I agree, if they want to use something to show how cops suck they should use real evidence, like police corruption. Or police bending the rules because they know that the court will just side with the cop anyways. Or when cops bust into innocent peoples homes without a warrant. Or how police specifically don't recruit people that did the best on the police test. Two dogs getting killed by SWAT members in a drug bust is just the tip of an iceberg if you look at all the stuff that the police do. Also go see J Paul's post.
I don't have a good enough motive to search for a truth in what you two are saying, but it sounds complicated and answerless.
What the fuck, who the hell do those police officers think they are. What drugs was he selling anyway, I saw it said marijuana but is that all?
It does not matter how sweet your fluffy wuffy pitbull is, and it does not matter what breed the dog is. The dog is a threat, and they had no way of knowing how secure the cage was. In fact, if it was so nice, why was it in a cage to begin with? Contrary to your belief, pitbulls also have some of the most powerful jaws and the strongest necks, and have been known to break bones through armor.
Major threat huh?
i felt so sad when i heard the dog whining
welp not gonna get involved with drugs if cops can mess up this badly.
You see, the thing about this bad intel the police receive is that it's bad. It is simply false and has no basis in reality. This means that someone could give the police bad intel about you at any time regardless of whether or not you had really been involved in any drugs, and this could very easily happen to you, because they will have to act just as they did in this video and treat your situation as if their intel was correct in the process of verifying it. It's as if you're guilty until proven innocent, and nothing I've seen concerning law enforcement leads me to believe otherwise (except for the claims of law enforcement itself, but they're obviously not to be trusted). That's the worst part about this. All the pot I have at any given time will only get me a fine in my state, so I never have to worry about prison time. But regardless of that, regardless of any facts, this could happen to me at any time and I am powerless to prevent it. Knowing this makes me feel pretty unsafe and wary of the police.
a few facts that bother me a few ounces, yet some idiot sent in a warrant were SWAT was "needed" they shot a dog in a cage (i have a pit bull, my friend has one, there nice dogs, when there not trained as killers) and a dog that has legs shorter than 7 inches from my bet.... my ideas for them 1:get repeatedly kicked in the crotch 2:get sued for half of there money each 3:face a small amount of jail time at best

He might have had enough for a blunt or a few bowls. Maybe enough for a joint for him and his wife were planning to smoke the next morning. A few ounces would actually be a substantial amount in police standards and the raid would have been considered a "success". As it stands, though, being there was only a few grams, all we have are a bunch of hopefully embarrassed and ashamed police officers. But I doubt they have any shame.
I swear if someone shot my dog I would kick their ass and shoot them! I don't care who they are.
Upon second viewing and reviewing all the facts, I'd chalk this down to poor training. Risk/Threat assessment is supposed to be a key skill of SWAT officers, even under duress. Also, some very overweight officers in that video, standards seem to be dropping with SWAT teams all over the place in recent years. Entry was slow, etc. Does anyone know much about the funding of Columbia PD?
The sound of that dog yelping is probably one of the worst sounds I've ever heard.
I don't see what's wrong with shooting the pit bull, caged or not.
I don't see what's wrong with shooting the pit bull, caged or not.
police aren't allowed to engage unless it's a threat a dog in a cage is not a threat
Oh well.
Oh well.
thanks for that well thought out and contributing post.
You're certainly welcome, sir. Also, you know, people make mistakes. Everybody here is freaking out and wishing death upon the policemen, but that is unbelievably extreme and unnecessary. He probably didn't mean to shoot the dog.
but corgis are adorable :smithicide:
OH SHIT IT'S A HAIRY ALLIGATOR SHOOT IT What a wimpy cop, can't restrain a foot tall hot dog and a cage.

That is true, these policemen should be punished for their quick and thoughtless actions.

Corruption.
I believe that many elite police factions are trained to shoot dogs as they are often trained to attack - however, if one of the dogs was clearly caged, then it was a complete overreaction by the Police and indicates that they need more training.
I am usually one to back up law enforcement action. But I find nothing to agree with here at all. First of all - a caged animal is not an active threat. Looks like someone needs to go back to school and learn use of force again. Secondly, the second dog shot - dude, if it's small enough that you can nudge it away with your foot, then leave it alone. Seriously. I highly doubt that little thing would even be able to chew through your gear. Once more. Someone needs to go back to training in use of force. What's next, SWAT going to shoot cats? Iguanas? Pathetic. I had a hard time watching that video, hearing that dog yelp and watching this family be terrorized over VERY poor police work. My reaction was anger and disgust. I hope the solid facts come out soon. Because if this is all true - then I hope the family sues...and wins.
Fuck the war on drugs so hard. So fucking what if he was a drug dealer? What the fuck happened to personal freedom? I hope the asshole who shot the dogs is stripped of his job.
oPPRESSION AGAINST PIT BULLS HAS TO STOP
wouldn't have cared if they even shot a drug dealer. but shooting a caged dog? fuck you columbian police fuck you
the sound of the dogs when they were shot :(
Stupid dog! You made me look bad! [img_thumb]http://www.ohgoodgrief.com/build/Eustace.jpg[/img_thumb]
For men trained to be the best and to have a ton of trigger discipline, they kind of suck. I hope the guy files a lawsuit. Clearly these officers failed. They didn't know the situation they were walking into and they handled it terribly. How can you be so damn trigger happy?

Two dead pets over a little bit of marijuana...
