it depends how you define 'accomplished', but it's irrelevant, because I don't think I could even name twenty wars let alone know the details of them
Okay, name 5. go on. Just 5.
Okay, name 5. go on. Just 5.
I don't really understand what you're asking. the meaning of 'accomplish' changes depending on who you're "siding" with when it comes to a war like for example world war 2 and the cold war are good examples of technological innovation driven by war, whereas world war 1 didn't accomplish as much in the same way but it did serve to wind the world down out of the "we want a good old fashioned imperial war!" mentality and advance archaic military tactics in a short period of time I'm sorry I just don't really know what kind of answer you want
honestly i wonder what they looked like after the explosion
I don't understand this post. Are you new to humanity? I'll agree that war is terrible, but I definitely wouldn't say that it is fruitless. War gets shit done.
Sure did a lot of shit for these guys.

Of course you're just going to regurgitate the same thing above by going 'herp well there were many technological achievements in WW2...' even though 'gets shit done' is not a substantive noun for 'lets trade countries and murder millions for 6 years until things go back to a nearly pre-war map except for a massive west vs east polarisation that leads to the cold war.'
I don't understand this post. Are you new to humanity? I'll agree that war is terrible, but I definitely wouldn't say that it is fruitless. War gets shit done.
romanticizing war is disgusting there is nothing "human" about war conflict is a universal thing among many species and we also have the inherent right to stop it
romanticizing war is disgusting there is nothing "human" about war
War is completely human but human things aren't all good
My heart skipped a beat when I saw the photo's of the second between life and death...
War is completely human but human things aren't all good
i'm using "human" in the context in that it isn't sound or humane
War is completely human but human things aren't all good
Warfare is not human though. Warfare is an artificial construction of politics and civilisation, and is nothing more than a perversion. If it is so natural why is it so damaging?
Warfare is not human though. Warfare is an artificial construction of politics and civilisation, and is nothing more than a perversion. If it is so natural why is it so damaging?
A construction humans made It's completely human, not natural but human.
A construction humans made It's completely human, not natural but human.
Well obvious if you're going to pedantic that everything that is artificially constructed is going to be human. But it is still just another meaningless pop philosophy.
yeah but you guys are saying it's not human i'm only saying it is nothing more lol
Sure and Fe3C is human too right?
Nope that's a compound. denying war is human is like denying that the Kardashians are part of the United State's culture(which they are)
That gave me shivers... I watch some pretty fucked up shit on liveleak, and this made me pause.
I don't know whether to be amazed at the fact that she managed to catch that picture or utterly horrified. Although reading the first caption makes me feel a hell of a lot more horrifed.
Well should serve as a reminder that neither side is faceless. You can be almost guaranteed that the people on the other side are just as varied, some just had a kid and who knows what else. That there's people behind the guns, not just two ideas fighting with each other.
Warfare is not human though. Warfare is an artificial construction of politics and civilisation, and is nothing more than a perversion. If it is so natural why is it so damaging?
Warfare is perhaps one of the most human things we've ever had. These days we don't just fight to win, we fight to decimate the enemy. And we've taken it further than any animal. But even in the animal kingdom strength of the group plays a huge role. We've just understood better what it entails. Claiming that war is not human would perhaps be denying us humanity in a sense. We are the only species which can wage systematic war and does it, because we're an intelligent and emotional species. Also are you saying politics and civilisation are not undoubtedly very human? An expansion of what is found in animal kingdom coupled with intelligence and long lasting memory.
Nope that's a compound. denying war is human is like denying that the Kardashians are part of the United State's culture(which they are)
the problem is that I'm using the word human from a Derridian angle and you're using it literally.
This set of photos is both beautiful and horrifying. I'm just... wow. I can't find any words for this.

Conceptual terms like 'territory', 'politics', 'currency' and even 'property ownership'. It's a shame everyone can't just drop their weapons and uproot the society that brainwashed them into believing that picking up weapons was ever the right thing to do.
seems like a pretty good trade off
If there was no America we would still be stuck in the pre-american revolution era.
If there was no America we would still be stuck in the pre-american revolution era.
right because the existence of america was essential in order to continue time
If there was no America we would still be stuck in the pre-american revolution era.
What?
If there was no America we would still be stuck in the pre-american revolution era.
Because you see America made electricity. And the Telephone. And also America invented science and all of the advancements in human history.
I've always wondered what it'd be like to die in a fiery explosion; the last things you really see, that one millisecond of the blast that fills your vision All I can say is at least those that died perished in an instant, no pain or suffering...
None of this would even be necessary if not for scum like al-Assad and his kind. If only it were possible for people to see their true quality before it's too late.
Wait, did the tank just leave?
Because these things had no chance of discovery/invention outside of America.
the joke your head
If there was no America we would still be stuck in the pre-american revolution era.
This is probably one of the dumbest things ive read on here.
