy and neither is the other one
Yeah, you're point is moot when you refer to a woman as an animal.
Yeah, you're point is moot when you refer to a woman as an animal.
While it's stupid of him to refer to the woman as a whale, that doesn't actually make his point moot. Neither of those women have a healthy body, and nothing we call them is going to actually change that.
They don't use fat people for ads because they can't fit into the shot.
J!NX stop posting, you clearly have no idea how much publicity has an influence on the human mind, on your mind too.
I already explained the 1st page I was being dumb lol and the media doesn't do shit to my mind because I ignore the media, I know already most of the craps genuinely fake. Maybe it does it a little, but just no. not only that but you're going to just say "stop posting" with zero explanation at all?
These photoshopped pictures make me feel bad, ban them! Honestly, if you're dumb enough to buy into that kind of advertising...
Teenagers are still at a stage where their minds are developing, anything that might influence them would potentially have devastating effects on their lives.
Teenagers are still at a stage where their minds are developing, anything that might influence them would potentially have devastating effects on their lives.
The solution comes with realizing the fact that such a thing as ego exists and that it is the root of all problems.
Yeah, you're point is moot when you refer to a woman as an animal.
If you say it like that you make me sound like I hate women I love women I hate fat people
But isn't airbrushing about skin complexion?
It's not about the weight for anorexics, it's about trying to achieve perfection for some people, and they can't achieve it because it's impossible to be perfect so they're under this massive pressure from society to look fucking awesome all the time and anorexia/bulimia and binge eating are just methods of retaining control that they feel they've lost.
But I like my sexy ads. I'd rather see an ad of someone airbrushed than of some uh "big" man/woman.
But I like my sexy ads. I'd rather see an ad of someone airbrushed than of some uh "big" man/woman.
thanks for advertising the fact that you're a terrible person
But I like my sexy ads. I'd rather see an ad of someone airbrushed than of some uh "big" man/woman.
air brushing and all that fake stuff is NOT attractive at all IMHO it's so fake, that it's just disgusting. You can still have beauty without mass photo editing. sure, maybe she did use tons of make up, but she's not nearly as edited as todays magazines.

Her face looks painted. I see no difference between paint on makeup or digital one. [editline]4th May 2012[/editline]
thanks for advertising the fact that you're a terrible person
Sorry for having an opinion and a preference of not liking fat people.

[editline]4th May 2012[/editline] Sorry for having an opinion and a preference of not liking fat people.
You've just showed your a dumb ass dude, the whole "real" person thing is just about averages, and I dunno about you but in my experience the average girl hasn't been even remotely close to fat, but sure as shit not an under weight twig like the tools you see in most adverts for clothing chains and shit.
That's not edited? Her face looks painted. I see no difference between paint on makeup or digital one. [editline]4th May 2012[/editline] Sorry for having an opinion and a preference of not liking fat people.
I just said, yeah, maybe she uses make up, but it's not editted period. Adding some colorful make up isn't close to airbrushing + photoshoping. but unless you're dumb, you can easily realize that digital is far worse because it can alter an imagine so massively that they could turn someone into a completely different person. Make up in her time could never do anything nearly like that. And make up those days were nothing like today. and you can either fap to basically cartoons, or actual, and very healthy women, I really have no issue with that. But that is entirely different from magazines, and your own thing.
