director's cut removes the yellow hue and adds 2 energy bars at default, new game+ and missing link dlc being integrated into the main game instead of as a standalone game while also fixing other gameplay related issues like boss fights being too head-on centric and augmentations and gives you all past dlc so yes, it's deffo worth it
It also reintroduces so many bugs and texture glitches from the older versions, including the mass-stuttering for many players including myself(seems to be more of a Nvidia thing). We kept getting told that they were going to fix it but nothing ever got released. It also runs worse and the boss fights were just barely improved.
[sp]It's probably going to just be the most common option picked. Darrow's ending + Malik's death being canon and all.[/sp]
Which is entirely wrong approach. If anything they should take these options that give the most interesting outcome but that's entirely beside the point. When you design a game that as a main catch has multiple storylines and different choices and gamers are led to believe that their choices matter (to the entire world presented), AND THEN you decide to make a continuation - you either do not make it a direct story sequel, or you make the way to not shit on the previous installment. Because that's just lazy writing.

I just gunned my way through them since they didn't affect your ghost and pacifist run
[sp]It's probably going to just be the most common option picked. Darrow's ending + Malik's death being canon and all.[/sp]
[sp]No, saving Malik is the only acceptable option.[/sp]
They do, actually. They're doing it under the assumption that any option could have been picked - so no alive Faridah just in case your Jensen let her die.
I realise you can't say much from those screenshots, but they look fairly gun & action focused, don't they?
HR was good, but I'm rather disappointed at how samey this looks. I was hoping for a proper return to how the original game played.
That's a great thing, the FPS genre is missing a sandbox FPS
I mean, there's always Far Cry 2-4, but yeah a sandbox Deux Ex would be fantastic.
I realise you can't say much from those screenshots, but they look fairly gun & action focused, don't they?
Kinda difficult to make eyecatchy promo material out of stealth runs seeing how it's defined by subtlety. And looking at two people arguing, through a vent grid.
All the leaked content has a yellow color scheme while the Square Enix twitch event is all purple Twitch ARG confirmed for not deus ex?
HR was good, but I'm rather disappointed at his samey this looks. I was hoping for a proper return to how the original game played.
FPS/TPS gun play is more appealing to AAA audiences
HR was good, but I'm rather disappointed at his samey this looks. I was hoping for a proper return to how the original game played.
these are just promo screenshots though, we have no idea how the gameplay is/whether its been improved a lot or not
I really hope they keep the feeling of options when approaching problems. Pacifist play-through, etc. I don't want a Deux ex game that forces you into murderhobo mode.
If anything, I hope they make murder mode more viable. In HR stealth and nonlethal always gave more exp, so you'd be actively harming yourself if you didn't play the game that way. I hope that's at least somewhat evened out.
This game -- the hype is intensifying to the point where we may not be able to contain it. Why contain it? Let it spill over into the schools and churches, let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end, they'll beg us to release it.
While the screenshots look fantastic, they also look rather similiar to HR despite a few graphical enhancements here/there. Nonetheless, HR (Especially the DX version) was a damn good game and I have high hopes for Eidos.
these are just promo screenshots though, we have no idea how the gameplay is/whether its been improved a lot or not
Hopefully the game won't be punishing for you to go loud, I disliked how easy it was to use stealth 1-tapping enemies with a maxed pistol and nothing else.

I hope they improved character models and animations. They were disgusting to look at and watch in DX:HR. Conversations always felt so awkward because everyone kept moving robotically.

The animations are entirely the issue.
IMO there seems to be too much going on in some of those screenshots making it look a bit disorientating, especially the second and last pics. I hope that's toned down ingame. Looks pretty rad tho
I loved HR didn't care all that much about the original.
I think HR's gameplay was really fun but the story was a bit eh, and your input doesn't really matter, the story is quite linear. The original has exceeds HR in a couple of ways.
IMO there seems to be too much going on in some of those screenshots making it look a bit disorientating. Especially the second and last pics.
I feel like they're more just trying to show off the fancy new "next-gen" graphics. Maybe it'll look less cluttered in the final product.
Yeah that's probably the case.
Yay more Elias Toufexis! So, this is gonna be after the end of HR? That makes me curious. Hopefully they don't give us a PP presentation as an ending though...
It's been a long time since I've actually been excited about a game long due to be released. I've got high hopes for this game.
I hope they improved character models and animations. They were disgusting to look at and watch in DX:HR.
