Why is everyone supporting flash? I thought you guys were a bunch of open source firefox loving standards fags who of all peopel shoudl recognize that flash is a piece of shit.
Just because we don't like it as much for some things does not negate the fact that it is commonly used.
i hate websites completely designed in flash
The developers of Silverlight don't like Flash, big surprise.
Apple and Microsoft hate Flash, so that means that they have some kind of bond?
The developers of Silverlight don't like Flash, big surprise.
Nobody uses Silverlight.
The developers of Silverlight don't like Flash, big surprise.
Silverlight isn't used for anything major. Though you can make Web OSs on it which is pretty interesting.
Hurr Microsoft hates flash 100 percent because one team of people decided to get their opinions published.
one team on the OS = Microsoft.
So, it's Adobe and Google versus Microsoft and Apple?
Who wants popcorn while we watch them duke it out? :D My money is on Adobe and Google.
Not really, it's all Apple vs. Everyone.
I'd support Google and Adobe anyday. Creative Suite and Chrome have given me more pleasure than installing the latest Microsoft OS.
Come with me. There is something I must show you...

i never tried linux/ubuntu/whatever it's called these days but i doubt i ever will
don't wanna fuck up my computer somehow :v: not to mention i heard about compatibility sucking badly.
anyways, i find flash to be good but it may be startin to get too old. But until there's a replacement for flash where you can do cartoon animations i doubt flash will go down
I can understand the complaints about video, but according to some bench marks, flash is faster than HTML5.
That depends entirely on how the browser implementation. I would suspect Google Chrome to be a lot faster with it's compiled javascript and all.
And I don't see how Google is on Adobe's side. Youtube already have a HTML5 beta and Chrome supports HTML5 very well.
So, it's Adobe and Google versus Microsoft and Apple?
It's the tag team championships of the technology giants... This shall be interesting :buddy:
Mobile era is all about touch interfaces now?
Err... Fucking duh?
why apple won't just make a fucking mouse emulator so we all can be happy.
why apple won't just make a fucking mouse emulator so we all can be happy.
Stop being stupid.
Stop being stupid.
the millions of flash apps would be usable if apple could make some software that would emulate a press as a mouse click
it's all about that nobody would buy their expensive apps if they were free
even the shitty old nokia phones can do that
Microsoft tried to create silverlight, which has went down like a bag of shit, lets all jump on the HTML5 bandwagon.

It's not about mouse clicks. It's about stuff like hovering over something to open up a menu, etc.
Microsoft tried to create silverlight, which has went down like a bag of shit, lets all jump on the HTML5 bandwagon.
You don't even know what Silverlight is supposed to be, do you?
[editline]12:45PM[/editline]
Also, I hope this means we'll start seeing more HTML5 support in IE soon. :buddy:
So its basically, errrr flash hard to make work, i criticize cuz it is dinky
This. A million times this.
Faster, safer, even runs the games and apps most people thought would fail, and a lot of native programs.
Fuck yes.
And it fucks up so bad you have to reinstall if you touch (or even if it corrupts by it self) anything, but the /home directory. It took me about 3 hours to move the /usr folder to another partition just to find out that for some reason the sound drivers stopped working and even after hours of googling I still couldn't find a way to fix that.
Windows is faaar more robust.

Linux is robust, but not against stupid users with too much rights

I thought you were better than this...
