The trees in the nursery look uprooted. Assuming they are still there after the 2nd hit can they be replanted?
The trees you saw in the nursery are planted in either big 45 gallon+ pots, or they are wrapped in burlap. We usually have them planted in homes before they even get a weeks time at the nursery. Some palms are planted though, and they won't be going anywhere soon... The real danger is the limbs falling from the pine trees surrounding the area. Which have been weakened by a lightning-started fire a few years back. My house is located about a mile behind that nursery, and surrounded (as you can see) by pines...

Holy fuck, stay safe east coasters.
If you haven't gotten out of the evac zones yet, it's almost time for natural selection to kick in... Get out. If you aren't in an evac/flood zone, then stay indoors, and prepare for your generic thrill ride, circa 2004.
Can a mod edit the title to include "Get out of Florida" or something to that effect
Can a mod edit the title to include "Get out of Florida" or something to that effect
"It shouldn't take a hurricane to make you evacuate Florida"

Damn, this storm is going to be some heavy shit. I'm hundreds of miles northward, and well out of the forecast track, and even so I'm still making basic preparations - car fully fueled in case I need to evacuate, and stocked up on non-perishable food and water in case the power is out for an extended period. I'm surprised that, after Katrina and Sandy, there are still people too stubborn to evac when they're staring down the barrel of a cat4+ hurricane.

Everything in Florida is specifically engineered to handle this exact scenario. Unless you risk flooding because you live on an island or have to cross bridges, you are really not in too much of harms way.

Random poster here, rooting for you guys being hit by the storm. Stay safe over there.
Thanks OvB
Anyone that's still over there, good luck and godspeed to you.
Heard reports from some people on the SpaceX facebook group that a lot of the Cape Canaveral infrastructure is not designed to take a category four storm. Probably going to knock out American space launch abilities for some time. [editline]6th October 2016[/editline] Here are the current Wunderground maps for those not wanting to go find them: https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/atlantic/2016/Hurricane-Matthew

I remember the last time they got hit with a 2 or a 3 and the panels from the vehicle storage building were MIA.
Well im finally on a bus outta here with my cat, good luck to those staying in Chatham.
SCAD Savannah evacuated early today but I went up to Atlanta yesterday. I'm really glad my dorm room is on the top floor of a building that's almost entirely concrete. Also a good thing to come out of not bringing my car down yet. I do hope people are safe in but from the looks of things it'd be pretty dumb if you were to stay.
So it hit us about 2.5 hours ago. Power went out a few times then completely out for two hours. Winds were really strong, but maybe only 60 I'd guess. Not as bad as wilma yet. It hit basically like 20miles north of us I think. No noticeable damage in our yard or on the street so far.
I heard both sides of interstate 16 out of Savannah were made westbound for the evacuation, shits crazy.
We did that for Ike and Rita. Our interstates got permanent gates on them now where they can swing them open and let it all flow one way. Pretty surreal if you're heading into the shit. (Brother had to pick up dad from airport) An hour drive to the airport was 30 minutes. An hour drive home was now 6 hours. Rita was like the walking dead. Traffic was so bad that a whole ton of people were stuck in their cars when the storm hit.
I had a chuckle at this [vid]https://puu.sh/rAjj3/9cdfac53b1.mp4[/vid]

Traffic wasn't too bad until I got close to Atlanta.
Some guy is livestreaming from evac zone on twitch, he is planning to stream whole hurricane sitting outside https://www.twitch.tv/ice_poseidon
To all facepunchers in any area getting hit by this storm, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you all make it out safe
Some guy is livestreaming from evac zone on twitch, he is planning to stream whole hurricane sitting outside https://www.twitch.tv/ice_poseidon
of course a retard like ice posidon would do this
Jeez, that sounds almost apocalyptic. Hope any south-eastern FPers and their loved ones get their asses outta there safely.
they always give the worst case scenarios for everything.
they always give the worst case scenarios for everything.
I don't really have a frame of reference seeing as the worst storm Ireland's ever seen managed to knock a guy's hat off and not much more.
they always give the worst case scenarios for everything.
Because if they didn't, and it turned out to be the worst storm of the century, they would be held accountable for not warning people.
Pretty soon we should be getting a little taste of the wall I think. Or maybe a little north of us.
