Why Canada instead of one of the other Scandinavian countries?
Canada has a more stable economy currently than those in the European area. They'd also base their decision on who they trade with, and the stability of the economy.
Today I learned 'loonie' is a term for the Canadian dollar
Just the $1 coin is called the loonie.
Right, we don't say "I have $2000 loonies", we say "I have $2000 bucks". However "I have $2000 moose" is also accepted.
I really hope Iceland accepts this deal, their current currency is dropping like shit.
Wow, we're letting Iceland adopt our dollar? How is this going to affect the value of the loonie? Won't this mean the economic conditions in Iceland will have an effect on the value of our dollar, or does economics not work like that? Also, I'm excited because our dollar is popular now!
Iceland's economy is absolutely miniscule compared to Canada's. Read the OP, it addresses this issue.
Kind of like how you can spend American dollars in Canadian shops.
I'm not quite too sure about this... I've only ever found one shop that actually took US currency, and even then I had to smooth-talk them into taking it.
Every time I hear about Iceland, I think of Mighty Ducks 2.
no more krona? Does this mean EVE is renaming their currency too?
InterStellar Loonie. It will be worth 127.22x its ISK equivalent.
I live in Canada and wtf is a loonie
Iceland, the 11th Province.
I live in Canada and wtf is a loonie
Is your house a hole beneath a rock
Hmm. Now the party that was organizing the speech is accusing the Governing party in Iceland of being behind the speech cancellation. Seems the Governing party are the only party in Iceland that supports joining up with the EU. It seems that switching to the Canadian dollar would go against those plans. Still, it would be pretty awesome if Iceland adopted the Canadian dollar.
I live in Canada and wtf is a loonie
Would you believe it is exactly half the value of a toonie?
Would you believe it is exactly half the value of a toonie?
Though double the value of a roonie.
;34969581']I wish we over in the US would switch over to one and two-dollar coins. We've been steadily getting the one dollar coins out there, but not enough. Also, it's been my experience in Windsor and London that most large businesses won't accept US currency, but small shops do. In the US, or at least in Michigan, Canadian coinage is accepted usually, but never paper money.
I live in windsor and can say all fast food places accept america, as well as most stores I've been to
