As I was saying in Skype earlier... 9 is a lot uglier to graphically represent. 10 is more logical of a choice. Easy to make as a graphic, but it can also represent the digits of binary.
What the hell kind of a reason is that? Not only were they fine with having the number nine in their OS name twice but the shape of an individual letter or number is not something the design department is going to cry over.
Well, in Nvidia's case, the leftmost number indicates the generation, while the second and third number indicates level of performance I.E a 580 is faster than a 550. A 750 was designed more recently than the 580, but is in a much lower performance-tier, and is in fact slower
No shit, but then they sometimes just skip numbers or add even more numbers. Like how they are skipping 800 series and going to 900. Or how radeon just jumps around.

Or how radeon just jumps around.
They technically didn't, they just decided to make the 800-series laptop-exclusive for some reason. Much like how AMD made their Radeon HD 8xxx series laptop-exclusive. AMD's not really jumped around randomly recently, either. XXXX = Generation XXXX = Performance tier RX XXX = Performance tier RX XXX = Different levels within the tier One may call the sudden leap from "Radeon HD 7xxx" to "Radeon HD RX XXX" random, but, eh.
for all it matters, the xbox 360 is in degrees, 360 degrees in radians would be 1 so the xbox 360 and the xbox 1 are the same name in different measurement conventions
Dude, I think you failed calc.
Technically Windows 10 is Windows NT 6.4 (8.1 was 6.3, 8.0 was 6.2, and 7 was 6.1). Although with how fucking stupid some Windows developers are, you never know.
Windows MEME was my favorite operating system version.
Yeah, it identifies itself as Windows 6.4 on windows update services, whereas Windows 8 was 6.3. It's a number, and it's bigger then 8. What's the big deal? Besides, saying win10 with an Asian accent is going to be the new IT department joke for the next X years.

You could call xbox 1 an xbox 361.
360 degrees = 2pi radians.
Or just tau radians. http://www.tauday.com/tau-manifesto [editline]2nd October 2014[/editline]
One may call the sudden leap from "Radeon HD 7xxx" to "Radeon HD RX XXX" random, but, eh.
It's not random... they realized that the Radeon 7500 was already a card from 2001.
Cars Windows Corvette Windows Mustang Windows Challenger 11/10 would buy 20 copies.
I've always enjoyed their old codenames. Windows Whistler, Longhorn, Blackcomb all sound great to me.
Hang on I thought this was a joke? Surely they can't be serious. Like, I've written some truly evil lines of code, but who would do a string comparison to work out what OS you're on.
Look in the article, the attached picture is true. https://searchcode.com/?q=if%28version.startswith%28%22windows+9%22%29 Fucking Java Development Kit is in a lot of this So who? Oracle.

So, Linux developers. Oracle are still shit though.
Pretty sure this is a joke.
