Mac is shit
Macs aren't shit, there dumb fans and idiotic management are shit.
If they can port it to mac, then most of the work on porting it to Linux is done. At the least, playing the games in Linux will be much easier, but they should release it for Linux.
[editline]03:37PM[/editline]
Or Van-man ninjas me. That works too.
I bet in 5 years time, there will be a boost in games being released on the Mac. And it will be down to the Steam content delivery network, it's certainly done plenty for pc gaming (in terms of anti-piracy, digital delivery and not being a shitty DRM).
This sounds like the beginning of multi-platform multiplayer. I can't wait.
all this does is give PC users less ammo to use against Mac users about not having games. Sure we won't have as much but at least we're starting to get some/better support for Mac "gamers"
No, all this does is give Mac users games.
Stop thinking about everything as a Mac vs PC war goddamnit.

I'm not, the internet thinks that way. I personally want it to stop since it's annoying and getting old.
I meant a majority of the internet does.
where did my edit button go??
you just seemed a bit mad because the PS3 is lacking support from Valve, and yea I can read.
No. I find it hilarious that they kick the PS3 in the balls like this by making these contradictions.
ITT: Angry Mac haters.

oh ok, I rated myself bad reading and yea the PS3 just left in the dust by Valve.
Doesn't affect me but this is still brilliant news. Good to see they're doing native support and all that instead of emulation. And the fact that multiplayer is cross-platform will mean that games that bomb on the Mac will still have an active multiplayer universe.
[editline]09:04PM[/editline]
I smiled while reading the announcement and then half way through began to laugh heartily. I honestly do not know why :geno:
This is good news. Hopefully we'll see more cross-platform gaming, which is the way it should be in 2010.
Plug in a fucking USB mouse jesus christ, I use my Mac all the time for gaming.

"Except the fact that they are insanely over priced and that MOST people who buy they are ignorant morons."
I think you missed a word. 95% of the people I know who own/want a Mac want it because "it looks cool" or because they currently use a 7 year old dell that cost $500 running Windows xp and they think all PCs suck as a result.
Now we just need a Linux client, shouldn't be hard after making source in opengl like they plan.
Also HL2:ep 3 of course.
So we will be able to play against mac players on tf2?
So we will be able to play against mac players on tf2?
yes, and you will have the joy of killing them

My 2 1/2 year old dell laptop can run Crysis Warhead on the same settings as that mac. It cost me $1300 at the time and still runs every game that comes out today.

Stop derailing the thread. Moron.
I support this, but still lol at the Mac fagboys in the MacRumors comments
Excellent news. This ALSO means that one of the last reasons for people to keep (unwillingly) their inferior PCs is practically vaporized now.
MS IS DEAD. AND SO IS DELL.

Once more I have to say: MS IS DEAD. AND SO ARE WINDOWS PCs.

the 27" iMac is rockin'! Even with a non-uber powered bleeding edge gfx card, it's an EXCELLENT computer for games.

I wonder - will Source-based games like Garry's Mod work out of the box, or will we have to wait for those developers to get their acts together and port them?

That's what always amazes me when Winblows trolls come to populate this forum and brag about PC gaming advantages - UNLESS you're in the 0.5% of customers who really care about upgrading GFX cards, Macs are MUCH better on average than most PCs out there. A quick visit to places like MediaMarkt or BestBuy will show you that.
Actually most of the fagginess is just from one guy called BRLawyer.
Oh no, the amount of computer illiterate cunts using Steam is gonna go up considerably...

Anyway these aren't just straight-up carbon copies to the Mac, they'll work out alternatives you nobber.

those comment are from the retarded and ignorant bunch of the Mac users (the one that give the non-insane and ones who don't give shit about which platform is better, like me, a bad name/reputation). and You are looking at the base 27" iMac model. I if you actually clicked it you would see what the are talking about. Compared to PC the specs are nothing special and over priced.
[editline]01:27PM[/editline]
this what they were talking about:

I hate them
I don't see why people think this is a bad idea, Mac is okey. Sure they're overpriced and have flaws, but the PC also got flaws. I personally own both, and love them both. I just don't understand why people is whining about it. I see people say there is no Mac Gamers, that's because there is no games really for mac. So they have to install Windows with bootcamp which is such a hassle, with the drivers and everything.
And this also means that porting steam to Linux would be possible.
This will save Mac users a lot of hassle.
There isn't really anything negative about it, and it shouldn't be a problem to port the source engine either since they have at least some OpenGL experience (Since the GoldSource engine).
Reposting/quoting what I said in the other thread.
Valve is kicking some serious ass this year.
I wonder how would that work price-wise? Cause last I checked Bioshock for macs still costs 50$.
