Islam is being criticized over some texts in the Quran while Christianity and Judaism aren't being criticized for some texts in the bible, because of a simple reason: In Islam, there are some who use these texts as an excuse for violence, and this happens MUCH MUCH less in Christianity, and even lesser in Judaism (though within Israel there are some crazy rabbis which are turning radical). I would have nothing against Islam if extremists wouldn't use it as an excuse or motivation, just like how I'd be pissed about Judaism or Christianity if they were used as a motivation or an excuse for violence. In short: Religion that turns to violence (even though it's taken the wrong way) = bad. Religion which doesn't = OK.
Yeah, I called him a dunce for supporting the tea party. Also this just in: videos of Muslims dodging questions about their VERY EXISTENT relations to Hamas are now anti-Islamic.
So how has Christianity changed since the Inquisition and the witch trials?
I donnu, have you heard of any inquisitions and witch trials taking place lately?
No because you can't fucking read or comprehend anything that is posted.
I'd have like 50% less contempt for you if you didn't act like you were better than everyone else.
I donnu, have you heard of any inquisitions and witch trials taking place lately?
Doesn't answer my question: how is the religion itself different? Unless there were some major revisions, we can only conclude that it's western culture that has changed, and therefore the relgion can't isn't be blamed for anything. So if all the violence is cultural, you can't call Islam inherently violent.
What the fuck happened to this thread?
I'd have like 50% less contempt for you if you didn't act like you were better than everyone else.
My contempt for you had always been near maximum limits, although it is exacerbated by you saying this as a deflection/ad hominem every time you are wrong.
My contempt for you had always been near maximum limits, although it is exacerbated by you saying this as a deflection/ad hominem every time you are wrong.
so what has Glenn Beck told you to hate next week?

The people aren't using their religion anymore as motivation or excuse for violence, at least not in the way it was done a 1000 years ago. However, in Islam, people still use it to motivate or excuse violence. Again, not like how it has been 1000 years ago, but it's still unacceptable levels. I don't have a problem with the people and their culture, I have a problem with them (some of them at least) using their religion to incite hate and encourage violence.
Dunno, don't watch his show.
wow you should have just said you did, atleast that way it would seem as if you were just an ignorant fool, but now it looks like you're just an idiot
