But like everyone in this thread has said; the school does nothing when it comes to bullying. They'll probally tell them to stop doing it and get a detention, but that's it. My dad always told me that If someone ever tries to pick on me, I should punch them straight in the face. That way, even if you get beat up, the bullies will still think twice about picking on you because they know you'll stand up for youself. I've never actually been bullied. I mean, of course I've got the odd name calling, etc, but for anything that would be classed as bullying, it's never happened to me. I remember when I was 12, some kid in my class pushed me into a bush and laughed at me. I got back up and just kept punching him in the face until I got pulled away by a teacher. No one has ever tried to bully me since.
Which is why I would then attempt to go to the police. It would then be put onto the school because they aren't taking responsibility for their students enrolled, so they would be forced to take action. I was told the same thing, and that's what I did. He stopped making fun of me, and it was conviently a month or two before I moved, so I didn't have to deal with his shit anyway. I heard that he started to get made fun of a bit because I punched him. It worked out for me, but I changed schools soon after so it didn't matter. My point is, yes you should have the ability to knock somebody out if they bully you, but you really shouldn't take that route, and I would advise my child not to unless they feel like they have to, otherwise come to me and I'll bring it up with the school, or eventually the police. Bullying is serious buisness.

If you actually go to a teacher and complain about being bullied, you'll get bullied even more and be labeled as a pussy for telling, instead of standing up for yourself. Thus, resulting in even more bullying. I've never actually heard of people going to the police unless it's actully extremely physical bullying (Literally getting puched in the nose and beat up everyday). Will the police actually do anything if you go to them about minor bullying?

I hate how lenient schools are on bullying. If you sit there and do nothing, it often gets worse. If you fight back, YOU'RE the one who gets in trouble, rather than the bullies. If you go tell a teacher or whatever, nothing happens and it usually makes it worse for you. No matter what you do in the situation, you're fucked. Its such bullshit.

But we're americans we gotta role up our sleeves and be tough it grrrrr
bullying is bad- but why can't those affected by it enroll in some damn self defense? I've known many who have done this, including myself. I was bullied and then I spent a few months in some karate shit, and then I slammed my bully's face into a rough brick wall. He didn't bother me ever again.
I was never bullied, but that's due to the fact that I was 6 feet tall by 6th grade.

