If you guys really want to know whats inside its pretty obvious.
Troop postions,Special Forces Manual's,Future Target's,U.S. And NATO Ally secrets.
Its pretty damn obvious. Its crackable. But if anyone cracked it. They are going to be hung as a traitor.
yeah totally obvious
in the absence of any information whatsoever ITY MUST BE MILITARY SECRETS
AND WIKILEAKS WANTS TO KILL OUR SOLDIERS
AND THE THEY'RE IN LEAGUE WITH THE TALIBAN

god what the fuck is wrong with you people
i feel like im living during the red scare
Remember in Mission: Impossible, when the NOC list is actually a CIA tracking software?
Yeah, I think that is what this is....
Except it was made by Wikileaks.
Except it was made by Wikileaks.
Its often referred to as a "cover"

and you're basing this on...what exactly?

Never should have posted it.

Somebody uploading a file to the internet, knowing that EVERY hacker in the world would want to be the one that cracks it and opens the file?
This must be the most exciting news ever. Feels like a movie.
Somebody uploading a file to the internet, knowing that EVERY hacker in the world would want to be the one that cracks it and opens the file?
by the time this file is cracked using current tech, humanity will have populated the entire galaxy
If somebody cracks this I'll shit a hole through my pants.
It probably reveals the Illuminati.

no "hacker" is moronic enough to think they can break AES256 encryption

Just like nobody can be stupid enough to think they can break AES128...
Oh wait! They did!!!
Tell someone its impossible to do something, it just drives them harder to do it...

cam you link a valid source of AES128 being cracked?
AES128 can be cracked just like anything else. AES128 is no exception.
AES128 can be cracked just like anything else. AES128 is no exception.
Of course it's possible, but Ridge said it was already cracked. I'd just like a source so I know who did it and how.

:raise: And when exactly did this happen?
The password is "penis"

Me too. You would think that the government would be able to crack these files, and see what it is. And, another thing. Where is WikiLeaks based? If it's America, they could raid their base of operations and shoot them all for treason. They are heading towards being worse than BO. This is stupid, dangerous, crazy, and I'm going to wait the four hours to download the file to try and hack it.

The server(s?) is in Sweden, but they still have a risk of being raided there too.

Of course its not America, why would anyone in their right mind run a site like this in a country like America. Its hosted in Sweden by PRQ (IE The Piratebay's host). I think its run by people based in Sweden as well, or another country which has sensible laws regarding whistle blowing and leaking to the media (They are legally bound to protect the names of their sources and cannot be forced to give them up in any way).
Also you are dumb if you actually think you can get into the file. Unless of course you happen to be some expert in cryptography who happens to be sitting on some sort of unknown exploit for AES256.

Thanks for clearing up the server location. And I have no intentions of trying to crack it. They are not in their right mind, which is why I asked if they were in America. This could give the terrorists what they need to, in theory, plunge the world into WWIII. If they release this information, the world could be a different place.
There are servers in Switzerland, Iceland, Sweden and other places, and the connection goes through them so they can (ab)use the laws of the said countries or something like that (from Assange's TED talk, if I remember correctly)

I think I watched the same talk, they use countries which have laws which favour journalists. They even helped change the law in Iceland to protect the press.
You are all talking about encrypting the WHOLE thing, but how about just a "very" small piece of it? So we can check if this method even works?
If I am misunderstanding something then please inform me!

Would you rather have secured freedom at the cost of a 5-10 year wait on documents
Or unsecured freedom with access to the documents immediately?
