So America owes foreigners about $4.5 trillion in debt. But America owes America $9.8 trillion.
WHAT THE FUCK????
UK owns 2.1%, how the fuck?
They don't "New England" for nothin'
He can't move legislation it doesn't matter what ideology it fits Republicans won't have it because they want to win more that solve issues. The only issues they want solved is how to make a crater out of the middle east, deport all illegals, and prevent America from falling to the creeping shariah secularists.
No I meant I would have thought he could save more than that with the amount of federal government trimming he advocates.
But that's assuming American businesses can't move production to other countries where I'm sure they can get it just as cheap. Also I thought a lot of Chinese public was too poor to consume their own goods.
Something like 80% of their productive capacity is consumed domestically, IIRC.
This is like the mannconomy all over again
Let's sprinkle some ron paul onto this mess and see if that doesn't freshen the air a bit.
> United Kingdom: $346.5 billion (2.4 percent)]
Har har ready to pay back all that tax money and the tea you ruined America?
No I meant I would have thought he could save more than that with the amount of federal government trimming he advocates.
Oh I thought you were talking about Obama. onr lpau 0212
wait wait wait what How... how the fuck does that work. I mean, the 'US Households', 'Commercial Banks', 'Private Pension Funds' and whatnot make sense, but... The government owes the government its own money!? God damn, our government is filled to the brim with idiots.
The US treasury is not a direct part of the government but a separate institution.
What the fuck, that's not the argument at all. The point is that China owns enough US debt to cripple the American (and thus the global) economy. When people talk about who owns American debt, they talk about foreign debtors, which is why China is number 1.
I'd say the majority thinks that the majority of the debt lies with China. Not that China is the biggest foreign holder.
The government is not for the people, by the people. For the corporations, by the corporations.
In Canada, we pay over 4$ a gallon.
In the UK, we pay roughly 8.2$ a gallon. :v:
I look to Jeremy Clarkson In times such as these. "...Of course there is the recession which we have decided not to participate in..."
It's not the system, it's the people.
It's both. The system crafted the people, at least some of them. I think politicians are reducing the intelligence of Americans, or morons have taken over the world. Or both. The system is a huge problem, capitalism, voters who don't know what they're doing, I just wish deus ex would happen and Helios could take over the world. Humans aren't fit to govern themselves, we're too idiotic. -EDIT- That, and anyone who can attain power is completely unfit to govern, since gaining power in our world involves gaining money. Which pretty much means corporations, exploitations of others. No matter how great your politician may seem, they still did this. Once again, AI, ruling the world. Or we can become the zerg and be barely sentient. Which wouldn't be a huge change from normal people
you know you fucked up when after everything you're in debt to yourself
> Caribbean banking centers: $148.3 (1 percent)
What, did an america get out a loan to buy an icecream or something? :v:
But the Federal Reserve isn't a part of the federal government. We wouldn't owe this debt if the Treasury was the one to print US money instead of the Federal Reserve. Basically we owe money to a bunch of shitheads that SOMEHOW got the right to print our money.
They bought over Woodrow Wilson and He signed the Federal Reserve Act in 1913. He even regretted it afterward. Look this up people. "I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." -Woodrow Wilson, after signing the Federal Reserve into existence
Needs a pie-graph!
Needs a pie-graph!
Working on one, because I'm that bored :v:
The government is not for the people, by the people. For the corporations, by the people.
Hold on, you had a typo. I fixed it for you though.

I wonder how much the PRC would pay for the US to abandon its policy of RoC protection.
I only hope either I don't live to see it collapse or they replace the current broken system as quickly as possible.
When Social Security was instated it wasn't meant to stay. It was apart of America being a Welfare State in the depression. But nobody has been able to shake the system because people just rely on it rather than secure their retirement themselves. And nobody just wants to take away old peoples money...
It's not that they care about old people because they're old people, it's because old people vote a lot more than young people, so they get listened to. Nothing against old people, but Social Security is one of the cancers that are killing the country. oh fuck me I just realized how many pages this thread already has
Hahaha, cheap. $3+ a gallon.
How about $8+ a gallon? lol Netherlands. :(
What's wrong with Social security? It keeps old people out of poverty, how's that bad?
What the fuck, that's not the argument at all. The point is that China owns enough US debt to cripple the American (and thus the global) economy.
No, Japan is.
How do you figure? [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
What's wrong with Social security? It keeps old people out of poverty, how's that bad?
The earliest recipients never paid into it at ALL, making it an outright theft from the productive. I've read that the average person drawing SS and Medicare uses up all the $ he put into it in a very few years. If we all just made prudent investments with that 15% of our annual income that is stolen by SS, we could end up with a LOT more $ and services than gov't gives us when we retire!. If you DON'T/CAN'T so invest, you dont deserve retirement. Perish in and of your own void, as Nature intends for you to, that's all. You've been found unfit, and you should suffer the consequences. The unfit pollute the gene pool. You can dislike that fact all you want, it's still a fact. vote contag 2012 republican nomination
Oh boy, I hope the Americans don't call in the debt, or else America is fucked!
Also it's the middle of summer, it's at its peak price right now. In the middle of the recession it went as low as $1.36 here. $1.36 In 2007. The only place you'd find that is like, Africa or something.
Finland yesterdays average price per liter (98 octane) 1.61€ -> 6.12 € per gallon = 8.82504 US$
Where is that damn reset button? Or the "EMERGENCY: REPEAL THE FEDERAL RESERVE ACT" button?