I've been bullied, oh, once or twice and it was all in middle school, or by kids around that age at least. The first time I just let it happen because it didn't bother me that much, then when the other kid and his inbred friends kept going at it and going at it I punched one of them in the jaw and cracked a couple of his teeth. Never really had any problems after that, really. Then again, I was always a little bit stronger than most of the kids, so why he would even try to start shit in the first place is beyond me. I can see how something like that wouldn't work with one of the kids who still looks like a fucking baby when they're 13 years old, no idea why it isn't taken a bit more seriously. When it gets this bad, you shouldn't leave it to the kid to sort it out any more.
It somewhat hurts to watch that movie. Hopefully she won't get into another bullying situation again. I've been bullied about 5 years back in school (similar to highschool) and it wasn't good. I always tried to ignore them, but that didn't work out - until one day I flipped my shit. I went totally apeshit on them, screamed like an idiot, pushed them around and jumped onto the back of one of the biggest guys of the group and choked him. They finally decided it's better not to fuck with me or push me down the stairs again.
nvm
It is really hard for me to understand how can students bully other students in front of other students. In my country, on any school from private to public, no one can bully another. First i want to say that bullying and fighting is really different. Bullying means someone stronger just for his/her personal desires tries to interrupt other powerless student, but fighting is because some students WANTs to fight, BOTH OF THEM WANTS, no one makes or forces them. If someone tries to bully some student ALWAYS, some other stronger students who is doesn't personally knows the bullied one, comes and helps the bullied one. And EVERYBODY hates students who tries to bully others. There is always someone watching and REALLY READY to help you out on these type of situations. I'm 16 now, and never in my life someone tried to bully me, but 7-8 times i helped some "weak" students when others tried to bully them. I don't know why no one helps other in western countries.
I don't know why no one helps other in western countries.
It's really simple really. Either because they don't give a shit about the person being bullied, or because they agree with what the bully does or because they're afraid that they might get bullied as well if they stand up for the unpopular student. In short, because people are dicks.
What the fuck. What kind of bullying even is this. Who fucking goes around slapping people in the face, pulling their hair and kicking them.
I was bullied since grade school, and it was only until 7th grade when some fucking jock faggot was shoving me around that I finally retaliated. That involved me grabbing the back of his head and slamming his face into a locker. I got detention, and he got a broken nose and a chipped tooth. No one ever bothered me again until high school, but nowadays it's not hard to outsmart bullies and make them look like fucking retards.
I've only heard of one instance of a bully getting in trouble, and it was a week suspension. I do know that bullying is a very common thing here though. Our school district doesn't even give a flying fuck, they normally just say "stop it" to the bully(s) and that's it.
i hate bullyes, wish i could stab them
I think most people including me have been bullied at some point in time. When I was younger I was bullied, but thanks to genetics I grew in height to 6 feet 5 inches. No one fucked with me again.
i hate people, wish i could stab them
seek help
seek help
ok fixed
That would've worked a while ago, but nowadays it just seems that kicking the shit out of a bully in self defense gets you in trouble regardless that no one else would do anything about it.
I got bullied by two young girls who would say some pretty fucked up shit, like "You are retarded just like your brother" and they would brag that I couldn't fight back since they were girls, and because the administration would punish me, since I was 1 grade above them. And then they would get some other kids to follow me as well, and they got a person the do some kind of arm-lock thing so they could punch me without me be able to run away. I went to the principal who said 1. That they can't do anything because I was being bullied outside of the school and 2. That I would get suspended if I fought back. They followed through with their bullying until I couldn't take it anymore and got a photo of them, and gave it to a officer. And then the officer convinced the school that the parents of the bullies would have to escort them home until the school year ended. I thought that they would go to juvy so I didn't get the police involved until they bullied me for 4 months or so, and I didn't want to ruin their lives. I can't believe that the school catered to bullies so much that I had to get the police involved. Seriously, you can barely fight back.
I never been bullied but If i had it would of been stopped right away. Kids need to learn to stick up for themselves.
I had it good I guess. My brother always use to beat the shit out of me so I ended up not taking anybody's shit in grade school. I love my brother.
I didn't watch the vid because that shit makes me too sad, but I was bullied for 3 consecutive years in middle school and the teachers didn't do shit. My dad gave me the best advice and basically just told me to stand up for myself. So next time one of them started making fun of me I shoved the kid to the ground and he completely backed off. They're cowards, all of them.
The idiots actually taped themselves a confession video? Dumb. But none the less they'll receive plenty of bullying from the internet hate machine. Frankly they deserve it. Been bullied before, they never seem to learn their lesson even when I've bloodied them in self-defense and had them nearly expelled. They just either try with more people or go after someone who can't or won't defend themselves.
Frankly they deserve it.
not really. they're minors
I've never really been bullied in school. Probably because I could get angry pretty quickly. I remember once when a girl called me a "jerk" just because I was kiddin' around with a friend of mine (never found out why she said it). For whatever, I just snapped. Within the next 10 seconds, I had called her a bitch and knocked her to the ground. On topic: schools need to focus more on bullying. It seems like they're not really giving a damn about it. A girl that used to be in my class once threatened another girl to kill her. She got one week of suspension. I mean, really? Suspension? Wake the fugde up. She treatened to KILL her. Schools need to be harsher. Much harsher. If I had been running a school, it would be 100% no-tolerance for bullying. Bully someone, get a warning. Continue bullying, start looking for another school.
not really. they're minors
You're telling me that they're not old enough to understand the repercussions of their actions yet? What does it take before you'll say that a minor deserves punishment for their actions?
