The only things I'd use an Ouya for would be Netflix and emulation on my couch. But I already have a softmodded Wii for that.
the Ouya's still a semi-okay option if you're lazy and want to play emulators on your couch.
If you can get it cheap. I got a used Ouya with a 32GB USB drive for $55 on eBay. Great for emulation at the price; had no issues playing anything up until Paper Mario (which is probably an incompatibility issue with the emulator). SNES (snes9x), Genesis (MD.emu), Neo-Geo (NEO.emu), GBA (GBA.emu), PS1 (FPSE), and N64 (N64oid) worked fine for the most part. RetroArch has also been ported to it, so that opens up more possibilities for emulation. Other than that, not bad for watching movies you have saved to an external. Definitely lacking in games, but it has a few decent ones. Killing Floor Calamity would be the tits if it had online play.
"Sixty bucks?!"
sums up what people who brought it felt
There are like, 6 good games which are 10-15 dollar total or something. No fucking way i will shovel out 60$ a year. Also remember how they said they are in discussion to bring EA, THQ (RIP). Ubisoft and other AAA titles to the Ouya? Yeah..
I would actually pay $60 dollar a year if this was for Steam.
Imagine a service on Steam where for 20-30 dollars a month you get 5 random games for free to play for one month since after that they will cycle to another 5 random games. I'd pay for that.
Enjoy your 5 copies of Bad Rats.
Jokes on you i got planetside 2, team fortress 2, the hunter and warframe.
Ouya is a walking disaster for crowdfunding, I'm willing to bet there is a few people who are hoping it disappears for that very reason as well.
Ouya stumbled and fucked up getting out the door but ironically paved the way for better microconsoles
$60 10 games you shitting me? I walked away from the summer sale with like 7 games and DLC for $20.
tbh, Steam has so many sales so frequently that aren't themed that you might as well get 10 games for 60 dollars during any other day of the year which is awesome
