Bloodborne review embargo lifted, confirmed game of the generation

Well this sucks. I waited for at least some reviews to pop out before I got it and I can't even purchase it as of this moment to start pre-loading.
So let me get this straight, its an X/Y/Z-Souls ripoff made by the makers of X/Y/Z-Souls exclusively for the PS4?
I mean dont get me wrong if you like X/Y/Z-Souls this is pretty much just X/Y/Z-Souls 3/4 whatever before it comes out everywhere else but I'm not getting the hype. Why are certain PS4 owners getting so uppity about this?
It's not really a rip off considering it's made by the devs who made the souls games

I'm blown away
what
how do you even think this logic?

I think it's being hyped up due to a combination of things. For one, it's the latest Souls game. Gamers slobber over that series for some reason. I don't get it myself, though admittedly I've never played it - fantasy settings aren't my forté, so what I see just bores me.
Secondly, it's the first truly exclusive PS4 game with aggregate review scores over a 90% rating so far (though bear in mind not all the big sites have weighed in yet), so they're probably happy they just finally have something to play.
Of course, I foresee it snagging all the GotY spots come awards season regardless, because "DEAR GOD IT'S A NEW SOULS GAME AND IT'S EXCLUSIVE TO THE LATEST SONY SYSTEM LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS HNGGGGG"

I don't understand what you're saying.
To be honest I'd need 5 or 6 other ps4 exlusive games that were as good as Bloodborne before i'd consider dropping hundreds of dollars on a Play Station 4.
I have a feeling this game is overhyped and reviews are skewed.
My feelings never lie about games. I still remember saying same thing about new Deus Ex and getting rated boxes.
I'm hoping it's not skewed; it looks to be a rather fun experience aside from some loading time issues and FPS drops; thankfully not ever as bad as blight town from ds1 (based on what I've heard)
I think the op over hyped this thread too much, thus the reaction. The last thread I made on bloodborne praised it mostly due to it being a better exclusive than the order 1886 after sony made their promise to deliver exclusives in 2015 at the end of 2014. It probably isn't the best game to ever grace the earth. More likely just a damn good game.
I'll probably make a few videos of my experiences with bloodborne; it certainly changes the formula that souls/demons souls players are used to in terms of gameplay because of the lack of a shield and the health-through-fighting mechanic

kingdom hearts 3 better be good
How is the framerate on this one?
How is the framerate on this one?
apparently in combat the FPS is always good; just loading into areas and overviewing the whole area you can get some FPS drop. when I can play it I'll see for myself

good fps being above 30?
[editline]24th March 2015[/editline]
because I'm tired of games that do this
it's capped at 30 but apparently it doesn't drop
tbh that's a huge killjoy for me
it feels like shit playing most games at 30, ESPECIALLY fighting games
I got through the entirety of dark souls at capped 30, ill be fine
I got through the entirety of dark souls at capped 30, ill be fine
the thing is, you can uncap the frame rate lock on dark souls 1 to 60 fps. Dark souls 1 felt really shit with 30fps, I played it despite that quite a bit but I just can't bare it any more.
you can't on consoles. Consoles DO have the hardware to run games past 30 fps but devs are more worried about marketing the graphics of the game than the performance.
30 fps really is not acceptable. 60 fps was normal since the 90's, what the fuck happened?
I highly doubt that a 30fps action game is going to be the game of the generation.
the thing is, you can uncap the frame rate lock on dark souls 1 to 60 fps

And neither did I with my first dark souls playthrough. Like I said, I'll live.
And neither did I with my first dark souls playthrough. Like I said, I'll live.
I'll probably manage to live as well with it. I mean, the game still looks REALLY fucking good. Overall entirely solid.
It's not really a rip off considering it's made by the devs who made the souls games
I am aware of this i even stated this in my post

Friend its 4:30 AM maybe "clone" would be a better word but i think you can probably guess what i meant from the rest of the post.
I don't understand what you're saying.
Its Dark souls but its not Dark souls but its from the makers of Dark Souls. I dont understand the massive hype and torrent of shitposts on /v/ that leaked to other placed including here.

If the game can keep that 30 FPS stable, look decent and still be playable (it's not like these are fast paced games, it will be). Then it's not a massive issue. You aren't meant to be scraping your eyes on the screen when playing console games, so the distance is going to change your perception of the frame rate, hopefully enough for you to not care.
Consistent frame rates are much nicer to watch that uncapped ones that shoot up and down, changing how things feel just slightly every so often. Keep it consistent, keep it good. Work with the limitations you have. Let developers who actually know what they're doing find ways to get the extra performance out of the hardware.

