I hope she didn't have anything embarrassing in her room. It would suck to be a 16 year old girl and have cops searching your room looking for clues about your disappearance and they find a huge dildo under your mattress while your dad and mom were looking in from the doorway.
you seriously read a story about a 16 year old girl getting kidnapped and making a desperate plea for help on twitter and think "haha what if she had a dildo.. man facepunch will love this post"
If she posted this via iPhone, since the iOS6 update you can post to twitter directly from the notification area which is faster than opening up messages and doing it that way
It was tweeted from the iPhone twitter app, not the NC pulldown. Just checked, NC gives client of iOS, app gives Twitter for iPhone [editline]blayzd[/editline] what is dumb with this post it is a purely factual post lacking any opinion which i know is required in sh but still

If you shouted at them "I called the cops asshole" or something similar, there's a decent chance they might bail. They also probably know you are in the house anyways, so hiding won't do you much. Then again, they might not give a shit and just run after you anyways. It would probably depend on their motive. This is why bedroom doors need locks.

It would depend on the weapon he/she had+their overall strength of course.
you seriously read a story about a 16 year old girl getting kidnapped and making a desperate plea for help on twitter and think "haha what if she had a dildo.. man facepunch will love this post"
She was kidnapped? I read that she made a strange post and people are looking for her, I didn't see 'kidnapped' mentioned anywhere.
She was kidnapped? I read that she made a strange post and people are looking for her, I didn't see 'kidnapped' mentioned anywhere.
so do you click threads without actually reading the title or what
People who don't know the facts, and pull 'kidnapped' out of their ass, don't count. When cops say she's been kidnapped, then she's been kidnapped. Until then, for all anyone knows she just ran away.
Someone allegedly breaks into a person's house and that person is now missing. Excuse me for assuming that it's within the realm of possibility that she was kidnapped. Especially since an amber alert was issued for her and amber alerts are "issued upon the suspected abduction of a child" WOAH WHAT A WILD ASSUMPTION

Has it been confirmed there was a break in? I think a lot of people in this thread are leaping to conclusions, possibly due to the excitement of this being a twitter oriented story.
Has it been confirmed there was a break in? I think a lot of people in this thread are leaping to conclusions, possibly due to the excitement of this being a twitter oriented story.
Nah this news article is for shits and giggles you know
yeah that would suck i mean the kidnapping and stuff would be bad of course, but having the cops find your huge dildo under your mattress is just so much worse :|
Perhaps you're on to something...... clearly the kidnapping must be connected to the case of the lubed dildo on a plane!

I know I did! She's probably just hiding under her bed or something (with her dildo according to you)
Has it been confirmed there was a break in?
Has it been confirmed there was a break in? I think a lot of people in this thread are leaping to conclusions, possibly due to the excitement of this being a twitter oriented story.
Read the article you idiot.
Has it been confirmed there was a break in?
Perhaps you're on to something...... clearly the kidnapping must be connected to the case of the lubed dildo on a plane!
please do not make jokes about that case, the perpetrator is still at large and possibly terrorizing the continental united states
How you gonna refute an official police report?
Well, I'll be back tomorrow morning to see where this story, and thread, stand. We should know by then what is fact and what is a bunch of people posting any rumor they read.
Well, I'll be back tomorrow morning to see where this story, and thread, stand. We should know by then what is fact and what is a bunch of people posting any rumor they read.
Well, reading the source now, this was posted in her twitter and then promptly deleted. [thumb]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A4GAygwCUAAOtIt.png:large[/thumb] Can't make heads or tails of it. Also I can't understand what the heckfuck is happening, now the own source contradicts itself.
Clark police chief Alan Scherb said there were no signs of foul play at Kara's Hall Drive home. "There was nothing disturbed inside the home," he said.
[editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Might be a misunderstandment on my part, they didn't 'fight' inside, but the home was still broken-in.
She would've had to say something, I imagine.
In France if you call any emergency service and don't say anything or just whisper "help" then they will locate your call and send people there. Isn't it the same in the US ?
have any of you guys considered that she may have both tweeted and called 911
I thought the article would have mentioned that
Now my twitter explodes with photoshops.

In France if you call any emergency service and don't say anything or just whisper "help" then they will locate your call and send people there. I've never been in a situation that called for it.
I believe that's the case on landlines but I think cell phones require a trace or something first? I could be wrong. I've never been in a situation that called for it.
Landlines supposedly get detected instantly due to the telephone subscriber line being in direct connection with a telephonic hub I'd guess. I think triangullation is for cellphones.
