They never knew that hackers would target anything outside of PSN. Isn't Sony Pictures really obscure compared to PSN?
I've never heard of it till now.
PS4 isn't going to have any games (if this keeps up).
That joke and the console wars were over a long time ago.

I don't have my master's degree in Passwords yet so it isn't my fucking fault I use the same password for everything

You obviously don't understand that not everyone knows to change their passwords to something different.
inb4 this hack is over a few months go by Sony. Fixes the problem another group hacks it even worse and everyone. At Sony commits mass suicided.
'Lulz' is the single most retarded thing to be spawned from the internet.
I'm getting tired of these motherfucking hackers screwing with Sony. It's long since stopped being funny and I can't wait until the FBI tracks down whoever's behind the twitter account and takes him down.
It was never funny to begin with.
Their fucking up the customers more then the company itself in the end.
Why did this all start again?

Well time to replace my locks
I'll make sure my doors, car, shed, and fireproof lock box all use the same key
God damnit, now theyre going to delay the PSNStore even more.
Wish we could ip-track thoose hackers and go beat them up in their homes.
Because a few kids with Python can severely cripple a large, multinational corporation's online activities.
If the published details are to be believed then really a 13 year old could have done it.
I am amazed the passwords are unencrypted and that an SQL injection worked, Sony deserves anything and everything they get in response to this (I mean hate, loss of customers, legal action etc).
Why would you even think to do such a thing?
Friend sent me a link to the release page on their site which has a list of 13,000 working email/password combinations, but I lost it. They're not just "claiming" to have the data, it's been published and is on their site right now.
See, this is where I get pissed. I have absolutely no vested interest in Sony not getting hacked, but the fact that they decided to post usernames and passwords on a public site, for anyone to access, is just wrong. This has reached a point where it is less about trying to incite change and more about trying to prove how awesome they are. As if anyone is really impressed with that shit? I'm angrier right now at them than I am at Sony. If all they wanted was to have Sony improve their security, then all they needed to do was get in touch with someone from the company and show them the passwords they had obtained. Instead, they spread them all over the internet.
They are going to sell the information. I wish I knew the leader of this group so I could punch his fat ass in the face.
What's worse is that every bit of data we took wasn't encrypted. Sony stored
over 1,000,000 passwords of its customers in plaintext, which means it's just
a matter of taking it. This is disgraceful and insecure: they were asking for it.
that car didn't have a lock on it, it needed to be stolen.
Their site is down? DOS-stick activated?

They are now looking at nintendo :ohdear:
EDIT:
We're not targeting Nintendo. We like the N64 too much - we sincerely hope Nintendo plugs the gap. This is just for lulz. <3
oh good

So they're scaring other firms into improving their security now?
Also I hope Sony DID hire those security experts they said they would employ last time they got hacked.

Quite obvious that they didn't hire them, sql injections are so easy to fix, someones jumping off a roof for this mistake.

.....You know what? Fuck it. You guys have the massive high horses because we see stories like this all the time. So you're assuming that most teenagers do to or actually give a rat's ass or know this. What's the problem? You're fucking assuming!
Your entire argument is a massive assumption.

it keeps happening
These Hackers are assholes. Instead of using their skills for good, they are using it for nefarious purpose
These Hackers are assholes. Instead of using their skills for good, they are using it for nefarious purpose
And those type of people are rightfully called Assholes and trust me, the world is FULL of assholes like them.
Do they have any actual proof that the passwords weren't encrypted or are you all taking something said by a group called "lulsec" 100% seriously?
Do they have any actual proof that the passwords weren't encrypted or are you all taking something said by a group called "lulsec" 100% seriously?
I don't think they have any proof of that, they said there was too much data to download, didn't bother to screenshot it or anything, AFAIK.
Wow, It actually happened? Sucks to be them, their about to be fucked by Sony, their probably 12 year old script kiddies.
Just like the first group of hackers were fucked right?
Oh, wait...
that car didn't have a lock on it, it needed to be stolen.
Actually it's more like this.
You park your car in a bad neighbourhood, and it's left unlocked. Expect it to get stolen.
Second-hand PS3s have gone down from £240 to £160 after all the hacking incidents. Shame they got rid of OtherOS, really, I could have had a whole server farm for under a grand by now.
