This just in: Woman jailed for looking at the sun. More at 12.
Isn't Jail supposed to isolate people who are dangerous to society? (And maybe teach them a lesson)
"I hearby sentence this man to f-" "Yawn.." "Deputy! I want that man arrested for disrupting this court!" "Erm.. I mean he just.. and. Fine."
Wow this is worse than Obama's judge.
I kind of doubt that it was a *yawn* More like a *YAAAAAAAAAAWEAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEUUUU* sir please stop *EEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHUYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW...* and so forth. though 6 months for contempt seems like a lot.

Time for appeal and class-action lawsuit.
That's abuse of power fucking judge should have his license stripped
He should be a licensed stripper?
You know, court cases are (or are supposed to be) open to the public. Obviously people are gonna do what people do and you can't just lock people up for yawning.
Time for appeal and class-action lawsuit.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Class_action Only the guy jailed for six months has a legitimate claim. One person doesn't make a class.
What the fuck. Give that judge 6 months in jail. Also, surely a violation of the 8th amendment?
Wow. I though I'd seen it all. NOW I've seen it all. Honestly this country is getting worse by the second. NOBODY can be trusted in this country. >_>
Six months for yawning seems like a bit of a stretch.
I don't want to know what he would have done about a loud fart.
*Yawn!* *Bzzt!* You want a non-compliance verdict?
Well yeah, it's illegal to disrupt court cases, and it puts you in contempt of court if you do it on purpose. Fucker should've just covered up. Edit: I agree with JohnnyMo, though. The sentence is way too fucking long and he should've just been fined or something.
He shouldn't have been fined either. It was a fucking yawn
Sounds like the judge was incompetent of the court. :v:
Maybe the judge can't yawn, and he/she thought that guy was showing off. there is no way to rationalize this shit.
I just wanna tear that judge's head off. Why condemn someone for an involuntary action like an accidental yawn?
That's absolute bullshit...my dad is a public defender (aka lawyer) and has argued with judges and threatened with less than that
I just wanna tear that judge's head off. Why condemn someone for an involuntary action like an accidental yawn?
I think he was yawning on purpose, which would count as disrupting the court. Still 6 months is a tad much. A fine would have done.
This is the kind of stuff you see in B-rate comedy movies that you think couldn't ever happen in real life. Society is always doing stuff like this, it's funny.
What the christ? What the hell is wrong with people? JAILED FOR YAWNING? :fuckyou:
Good timing.
No fucking way would I let them put me in jail for yawning. Fuck that stupid shit.
I don't know why I cracked up reading that.
lol I live in the area that this happened. You guys don't know the kinds of people these judges have to deal with. Chicago pushed most of the government housing to joliet so alot of the gangbangers and drug dealers moved out here. I went to a day of court and there was a guy there on drug charges and he was wearing a jacket with pot leaves all over it and they're like "how do you plea?" and hes like "not guilty". Thought that was a bit ridiculous
No fucking way would I let them put me in jail for yawning. Fuck that stupid shit.
I'm pretty sure that isn't really up to you to decide.
6 months is still harsh, disruptive yawn or not.
Wow, abuse of powers..
