Landlines supposedly get detected instantly due to the telephone subscriber line being in direct connection with a telephonic hub I'd guess. I think triangullation is for cellphones.
That's what I figured. And we don't know whether or not she was within reach of a landline or knew this fact herself.
More and more households are skipping landlines, and even then, not very many people know the instant landline 911 transfer

[sp]your edgeworth picture and way of writing makes this feel a lot like an actual AA scenario[/sp]
Has it been confirmed there was a break in?
I think a lot of people in this thread are leaping to conclusions, possibly due to the excitement of this being a twitter oriented story.
Did she even exist? As far as we know all this is just speculation. :downs:

I love you too, okay?

Now it's sounding more like fanfiction
most of my friends don't have landlines; with cell phones, why bother?
i sure wouldn't bother dialing 911 on a cell phone if someone threatening broke into my house
i sure wouldn't bother dialing 911 on a cell phone if someone threatening broke into my house
people assume dialing 911 teleports the police into your house. honestly i don't think cops are superheroes. all you would be able to do is say 'help' or something if the intruder was already in your house.
Damn, this is some Taken movie stuff dude
Just waiting on Liam Neeson now
and then not to mention a bunch of coincidentally creepy ones now that she's MIA
"Am I dead"
"helpppppp pic.twitter.com/q5OKpa0K"
"waiting for this phone call is like death"
and then just weird ones
"there is no word in the english language to describe how sick I am right now sooo I'm just gonna say I'm sick as fuck balls shit nigger dick"
"almost blew the house up. but it's all gud"
Sounds to me like 4chan got in.

And you don't even know if they would be able to get there in time either. I mean, hell, she could have done everything everyone in this thread suggests: called 911 on a land line, told them her full name, address, etc., and yet the kidnapper could have found and captured her within 2 minutes of her making the call, thus rendering any attempt of the police to find her futile, as they would be long gone by then.

Indeed. The police would've taken time to respond to the actual call and there would've probably been very little difference even if they'd been notified instantly. Travel time would vary between 5-15 minutes and that's plenty of time for the intruder to make their escape with her.
For those of you who are curious, E911 Phase 2 is what would be used. Upon receiving a request by a PSAP, the telco has to provide a latitude and longitude accurate to 300 meters within 6 minutes of that request. Most carriers in the US will get these via GPS, but triangulation can also be used.
In other words, there's still a good chance of a significant delay in even getting location from the call before any emergency services can be dispatched.
That image is like something out of a fucking creepypasta

If she truly was kidnapped, it could be a photo out the window attempting to give information about her location.
Using skype would've been smarter even if you couldn't call 911, you can still chat with your friends and tell them to call 911. Tweeting literally does nothing but waste time.
It gives police a timeline

What if you have no followers?
It's pretty obvious it was sent from a phone, most likely an iPhone, knowing how shitty it's auto correct is. Only an iPhone could turn "house" and "call" into "hour ecall".

Only a girl in total panic for her life, with someone in her goddamn house could turn "house, call" into "hour ecall"
I know we're past the point of discussing why she didn't just call 911 herself but isn't it standard procedure on the 911 line to send in the cops/fire department/ambulance if you don't respond?
Let's face it, she was a disagreeable individual who probably made plenty of enemies and is probably dead now .

I'm sure that if you went missing, you'd be fine with people assuming you were already dead just because you're a bit of a dick
She just made it up to hoard followers and retweets
I'm sort of skeptical about her having been kidnapped in retrospect. Running away is the kind of stunt a 16 year old would pull, and being kidnapped is the perfect excuse to evade punishment.

Be that as it may, you can't disregard this because "she's 16 lol".
She could very well be getting raped at this very instant, finding her is of the utmost importance.

Did I say I was disregarding it or that I don't think she needs to be found? I'm saying that it's completely within the realm of possibility that this is a huge publicity stunt on her part. [sp]If so, it's working.[/sp]
