Because no one else seems to be asking anyone from anywhere else.
Wikileaks doesn't ask for the leaks, they just publish them [and, at least in the case of AWL, try their best to prevent the loss of lives with the {very} limited personnel they have]. :colbert:
What about the USSR? OR Russia now? Every country has its secret, the only reason why find out about ours is because everyone seems to only dig through our trash. Instead of their own.
And immensenly don't give a damn still because I don't want to live in the States anymore.
Well if you look on the website it's not just about the U.S, it's about many other governments too.

How would I put a password on/encrypt a folder containing all files from Wikileaks I've saved through time?
Google crypter

Wikileaks is going overboard. I'm really starting to not like them.
My line wan't busy at the moment, so I've decided to load it. Whatever is inside this file, it may be the hell on earth or just some bad rip of avatar. When time comes we might find out.
Why did you repeat yourself?
I'm kind of in the crossroad about Wikileaks.... We have the right to bear arms to keep the government in check, to make the government afraid of it's people for fear of another revolution if they weren't doing what's in the best interest of the people.
Well that shit don't work no mo'
So the next best thing ? What Wikileaks is doing now
but at the same time I don't want to have people's identities revealed, then again if you don't reveal identities then it's almost useless to release anything at all
Why did you repeat yourself?
Heh, should have been more subtle? I'd guess. I'm just pretty sure it will be something that is going to ruin someones day.
You going to encrypt it again?
Who is leaking all this sensitive data?
Who is leaking all this sensitive data?
The Secretary of Defense, obviously.
The Secretary of Defense, obviously.
What if the full uncensored files get in the wrong hands?
This file contains life it self.
Does wikileaks staff have the password?
Tbh I'm scared. I live in the US,so if this puts any part of the world and lives at stake, you'd get rather nervous.
Could it be the uncensored versions of the war diaries?
Its a dead hand switch. If something happens to Assange or Wikileaks, the key is sent to major news outlets and to the main page (if its up at that point)
That's my theory anyways.
Wikileaks will release key to public if government takes Wikileaks down
That relies on Wikileaks having either encrypted it themselves or having access to the key.
Wikileaks could have just been dumped with an encrypted file they can't do shit with and have posted it on the internet to see if anyone can get into it.
Either way it looks like there will be a hell of a shit storm if / when the contents becomes clear.
Because no one else seems to be asking anyone from anywhere else. The only time someone has a change of heart, is when they're shown the truth and it usually takes an outside person to show it, i.e., Wikileaks or journalists.
I seriously just get tired of everyone railing on the US for doing these things. Every fucking country does it, why does everyone seem to hold the United States up to a fucking higher standard?
wikileaks doesn't target anyone specifically. people leak information to them and they publish it. blame the people leaking it, not wikileaks.
I don't want World War III. Neither 'Global Thermonuclear War'.
Don't open that file. There are things which meant to be never released to the public. I don't live in the US, but i'm still scared of the consequences.
wikileaks doesn't target anyone specifically. people leak information to them and they publish it. blame the people leaking it, not wikileaks.
Wikileaks don't have to publish sensitive infomation.
But it is what they do. They want to inform people what their leaders are doing.
I wasn't complaining about what they do, I'm just saying that you can blame wikileaks.
Is it wrong that I want the Insurance to have/wish the Insurance file is a complete, uncensored copy of all the leaks they've released and worked on so far?
Is it wrong that I want the Insurance to have/wish the Insurance file is a complete, uncensored copy of all the leaks they've released and worked on so far?
That would be bad.
Releasing files like this undermines the US military's already tarnished public image, so imo files like this shouldn't be revealed to the public at all and I completely support Assange's arrest, if that ever happens.
It's pretty obvious that the "Insurance" is Wikileaks insurance. If anything would happen to them or their servers, they just tell people the password and 15,000 highly classified US documents are out on the Internet for everyone to see. Since the file is out there already, and is impossible to remove it from everyones harddrives, the US government can't do anything towards Wikileaks without risking all the files being leaked.
Damn, Wikileaks is awesome.
That would only work though if 1. everyone threatening Wikileaks knows what's in this file and 2. Wikileaks still has a way to leak the key.
I'm not sure how feasible this is, but if the US government somehow silenced everyone who knows said key, this wouldn't work out.

They match.
Which means that the same encrypted file is also downloadable by other means! Not that there's a public decrypted version. Because then said checksums *wouldn't* match.

So you support the arrest of an innocent person? He hasn't actually done anything illegal, and is not a US citizen. America can't just go around arresting random people.
I'd rather want it to contain something amazingly shocking surprising groundbreaking new sensitive secret information that will make the shit hit the fan regarding the ME campaign
Why do you all respect Wiki leaks so much, what have they done to benefit anyone? Especially lately?

They do the shit no one else does/has resources to do; Reveal what goes behind the backdoors of the government the people have chosen.
