Seriously, why switch over to modern times? Bound in Blood was fucking perfect, shame it wasn't as popular as it should of been, I think they're probably doing this to attract all those CoD gamers who only play games with an "SOOPIR DOOPIR SOPMOD M4 xDDD" in it.
game isnt out yet, IT MUST SUCK
if they can still keep it wild west kinda that'd be cool. like how no country for old men was modern day but it was like a old western anyway.

I'm actually a big Wild West enthusiast, and that was one of the main reasons I enjoyed these series, but this does sound interesting.

developers try to change up the pattern and everyone on FP bitches their little hearts out classic It's an interesting concept and frankly none of you have seen enough to dismiss it as shit for it's setting alone.
oh man look at the characters i totally have grounds to call it a shitty game now oh mann.. i see a helicopter this is obviously gonna be a generic war shooter...
Yeah, I'm sure the final game will have an amazing plot and really good characters, they released those screens as a distraction, the actual game won't have some kind of Hally Berry look-a-like with awesome glasses on, an ugly dude with a hat and "WHOA helicopter in the background YO!" action going on. stop with the "you can't judge a game by the first pics! you didn't play it yet!" spergin

My only hope is that it's No country for old men styled game.
I loved the story... Really loved.
It looks like this. [img_thumb]http://images.eurogamer.net/assets/articles//a/1/3/2/5/6/8/8/Image00004.jpg.jpg[/img_thumb] look at those characters.
Hey look, it's Halle Berry.

"Hey, Developers! This is that guy in the suit, you know, the one from your publisher. Listen, we think Call of Juarez is a really good franchise. Really good, you know? But we've been looking at recent trends, and it looks like modern-day shooters sell like hotcakes. Call of Juarez is a pretty cool game, right? Why don't you transplant it into the modern day? I'm sure it could do really well for us all." "Also, there is this other thing. Minecraft? That resonates really well with our target audience. While you're at it, why don't you make the world out of blocks and let the player build stuff, or something? That could sell well." "I don't know why you guys aren't picking up."
yeah because putting a game into modern day is obviously taking cues from call of duty since obviously call of duty is the only game series to change setting and call of duty and call of Juarez are so similar to begin with [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] Please, take some time to think about how stupid you sound.

One of the main reasons why I loved the first two games. Now it looks like a generic game borderline 50cent blood on the sand. It's a shitty setting in comparison to what it once was, it's like having Skyrim take place in space.
Damn. This and Red Dead Redemption were the last bastions of Wild West gaming. Hopefully Rockstar will continue with Red Dead.

" will take them from the heart of modern day Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico." They obviously know what they're doing if they are going to try something like this. Give it a chance before jumping to conclusions.

Furthermore you also assume no one liked Call of Juarez because of the Old Western setting.

I really enjoyed the first two, especially Bound in Blood, I hope it's successful.
very interesting move, no idea if they are good at video games with modern settings tho. also, there's still a lot of stuff in western to make a game about. I hope they are going to pull it off, it's a very risky concept after all
I loved Call of Juarez and Bound in Blood, so I can't wait to see what Techland do here. Also I just realized that you will probably play as a descendant of Billy Candle.
I'm still waiting for Dead Island from Techland. :colbert:
I have doubts about that. I fear they might have gone all over the place with the game and have a mess on their hands. I'd rather have it canned than come out a total fuck up.
oh my god i loved bound in blood, this looks great
*looks at pictures of characters* YEP THIS GAME IS GONNA HAVE HORRIBLE CHARACTERS
Yeah it's just a pic of them looking terrible can't judge anything on that
