On a more serious note, I doubt most of these people would still be donating food if weed wasn't in the picture.
Duh, everyone needs some incentive to donate. Whether it's a warm fuzzy feeling or tax credits or a free joint.
Duh, everyone needs some incentive to donate. Whether it's a warm fuzzy feeling or tax credits or a free joint.
You can guess which one I think they're going for.
You can guess which one I think they're going for.
who fucking cares why do you get to judge people? you have no position to do so.
You can guess which one I think they're going for.
I don't have to guess...it said so in the article. :v:
why do you get to judge people?
Because I'm capable of judging. Sorry for having opinions.
Then I deem you a narcissistic ass.
You can guess which one I think they're going for.
Just because they gained something for free doesn't mean that was their reason for donating. They are medical marijuana patients, they already have the money for weed.
Then I deem you a narcissistic ass.
As is your right as a person with your own individual thoughts.
Just because they gained something for free doesn't mean that was their reason for donating. I'm sure some of them are really good people who just happen to, for lack of a better word, need marijuana, but I doubt most are being truly charitable.
Then I deem you a narcissistic ass.
I think it's funny. He is stating the obvious as if it were a bad thing.
weed stinks
As is your right as a person with your own individual thoughts. I said most. I'm sure some of them are really good people who just happen to, for lack of a better word, need marijuana, but I doubt most are being truly charitable.
It doesn't matter whether they are being charitable out of feeling generous or out of desire for free marijuana, it matters that they gave food and that the food is going to a noble cause. It's like a school holding a silent auction or other fundraiser. The people showing up aren't buying the shit out of some generous feeling of giving to the school, but the school still receives money.

If you ask me, if you need some sort of physical reward in order to be charitable, it stops being charity and becomes nothing more than a business transaction.

Isn't donating in itself a noble deed? You act like people who smoke pot are evil or something
Well then we disagree. If you ask me, if you need some sort of physical reward in order to be charitable, it stops being charity and becomes nothing more than a business transaction.
No it doesn't. 2. something given to a person or persons in need It doesn't matter intent in this case, the food was given to people in need, which makes it charitable.
Well then we disagree. If you ask me, if you need some sort of physical reward in order to be charitable, it stops being charity and becomes nothing more than a business transaction.
You know why people donate? makes them feel good. That is no less of a reward than free shit.
You know why people donate? makes them feel good. That is no less of a reward than free shit.

I said most.
Then again, we disagree.
You doubt most are truly charitable? No one is truly charitable if you understand that there is no such thing as altruism because every act is selfish, but I'm not discussing pyschology or brain chemistry, you still act like pot smokers are bad people. Your right to, but you just look like a stereotyping ass.
Then again, we disagree.
No, you can't disagree with the definition of a word. That definition wasn't just pulled out my ass. This post is going to have me saying quite a few things I'll hate to say. I'll note them with an asterisk.
No one is truly charitable if you understand that there is no such thing as altruism because every act is selfish,
True enough. When I said "truly charitable," I did mean being charitable in the sense that you do it to make you happy, but when you're doing it for physical or real world gain, it just feels like it dirties the intention behind it. It'd feel like finding out Santa is just doing it for a paycheck on January 1st.*
you still act like pot smokers are bad people.
Maybe I'm coming across badly. I'm not saying that people who use marijuana are just plain bad, and rotten to the core. After all, both of my best (and I'm not using that word lightly) friends do drugs*. I'm just saying that I think that doing pot (or rather, drugs in general) is a negative aspect. It might affect what I think of the person to some degree, but it doesn't outright decide what I think of them.
No, you can't disagree with the definition of a word. That definition wasn't just pulled out my ass.
*I'll disagree with whatever I want.* I can not emphasize these asterisks enough.
Ok, as long as you know that you are wrong you can continue to disagree.
Ok, as long as you know that you are wrong you can continue to disagree.
I'd argue with this, but knowing me like I do, I'd probably say something almost exactly like that if I was in your position.
*I'll disagree with whatever I want.*
There it is. You can't lose one ounce of dignity and admit that you're wrong, because you're just a stubborn kid.
I'd argue with this, but knowing me like I do, I'd probably say something almost exactly like that if I was in your position.
I'm not just accusing you of being wrong, you said you were yourself.
There it is. You can't lose one ounce of dignity and admit that you're wrong, because you're just a stubborn kid.
I sort of just gave the biggest compromise I've ever given towards the weed subculture, so please forgive me if I disagree with you.
i don't know dude you gonna want have that food after you light up
I guess you can say, this was a joint effort.
That's nice! I'm allways telling people, cannabis makes you a nicer person.
I sort of just gave the biggest compromise I've ever given towards the weed subculture, so please forgive me if I disagree with you.
The "weed subculture" thanks you so much for your far more advanced intellect and knowledge on the subject. Fuck you
