The government must be afraid he'll start the 4th Reich. Seriously, sometimes it seems like they think people are 1 swastika away for becoming the next Hitler.

Everyone laughs at the stuff like "Haha Germany can't get an uncensored Wolfenstein!" but that shit is actually kind of scary.

They desperately try to get hold of anything related to that part of history. But World War 2 happened quite a while ago and the general populace is a bit disconnected from it, it's not fresh in their memories, it's not forgotten of course but it's simply a thing of the past. On the other hand, the divide of germany between communists and the west is a far more common topic and many people experience it first hand.
So what if he does? Honestly, the way Germany treats its own history is alarming to me. I can understand a ban on new-made items of Nazi theme, but destroying bits of that very real history that have survived up to this point -- I don't understand what anyone gains from that.
no "so what", I didn't imply anything, you did. I just stated the known [editline]4th July 2015[/editline] the main issue is not even the guns and stuff, legally speaking. the main issue is that he also possesses quite a lot of Nazi art pieces and trade of those has been forbidden since basically 49 and there is just no way he could've acquired some of them legally
Here's hoping it gets put in that bigass tank museum
Yeah, it's a piece of histories (not just the one). Man, if it gets into a museum, they should have it's history of being in the guy's possession as well as the history behind that kind of tank.
"Goodentaug neighbor, just put to get a pint and a bit of sausage!" *crushes neighbors gulf* "Woops"
That would admittedly be a real shame... plot twist, the raid was indeed about his nazi art pieces and they just happened to discover the tank in the wake but media doesn't report on that
Preparations for greece i see
Preparations for greece i see
if we continue what we did up to now we'll lend them the money to buy the tank from us
if we continue what we did up to now we'll lend them the money to buy the tank from us
The value of an original panther is, if I had to guess, starting at $3,000,000 for one in a reasonable condition. It would hardly surprise me if it fetched twice that though.
i don't know or care it was a jab at greece buying so many weapons from germany
That so needs to be taken to the War and Peace revival show this year.
im heading down to that this year for the first time! mostly do the Military odyssey at Maidstone every year
I'd imagine its going to end up in a museum somewere close-by. They can't really sell it as it would look unprofession & the previous owner of the tank wouldn't see any of the green from the proceeds. Bad publicity.
I hope they'll give the tank and the flak88 back to their owner and if, sadly, it doesn't happen, the Münster panzermuseum will acquire them.

The first time was best, the second I was volunteering to herd 5 year olds around. I'm going again this year, it is great to see all of the things there, I think you will enjoy it!
