Movie rental stores: You actually got in your car and drove someplace just to rent a movie?
Yes because Lovefilm sucks, Sky Box Office is overpriced. Blockbuster is best.
Hand-writing becoming outdated? Lets be serious, that is ridiculous.
Those whippershnappers.
They'll never know the Fresh Prince. We will hide it from them and have it as a mysterious in-joke. 90's kids 4eva
I still write cursive personally, but a lot of people I know think that writing cursive is for babies and we all use computers now, so we hardly ever have to write anyway. I was going to say I only really write on birthday cards, but I don't even need to do that now thanks to moonpig. wtf where's my automerge?
I understand how CDs may be going out, but Vinyl is coming back.
Maybe only half of this this is true.

If you do not mind.. Smart phones are too much, for a fucking time, Watches will always kick ass, even if they do collapse like the soviet union, I'm sure they will sell them on ebay still, and other internet auction places.
GET OFF MY LAWN YOU DAM KIDS! I still use a pocket watch and hate fucking cellphones.
Reminds me of Wires and cables will never really die until we create a way to wirelessly transfer energy. And postage will always be around until we're able to teleport objects.
Watches? what
But really, why would you need a watch if you have a phone? Does it matter if you spend 3 seconds more into picking up the phone from your pocket to see the time? This is situational too So if you wanna save money you shouldn't consider buying a watch Edit If disagree, tell me why
Hand-writing becoming outdated? Lets be serious, that is ridiculous.
With handwriting you do about 40 words a minute. With typing you can do 120 words a minute.

homogenous societies
Some of this is total bullshit. Watches will still be around. People don't wear watches to get EXACT time. They wear watches to be fucking classy. Books. Yeah, I don't see books disappearing any time soon. Wires? Yeah, good luck with that computer that has no wires and powers itself with a built in fusion reactor. Catalogs? Fuck that, I love getting my IKEA catalog so I can have some nice furniture to admire while I take a dump. All of this stuff is kind of scaring me, actually. What would happen if we were attacked by an EMP weapon. (Not science fiction, EMP weapons actually exist) I'm pretty sure they had an episode of future weapons where they had some prototype EMP weapon, and they said that if a fully functioning version was detonated in the middle of the US at 36,000 ft. (average airliner cruising altitude) that it's blast could successfully wipe out any electronics in the whole United States. (Excluding Hawaii and Alaska) If this ever happened it's like we'd be back in the stone age. No watches? Gonna use sundials? No encyclopedias/books? Good luck getting anything done. Look at all the things on that list. Virtually all of them are only dissapearing because they're being replaced by the internet. All of them would be gone if we were ever attacked with an EMP weapon.
EMPs only affect devices with transistors (older cars would only need to have spark thing replaced ). The US gov has a system of backup devices that use vacuum tubes to insure base communications will still work.
Books? Becoming obsolete? Lolno. Huffington post is retarded, k.
Saddens me that kids these days have no idea what the fuck an NES is.
Also, the internet is not creative or anything this article is trying to say it is. It is a multi-headed monster that grows another 34 heads the nanosecond you sever one. It's expanding because it's eating everything it contacts. It's only a matter of time until 4chan becomes self aware and floods the real world with Meme-robots that it builds by hacking the Military Mainframe and commences with Judgement Day.
It'll be sad to see the old stuff go (not that i believe everything on that list, but some of it has elements of truth) but it also means we get to see exciting new technology replace them.
Books? Becoming obsolete? Lolno. Huffington post is retarded, k.
Have you ever actually used a decent E-reader? Looks like paper, but doesn't weigh 10 pounds like a hardcover, or get mauled by a single reading like paperbacks tend to do. There will always be a place in my heart for my leather bound copy of On the Origin Of Species, but I'd much rather read the damn book on my kindle. The cursive thing is already happening. Half the kids in my high-school forgot or didn't even know how to write in cursive. Hell, I forgot a few letters of it too.
so what do you disagree with most in this story, me, I'm going to say maps and watches, for one, GPSs are unreliable compared to maps, at least if you know how to properly use a compass, and watches, well, I'm in high school and I use a pocket watch, beat that
Let me get my hammer.
Cursive is dead and everybody knows it.
Watches? Oh yeah why would you ever want to be able to glance at your wrist for a split second to tell the time when you can take something out of your pocket, turn it on/take it out of sleep mode and look at a number on that! It's like a step backwards to pocket watches. Pocket watches with covers.

Not that difficult.
The list is quite nostalgic :umsmith:
when I was a boy my internet went kchshskskskskschskseeyakeeyakschschschschschsc [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] you kids have no idea how good you've got it i never got a touchscreen phone until i was 18 years old [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] and we were lucky to have that! [editline]7th January 2011[/editline] i remember when chocolate bars were only one dollar now theyre 100 space bucks