60 frames with extreme consistency has been an extremely common thing for a very long time now. The ps4 easily has the hardware to pull 60 fps. And inconsistant 30 to 60 fps is still better than just "lol cap at 30 fps". capping it at 30 fps is just silly.
the Wii u can play games at 60 fps, and the ps4 has FAR better hardware than the wii u. Instead of trying to make games "Next gen looking" if they sacrificed a bunch bit of bullshit on the screen that isn't entirely they would be able to actually run it at a framerate that doesn't feel sluggish.
the real issue I think is that devs don't give us the option to turn off some graphics options to play at 60 fps. It would be really easily done too. But I've not seen a single console game that does this.
[editline]24th March 2015[/editline]
and the difference of 30 and 60 fps is too obvious not to notice. Why would by eyes be "Scraping on the screen". it doesn't matter if you're playing on a tv or a monitor. 60 fps is a huge deal, it makes the entire feel a LOT smoother, and the game plays a LOT better. The latency of the game really picks up, and it's easier to play.
I don't even know how people argue for 30 fps. There isn't a debate. 60 fps is objectively better to play on.

The Wii U doesn't have games that keep over-exerting the hardware from what I've seen. Very few games on that really push graphical boundaries in any way. Not really the fairest comparison. Developers seem to be told "hey you can do anything with this!" when it comes to the PS4/ XBOne.
60FPS might well be possible, but that doesn't mean a developer is going to go for it. 30 is totally playable to a majority of the population, and lets them add some extra graphical shit that they might not need, but hey! Most people wont give a fuck if the game runs a few ms slower per frame! Shit there's always a chance they opted for 30 for artistic reasons, the slight choppiness of lower frame rates can be used for style if done right.
I do sorta wish more games did what Bioshock on the PS3 did, and included an option to switch off some of the advanced shaders for extra frames. But that's extra effort and money in an already huge budget that needs to be profited from.

I never said it wasn't?
Just that 30 FPS is not the Hitler incarnate loads of you make it out to be and that it is totally playable.
I really wish devs would get the picture. Hey devs, How about instead, stop shoving so much shit on the screen that the hardware can't run it properly? Huh? maybe you should focus on doing that.

That's the thing. I'm more bickering about general people talking about it really.
Unless the games extremely good I really can't play it if it's capped at 30 fps. So it's not that playable.

Pffft, they've got RAM to use and CPUs to max. No time to consider that when everybody is an entitled shit who expects nothing but better and better graphics.
Pffft, they've got RAM to use and CPUs to max. No time to consider that when everybody is an entitled shit who expects nothing but better and better graphics.
to be honest that's actually the worst part about it.
Most console players probably have never even experienced 60 fps to care. But when you're used to such good performance it's really hard to get away from it..
I'd take a shitty looking game over a game that runs good any day really.
tbh though dark souls 1 despite playing in 30 fps, i didn't even notice it sometimes because I got so immersed in it. Not because it was graphically a good game, but because the combat was too fun to not enjoy.
Hopefully if I ever play bloodborne I'll feel the same.
I highly doubt that a 30fps action game is going to be the game of the generation.
Yeah game quality means nothing when it's 30FPS.
I fucking want it, alright.

How fucking pretentious do you have to be to decide that 30 FPS games are literally unplayable
How fucking pretentious do you have to be to decide that 30 FPS games are literally unplayable
if its dark souls 1 quality it's pretty playable, but if I'm playing a shooter it feels like shit to be playing it at 30 fps, it's a lot harder to play because it makes the game overall feel extremely sluggish. I don't think you understand how big of a difference it makes.
If you're fine with 30 fps that's like, your thing. I didn't spend a shit load of money on my nice PC to play games at 30 fps though. I'm even going to buy a 120 hz monitor. Because framerate really does count.
[editline]24th March 2015[/editline]
Yeah game quality means nothing when it's 30FPS.
The thing is, frame rate can deteriorate on the game quality.
but this game is too good looking to let the fact that it's 30 fps ruin it.
and also shitting on a game THAT hard over the frame rate is unrealistic

So do you hate the game, or what...? You're being really unclear. Just a few posts ago it sounded like you were dissing it based entirely on the fact that it was 30 FPS locked, but now you're saying that the game is too good looking to let the framerate ruin it.

I hate the fact that it's 30 fps. And games playing at 30 fps is very much unaccapleable. But From softwares games are good enough that it's easier to accept it. I've played a ton of dark souls 1 at 30 fps purely because of how much I loved the game, but after a while I really couldn't even bother playing without it locked at 60 fps.
I might not buy it a few reasons (I don't really need a ps4 mainly), and I REALLY want to play this game even still, but when I play a game at 30 fps it feels very painful on the eyes, and makes it harder to play overall just from a standpoint of how the game feels. It really effects the gameplay for me, and a ton of other people as well. I'd probably play the shit out of the game if I had it until the framerate really gets to me.
anyone who thinks less than 30 fps is acceptable though is just being a dipshit.
