I am running out of arguments against a Mac friend if this keeps up.

that MacBook Pro is running Crysis through Boot Camp, he was talking about playing it natively I believe. but yes, Macs can play Crysis... If you buy the more expensive ones.
but this is great new for Mac "gamers" no I don't need to dual-boot my MacBook which is nice since I can have my hard drive space back, just use one OS, and not have to reboot to play games.
Now where's the linux release?
[editline]03:12PM[/editline]
The computers that have the power to run games.
Good, the more Steam users the better, the whole Mac vs PC thing is childish.
"As we transition from entertainment as a product to entertainment as a service, customers and developers need open, high-quality Internet clients," said Gabe Newell, President of Valve. "The Mac is a great platform for entertainment services."
Sounds like a big contradiction and kick in the balls to the PS3.
Awesome! I hope this also means that SourceMods can be compiled for mac too.
Maybe this will calm some of the mac-pc flame wars.
I hope, that argument was getting old
and we have added a new feature, called Steam Play, which allows customers who purchase the product for the Mac or Windows to play on the other platform free of charge.
 Hell yes!
"Steamworks for the Mac supports all of the Steamworks APIs, and we have added a new feature, called Steam Play, which allows customers who purchase the product for the Mac or Windows to play on the other platform free of charge. For example, Steam Play, in combination with the Steam Cloud, allows a gamer playing on their work PC to go home and pick up playing the same game at the same point on their home Mac. We expect most developers and publishers to take advantage of Steam Play."
Wow that's really nice of them.
cool, the games will run natively on Macs and not be a messed up port like what EA did for Battlefield 2142

If only to prevent themselves from shooting themselves in the foot.
I wonder if the increase in Mac owners on Steam will decrease or increase the Mac/PC flame wars on Facepunch.
I wonder if the Source SDK modding tools are also coming to Mac.
all this does is give PC users less ammo to use against Mac users about not having games. Sure we won't have as much but at least we're starting to get some/better support for Mac "gamers"
April..
Would they make this an april fools?
Nah they won't
Screw mac gamers. Work on Ep3.

He turned shadows and shaders to low. I could run those settings on an Eee PC.
Fuck, something to distract me when I get a macbook
Very smooth move business wise, offering an easier (better) way to grab (buy) new games for the Mac side of things.

Oh shit, I never thought of that. :ohdear:
Err...we'd still need Windows to play Mass Effect 2 anyway.
This really is a smooth way to kick the PS3 in the balls, majorly.
I mean come on, calling the MAC a " great platform for entertainment services." but continously yelling at the PS3 for being shit.
And distributing to the Xbox360 but not PS3 despite this comment "As we transition from entertainment as a product to entertainment as a service, customers and developers need open, high-quality Internet clients."
But don't get me wrong, I just find it hilarious.

in the description it doesn't say they're on low settings, it just says they're not on high.

It's the beginning of March.
You can't setup April fools a month before just because the date it's supposed to come out in is in the same month or the same day.
1 week before April fools and you can start setting shit up.

Can you read?
The only thing I go into Bootcamp for is for Source engine games.
This is probably the largest step forward for Mac gaming ever.
Oh, damn, I noticed I kind of double posted, didn't notice that the dupe thread got merged, just assumed it got deleted.

you just seemed a bit mad because the PS3 is lacking support from Valve, and yea I can read.
Next stop:
Linux support.
(hopefully :argh:)
