so you want the police to basically have unlimited power and if they abuse it's okay
Shooting a dog that is perceived as a threat is in no way abuse of power. Maybe you should go to a hospital because your heart should have stopped bleeding by now.
I guess you could say they dogged a bullet on that one.
when the fuck did I say that jesus christ you people just love blowing things out of proportion
shooting a dog in a cage in front of kids = okay and no one should call the police out for it [editline]03:46PM[/editline]
Shooting a dog that is perceived as a threat is in no way abuse of power.
how is a dog that's IN A CAGE a threat?
shooting a dog in a cage in front of kids = okay and no one should call the police out for it
when did they shoot the dog in front of the kid? he was turned the other way and his mother was covering his eyes most of the time.
Caged dogs are NOT threats.
when did they shoot the dog in front of the kid? he was turned the other way and his mother was covering his eyes most of the time.
That was his sister. She looks about 13. And covering your eyes doesn't block out the sound of gunshots and your crying dogs.
They don't deserve punishment, they deserve..
Oh my God.... I am crying.
That was his sister. She looks about 13. And covering your eyes doesn't block out the sound of gunshots and your crying dogs.
oh, well my point still stands either way.
when did they shoot the dog in front of the kid? he was turned the other way and his mother was covering his eyes most of the time.
they were still in the general area, heard the gunshots, and heard their dogs yelping so now they'll probably be traumatized.
The sound the dogs were making... oh my God... they were crying. That is pain... Oh my God...
Oh my God.... I am crying.
Hint, don't watch the news. Lot's of bad things happen on a daily basis.
oh, well my point still stands either way.
Wait sorry you were right, it was his wife.
Whitworth was arrested, and his wife and 7-year-old son were present during the SWAT raid
http://www.columbiatribune.com/news/2010/feb/23/family-questions-swat-drug-search-that-led-to/ My point still stands though.
they were still in the general area, heard the gunshots, and heard their dogs yelping so now they'll probably be traumatized.
traumatized that their dogs were killed? yeah no. the parents would probably explain why the police did what they did, so no trauma would be caused. plus if the father wouldn't get involved with drugs in the first place this whole situation could have been prevented. the cops had no way of telling that he only had a few grams of drugs, so either way they thought they we're going to arrest a drug dealer or whatever, probably the reason they were trigger happy.
What gets me the most isn't that they shot a barking pit bull in a cage or a little corgi in the leg, although that is pretty fucked up, it's that they did all this in a normal family's home, with children present and without any trigger discipline or evidence of the guy actually being armed, which he wasn't. It's all substantiating evidence toward incompetence on so many different levels.
It's also dumb that they burst into his house like that. They had to have known that he had kids and dogs. They do intel on these people before carrying out the warrant. Why not set up outside his house and wait for him to come out alone? Then once he's in custody search his house. They put his family at risk and they could have potentially put themselves at risk if he had a gun and was going to fight.
I'm still not sure, was the dog killed when they entered the house, or was the dog executed after they got that man and stuff?
Oh god I felt so bad when I heard the dog yelping, not much shocks me but I HATE hearing dogs in pain.
traumatized that their dogs were killed? yeah no. the parents would probably explain why the police did what they did, so no trauma would be caused.
yeah, because explaining to children why it happened will just fix any traumatization. a 7 year old isn't going to be able to comprehend a situation like this. I'd say heavily armed police in full gear bursting into your home and shooting your pets and then having your dad be arrested is a pretty traumatic experience, especially for children.
plus if the father wouldn't get involved with drugs in the first place this whole situation could have been prevented.
having some weed doesn't justify how they handled the situation

They'll be traumatized, like I said, if you had something you loved, it was taken from you, and possibly KILLED, Let alone Men in fucking armor with guns barging into your house and immediately doing that.
But Corgis are ADORABLE :smithicide:
i lurve corgis!
reminded me of that movie Letters from Iwo Jima. didn't it have a part where the Kempeitai officer goes to a civilian house and shoots the dog?
yeah I agree that shooting the dogs was a bit over the top, but it's really not something you'd get your pennies in a bunch, and you don't know for a fact that the children were traumatized.
Funny how everyone is in here freaking out about some dogs when on the front page of the news section a 3 year old boy was stabbed more than a dozen times by his mother.
Funny how everyone is in here freaking out about some dogs when on the front page of the news section a 3 year old boy was stabbed more than a dozen times by his mother.
There's nobody playing the defender of the mother who attempted to murdered her son, is there?
Funny how everyone is in here freaking out about some dogs when on the front page of the news section a 3 year old boy was stabbed more than a dozen times by his mother.
And clearly everyone is defending the actions of the mother.
Oh, he isn't dead and he is most likely slightly more traumatized than a child who's dog died. [editline]01:12PM[/editline]
And clearly everyone is defending the actions of the mother.
I just think it is interesting that people tend to care more about animals than people. And you are comparing a police officer removing a perceived threat to a mother stabbing her son, pushing him down a flight of stairs, stabbing him more, then leaving him for dead.
Mother fuckers why did they shoot a caged dog? I COULD HEAR THE CRIES FOR FUCK SAKES.
