ITT: We are all old.
Those damn kids and their fancy new doodads. Back in my day we used to have to get our internet from a phone line! It was slow as shit and would disconnect when we got a phone call but THAT'S HOW WE LIKED IT DAMNIT! [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] Bonus if you read it with this voice. I'm less than a year from being classified as an adult. The things I've experienced and enjoyed during my childhood seem silly and dumb now that I am older, but still I can see how kids will enjoy them time after time. My little brother for example when he was around 5 he loved playing snes and nes just as much as he loved ps2 and all the other new shit, just as kids still watch cartoons from the 80s, the 70s, the 60s and even the 50s. Maybe as they grow older, these old "obsolete" things will disappear from their lives but it happened to me and it happened to everyone else no matter what generation you live in.
They'll also know fuck all about the internet. Your kids will scream shittons of old dead memes at you because they find them funny.
They'll also know fuck all about the internet. Your kids will scream shittons of old dead memes at you because they find them funny.
Don't let them online until they're at least 20.
Oh god I remember Dial-up... THE HORROR :ohdear:
They'll also know fuck all about the internet. Your kids will scream shittons of old dead memes at you because they find them funny. If you think that's annoying, my girlfriend goes to 4chan and loves to say "over nine thousand", pedobear and tons of other old memes IRL. :argh: She doesn't even know what "meatspin" or "goatse" is. :/
"I was there during the lolcats sensation! I was there when they shooped da woop! I was there when Mitchell Henderson became an hero! So next time you ask me if u can haz cheeseburger or tell me you're chargin malaysia, remember, I WAS THERE! And that shit just isn't funny anymore."
Only 16 and I feel old. Kids these days are just getting out of control and have no respect for some things.
I've pretty much sworn off all wireless devices unless they recharge themselves at a docking station. Especially all those fucking keyboards and mice that require AAA batteries. I still don't carry a phone though, or a watch. Hell, if I want to know the time I just look at the position of the Sun.
And if it's nightime?! [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] I agree, watches are going to die, I hate wearing a watch. I just get out ma phone
Well it makes sense. We have phones and ipods and everything else that gives us the time. So watches are a dying breed.
I disagree, wristwatches will never dissapear! I don't even need to whip out my phone/mp3/whatever, just raise my left wrist and there's all the info I need.
I'm the only one who uses a watch just to actually read the time. I can't be bothered to take my cellphone out of my pocket. Especially when I'm sitting. "Classy". What the fuck. Avarage joe doesn't want to be classy with a watch.
I use watch for time
well no fuck your shit i have every james bond movie up to die another day on video tape motherfucker and i intend to keep it that way i lose dvds like a bitch. i've watched war of the worlds on dvd ten times max and its already jumpy as fuck motherfucker. what the fuck watches go fuck your shit see this? this is my watch i wear it daily. oh wow i use a fax machine i must be outdated. go die. oh wow plugin phones i guess you're dumb. lol no maybe i don't have a hundred quid to splash out on fancy six hundred foot range phones when i can actually sit and have a conversation with a family member instead of wear my hipster converse around town while using an iphone to tell my hip friend dave about the iPiss 20g with its shitty camera and even worse earphones that apple outsources to a chinese contractor for twenty pence a decade even though we all resent eachother and become 90% technology 9% wireless broadband and 1% human flesh you worthless new age hipster waste of human bodily composition.
Watches are still used a status symbol, I don't see them going anywhere soon.
And if it's nightime?! [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] I agree, watches are going to die, I hate wearing a watch. I just get out ma phone
Lrn2moon. [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] I have a sundial in my goddamn garden next to my birdbath, does that make me old fashioned?
Lrn2moon. [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] I have a sundial in my goddamn garden next to my birdbath, does that make me old fashioned?
Dunno. Why not ask your dinosaur?
I don't see Bieber in that list.
Only 16 and I feel old. Kids these days are just getting out of control and have no respect for some things.
how? why should anyone respect old technology anyways? we are making new shit for a reason, if we just "respected" technology we would have never gone to the moon, we wouldnt have the computers that we take for granted, we wouldnt be able to record music, and we would never have created electricity. technology is progress, you either embrace it and ride the wave or you get swept up by it pick one
well no fuck your shit i have every james bond movie up to die another day on video tape motherfucker and i intend to keep it that way i lose dvds like a bitch. i've watched war of the worlds on dvd ten times max and its already jumpy as fuck motherfucker.
lol learn to take care of ur shit and maybe ur dvd wont break, iv had dvds for years, it's as simple as not leaving them around and having common sense
oh wow plugin phones i guess you're dumb. lol no maybe i don't have a hundred quid to splash out on fancy six hundred foot range phones when i can actually sit and have a conversation with a family member instead of wear my hipster converse around town while using an iphone to tell my hip friend dave about the iPiss 20g with its shitty camera and even worse earphones that apple outsources to a chinese contractor for twenty pence a decade even though we all resent eachother and become 90% technology 9% wireless broadband and 1% human flesh you worthless new age hipster waste of human bodily composition.
hostility towards change doesn't make you cool, it just shows that your mind is becoming incapable of learning and adapting, your an old man already.
i do, like all the time except i don't drive there, i walk.
uphill in the snow?
how? why should anyone respect old technology anyways?
The same reason we respect our history. Or rather, because it is part of our history.
Fuck this, I will always use blockbuster. Mostly to buy snacks though.
I think this is actually some sort of ad deal for smartphones as EVERY SINGLE THING mentions smartphones
I never thought i would feel so old at 23.
Them dang ol' kids ruined our nation, I tell you what. Things were better in our time. [editline]7th January 2011[/editline]
I never thought i would feel so old at 23.
I'm just 16 and even I feel like I just retired.
aaaaaaaaand just watch as solar flares destroy our entire civilisation once people stop using physical media. [editline]7th January 2011[/editline]
I'm just 16 and even I feel like I just retired.
I imagine in twenty years time there'll be a new "generation" every 6 months due to how quickly things change
I'm just 16 and even I feel like I just retired.
I feel like I'm going to die soon, and I'm 16
I am very thankful to my grandfather, who made me respect wristwatches as the classy, useful gadgets that they really are. I don't like having to get my phone out, I often don't even have the right time and date on there. One of the things that I'm sure babies born in 2011 will never know and I'm so sorry for them is Encarta. I reinstalled Encarta 03 recently, and man, it's a world of information. When I was younger I'd just surf it and see all the videos and interactivities. That was great. Wikipedia is pretty cool also, though. PS: While writing this post I actually raised my right wrist (because that's even more classy) and read the time without thinking about it, that was strange.
Hell, hand blown glass is of better quality than mass produced stuff, but hand blown is way more expensive because it is time consuming and requires expertise to make, it's for rich people or people who enjoy the niche.
That's a different ballpart ALTOGETHER. It is not a woman arguing about fake against real handbags.
I will be perpetually stuck in the early 21st century for the rest of my life.
Well it makes sense. We have phones and ipods and everything else that gives us the time. So watches are a dying breed.
No. Watches are fashionable 'n stuff.
Maybe the Amish actually have something :I
Watches will never die for me
