Sony Hacking 2 Electric Boogaloo: 1 Milllon Account compromised, Lulzsec to blame
They still are supplying the people who choose to do that with peoples account information. I mean great job you sure did show Sony but throwing the customer under the bus is not the right way.
If they hadn't released the data, Sony would have easily dismissed the charges of their terrible security.
Obviously it's a terrible situation for all parties involved, but Sony should know better than to not follow basic rules of internet security.
An international corporation that does business and handles millions of user's sensitive account information should be smart enough to encrypt it.
Lulzsec are doing a good thing by revealing how truly unsafe your data is online, and that you shouldn't entrust sensitive information to someone just because they have a lot of money.
Lulzsec aren't directly attacking the users whose information has been leaked, the people who choose to log in and mess with people's accounts are.
Blame Sony, not Lulzsec.
It doesn't matter how you try and swing it, defending Lulzsec makes you a unbelievable moron. Nobody should be defending people who are willing to publish your personal information publicly. If they were just breaking in, and proving to Sony that there are still issues in their security it would make sense. But no, they had to go full asshole and publish the fucking personal information of 1 million users on public websites.
They are not worthy of praise. They should be arrested, fined and hopefully have their equipment destroyed for being such massive bellends. No company deserves to go through this, it isn't fair to the end user, and it isn't fair to the company. No matter how badly they store the data.
So, anyone willing to take bets that someone out there is compiling all the data relating to hacker attacks, (Not just Sony) and slowly using it as a basis for an anti-net-neutrality campaign?
It is probably thinking way to negative and out of the box, but you never know. At this day and age, I doubt anything is impossible.

That is why you take screenshots of the data, blacking out important information. Publishing it just isn't cool no matter what anybody says.
-snip- I feel bad.

I didn't think of this.
I suppose you're right, I hadn't really considered that.
But even if they had released blacked out information, there would still be no proof that the hacking took place unless the data was shown to have been valid?
I disagree that "no company deserves to go through this", I think Sony's extremely poor handling of this data does warrant every bit of criticism and financial repercussions they have to face, though I do agree that the users shouldn't have to fare through this.

Show your methods, show how you got in, and what came up as you went through the process. Only malicious hackers are fucking stupid enough to publish data. There are so many ways to prove you got into the site that don't involve being a cock.

they did show the method too.
they have the link for it on their site
Well, you're right.
Sorry for my above posts, they are admittedly stupid in hindsight.
At least you admit that :buddy:

Facebook is good about account security. Tried one user and pass on facebook and this popped up. It really fucking sucks. If my email and pass was up for everyone to see, it would be the end for me. Glad facebook took the initiative to protect those who were affected by this.
I am not doing anything with these accounts. I just wanted to test one user and pass on facebook and log out right after that. It's not cool what LulzSec is doing at all, and if you get into an account that doesn't have security like facebook, please just log out. Imagine what these people are feeling.

Am I going to get free pizzas and a visitor?
I hope I get both. I get something to eat, and so does my dog.

Yeah, you'll get pizzas. No, they wont be free.
Wow, and PSN just went back online today.
Fuck you lulzsec.
Every time Sony gets some footing and starts to fix itself up some dickhead has to come and kick it in the face.
Greetings folks. We're LulzSec, and welcome to Sownage. Enclosed you will
find various collections of data stolen from internal Sony networks and websites,
all of which we accessed easily and without the need for outside support or money.
We recently broke into SonyPictures.com and compromised over 1,000,000 users'
personal information, including passwords, email addresses, home addresses,
dates of birth, and all Sony opt-in data associated with their accounts.
Among other things, we also compromised all admin details of Sony Pictures
(including passwords) along with 75,000 "music codes" and 3.5 million "music coupons".
Due to a lack of resource on our part (The Lulz Boat needs additional funding!)
we were unable to fully copy all of this information, however we have samples
for you in our files to prove its authenticity. In theory we could have taken
every last bit of information, but it would have taken several more weeks.
Our goal here is not to come across as master hackers, hence what we're about
to reveal: SonyPictures.com was owned by a very simple SQL injection, one of
the most primitive and common vulnerabilities, as we should all know by now.
From a single injection, we accessed EVERYTHING. Why do you put such faith in
a company that allows itself to become open to these simple attacks?
What's worse is that every bit of data we took wasn't encrypted. Sony stored
over 1,000,000 passwords of its customers in plaintext, which means it's just
a matter of taking it. This is disgraceful and insecure: they were asking for it.
This is an embarrassment to Sony; the SQLi link is provided in our file contents,
and we invite anyone with the balls to check for themselves that what we say
is true. You may even want to plunder those 3.5 million coupons while you can.
Included in our collection are databases from Sony BMG Belgium & Netherlands.
These also contain varied assortments of Sony user and staffer information.
Follow our sexy asses on twitter to hear about our upcoming website. Ciao! ^_^
From their latest release.

Fag seems like a complete weeaboo. He's probably too heavy for a forklift to move.
I bet he's completely bullshiting too, a person with info would never be this cocky. If he does actually have this info, he wont last more than a few days.

Basically this is a dickwaving contest. But it's more like a fit athlete lauding over a heavily crippled homeless man that he can run 100m faster.

What the hell are you saying? Have you even heard of Wikileaks.
This is essentially the same thing, except these guys are douches about it.

Except Wikileaks aren't stealing personal information. Which is worth a lot of money and causes a lot of harm to innocent end users. They were published heavily reviewed documents about governmental secrets which have a small effect on anyone outside the document.
I found all the details for the Xfactor contestants on the lulzsec website, send one dude a mail on facebook and freaked him the fuck out haha.

Publishing personal information publicly is cool? God damn you are a idiot if you think that.

This too,
They've compromised Sony's Music Coupon Industry. The biggest benefactor to the worlds economy.
