played a few hours of bloodborne. confirmed framerate dipping below 30 while playing.
This mentality is so obnoxious.
It's okay when the PC Mustard Race do it though ;)
It's okay when the PC Mustard Race do it though ;)
console users seem to act that way about consoles purely to spite pc users that act like massive obnoxious tits about everything, and nothing else
console users seem to be elitist about consoles purely to spite pc users that act like massive obnoxious tits about everything
We're really not that bad. If this exact thread popped up and the game was a PC exclusive then you lot would act exactly the same about console users. It works both ways.
It'd be great if you could change some graphical options in console games such as reducing shadow or texture quality to get some extra FPS if you want more than just the base 30. Why isn't this a thing already? Surely it would be possible.

Just the games at the moment are pitiful. I primarily use PC and notice that the PC crowd can be more awful about everything than they realize. Console users are nice and fair outside of certain sites.
To be fair to the OP, I'm a PC gamer and that's playing in my head right now.

But yeah we can be both as bad as each other sometimes.
Good, now I have an excuse to clean the layers of dust caked onto my PS4...
It's too early for a game to be considered "game of the generation". Maybe a few years down the road when people start knowing how to develop for the new consoles.
If in 10 years time Bloodborne is standing up in every way to most new games then we can talk 'game of the generation' until then it's just a game that got good review scores.
gonna wait until the hype dies down and we get some more critical reviews. i'm sure it's a decent game but calling it "game of the generation" this early and giving it near perfect / perfect scores just screams "we're playing into the hype"
snip
So the playstation actually gets a game. Hath hell frozen over?
So the playstation actually gets a game. Hath hell frozen over?
I wouldn't call a console motion pictures project a game.
bout 4 hours in and the framerate hasn't bothered me or affected my gameplay one bit : ) now the weird laggy animations and weapon clipping stuff...
I suppose its time to buy a ps4.
So literally just another "Citizen Kane of gaming" situation like what happened with The Last of Us and then it turned out to be pretty good but a fraction of it's image got destroyed by blind hype. So now it's just going to be another Dark Souls 1 where the game is absolutely incredible but then you get faggots who either call it shit because it's popular or the greatest game of all time because it's popular and it fuels a pointless fire where idiocy takes over rational opinions and discussions about the game.
As amazing as the game might be, I don't really think it is worth forking over $650 for the console and $120 (!!!!) for the game.
Same here. I'm not willing to spend over seven hundred dollars to play a game that's barely even a blip on my radar. If this came out on Steam I might be willing to grab it on a $30 steam sale, but it's just not interesting enough for me to justify spending any more than that on a copy.
i mean it's probably an alright game but it's not going to be the second coming of christ
30 fps really is not acceptable. 60 fps was normal since the 90's, what the fuck happened?
Speak for yourself. Getting 60FPS is nice but I'm not going out of my way to force a game to run at 60 if I can have fun playing it at 30. Or even 15, as is so often the case with Garry's Mod. I 'spose you can blame Gmod for my apathy regarding framerate, though, the sorts of things I build in that game would make a state of the art I7 cry for mercy. I'm so used to low framerates I don't notice it until it's in the single digits unless there's an FPS counter on my screen.

Because that's what I see when I see a Souls game. I've watched people play them before and they didn't impress. They looked boring almost, like the only selling point is how 'hard' they are.
It's okay when the PC Mustard Race do it though ;)
This. People ITT are being hypocritical as fuck.
Didn't Dark Souls come to the PC eventually, or that wasn't an exclusive?
Didn't Dark Souls come to the PC eventually, or that wasn't an exclusive?
It was originally released for Xbox & PlayStation, but eventually came to PC (as a very bad port). It's sequel was released on all three at the same time. However, neither Dark Souls game was published by Sony, while both Demon's Souls (a PS3 Exclusive) and Bloodborne are.
Been watching this on Brandon505's stream, this game looks sick af
Sony funded the game, and they know the PS4 really needs good exclusives to sell the console, so there is next to no chance of it coming to PC. If it does make its way onto PC somehow, it won't be for quite a while, at least.

I like the vague secrets of the gameworld. Plus the procedural generated chalice dungeon missions and coop appeal to me a lot
It's fine with a gamepad really.
I've not tried ds1 without a gamepad anyways, I don't think I'd want to
Speak for yourself. So when I see a game that's forced at 30 fps it's extremely offputting, and it's being locked for no reason. This is what is happening to console games, 30 fps locks are extremely common, but if they just had a "Lower graphics setting option" for 60 fps it'd be ok (And the game apparently doesn't even do 30 fps consistently) I used to be the same way. I beat Alan Wake at 15 fps. But I was extremely frustrated about it the entire way through. Every previous computer I've owned before this was very cheap. Overall if your specs aren't that great (and hey, fuck, that's perfectly ok) then it's different. For a computer its pretty different, devs have a certain range of specs the games made for. But for a console its hard to excuse such shitty performance when every console is the same (which is why this is frustrating, it has the hardware to do it). but that's expected for first and 2nd year games, since optimization tools don't really exist yet.
Or possibly end up being an average game that's heralded as god-tier simply because of its ridiculous difficulty? Because that's what I see when I see a Souls game. Even casuals can beat dark souls. the souls series is only hard if you are stubborn and patiant.
