Considering you think its justified, we're currently on Facepunch, you're American and your previous justification was that of the law, yeah no. Fuck that debate.
Was just asking for a reason behind your thinking.
Not much more they could have done really.

I know right, dumb trigger happy cops. They should take heavy metal objects to the face like men instead of being pussies and shooting hostile targets that are wielding lethal weapons.
In counterstrike I always accept knife fights, lol. Maybe if the cops weren't scrubs they'd bunnyhop and pwn that noob.
Explain why it wouldnt be justified.
Because cops are stupid and evil and we should be allowed to kill them :downs:
Because cops are stupid and evil and we should be allowed to kill them :downs:
HA.HA.
Justified shooting my ass, I hope you're being sarcastic. Was waiting for this to take off, wondered what happened to the guy.

Justification in the eyes of the law yes.
Justification in the eyes of humanity no.
Terrible reason to end someone's life regardless if they're coming at you with a metal pole or not.
The amount of bullets shot at the guy? Joke.
Bahaha-
You're an idiot.
all 10 of the shots were fired before the guy hit the ground, you can see the first 5 are shot then he turns around and 2-3 more are shot, and you can still see his head above the car and he falls as the last 2 are shot. they shot as many bullets as they needed to in order to put the guy on the ground, saying "2 shots would have done the job" is idiotic.

Dat PCP.
it's always bad when someone is killed but i can't see anything else the police could have done honestly
Since it appears he intended to kill the guy, he could of shot him in the head once and saved the taxpayers a few cents
[editline]26th January 2012[/editline]
What the fuck was that guy on?
Also, wouldn't shooting him in the legs until he fell work?
Not if he just shrugs off a fucking tazer to the face.

Now I'm one who likes to see conflicts resolved with as little violence as possible.
But are you fucking serious?

So its not ok to defend yourself when someone has a weapon that could potentially kill you?

The policeman is a murderer.
The policeman is a murderer.
And the criminal would have been a murderer if he killed the cop.
You can pretty much tell who the sheltered users of facepunch are by which stance they take on this video.
The cop who shot him did exactly what he should have, didn't hesitate to think of any of the shitty solutions retardation and others have come up with, because then his partner would have been dead or injured.
General rule of thumb, attack a guy with a gun, get shot by a gun. Expect anything less and you're an idiot. Exceptions only really exist when they aren't holding a weapon that could cave your skull in.
You can pretty much tell who the sheltered users of facepunch are by which stance they take on this video.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and presume you mean me.
Just because I cannot morally justify killing someone in response to the threat of killing doesn't mean I'm sheltered.
Check my flag, I'm from the UK, we use truncheons and fists to murder people instead.
Nope, police officers are trained to keep firing until you are down on the ground. I think my teacher who was a former SWAT said it was because when the suspect is hyped up on adrenaline a couple of shots isn't going to just stop them.
Only problem is they fire so fast you don't get a chance to drop in time (if you want to survive). Once they fire once, they've already made the decision to kill you, basically.
I have mixed feelings about this.
I wonder what the victims thoughts was when he woke up before this happened, he didn't really think "Today i'm going to die"
Still i would probably have done the same as the cops did, though i didn't see any "midswings" i only saw him threatening the cop. People react in many different ways when they are angry, i still feel sorry for the victim though.

What? If someone is trying to kill you, your not going to shoot them once and see if they would like to sit down and give up. They are going to fire until the threat is no more.

Maybe in America where life is valued based on your bank account, yes. Elsewhere in the world that use guns with live ammunition to enforce the law the general rule of thumb is that the firearm is there to take the suspect down, not to kill them.
If the cops were handed guns on that basis that they "are to kill the suspects" then somehow I think it would be a bit different.
They should train the police to aim better, clearly this man did not need to die.

Did you not read what I posted? Police in the U.S are trained to fire on a suspect until he is no longer a threat, not until he is dead. You can show me the list of country's who train police differently.
Its not practical to take the time to make non lethal shots on a suspect when he is actively trying to kill you. This is posted in about every thread that involves a police shooting.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Lets put this in a different scenario: If are in fear of your wifes life because some man is about to blow her brains out with a shotgun. Would you shoot the suspect?
The officer was in fear of his life and the big pipe-bender is more then capable of killing someone with a swing to the head. Think to yourself: Is it ok to defend myself from death?
The fuck are you talking about? You're telling me if someone was coming at you with a metal pole with the intention of harming you, you would simply shrug it off? It was self-defense. If anything it's the guy who was attacking's fault he died.

If someone is trying to hurt you with something that might kill you, you aren't gonna give a fuck if you kill them or not, and you shouldn't, it would be stupid to aim somewhere else.
I wasn't suggesting he shot the floor.
So if someone is going to murder you, or your friend, you will just stand there and watch it happen?
the suspect wasn't shot down until almost the last bullet after looking at it closely, and most should know that officers have to shoot when an immediate thread is posed and continue until the suspect is down

You think I wouldn't film it? Psch.
