I have faith that skyrim will be a good game...once the mod community fixes all bethesda's bugs (Psychic guards), bad game balance (level scaling/becoming arena grand champ at level 1), and terrible UI like they did with oblivion.
If you've been following the game at all you would know that Bethesda has addressed and fixed all of those issues and more.
I'm a sucker for pretty box sets. But lets not be hasty here! I already have the digital deluxe.
I always want to, but every time I think about playing Oblivion again, I get really frustrated because I lost everything when my hard drive failed three and a half years ago and I know I could never track down all the stuff I lost and get everything back as I had it before.
Oh wow 30 bux? That's not a bad deal at all considering how much the DLC was. AND collector's edition shit? Count me in.
On the other hand, a while ago I bought the GOTY edition on Steam for $9.50. So make of that what you will.
I would get this, but I already have this game along with the Knights of the Nine expansion. Don't feel like getting Shivering Isles nor the Skyrim coupon. I'll just wait until there's a Skyrim GOTY edition in 2012.
Shivering Isles is awesome, you should get it.
I would buy this but then again I don't care for the extras that much and I already have all DLC. even horse armor
So the fact that Skyrim will be coming out with everything being new actually really helps me, because it eliminates all of those problems. No old save games to try to recover, no mods to try and find again, nothing. Clean slate.
I still have the "making of" DVD and the little lore book from the 2006 collectors edition, but sadly I lost the game disks, will definatly buy this one for old times sake.
If you've been following the game at all you would know that Bethesda has addressed and fixed all of those issues and more.
They haven't released an official patch since 2007. Here is the unofficial patch by the community to fix their massive list of bugs and game issues http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296 And here is the changelog (way too massive to quote) http://baldurdash.org/TESOblivion/UOPFixList.html I've played morrowind and oblivion for years. I love those guys but their games are a little on the buggy side and crash pretty frequently. Even going back to daggerfall look how many bugs and crashes that game had.
$10 Off Coupon for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Not bad. Lets hope Skyrim is not a terrible port like most disappointments these days.

I still have my Oblivion box from when it was still rated T, I believe it came with a map.
Will the coupon work on Steam, that is the question.
I'll get it if the $10 off includes a promise that the leveling system won't be incredibly broken again. Seriously the only reason I stopped playing Oblivion after beating it, seemed if I didn't get +5 in everything I'd die instantly, especially against wisps. Maybe I just sucked at it.
Does this version come with the septum? If so I'll get it, if not. Ehhh I already have the game and all the DLC
I still have the Septim from the collector's edition back when my dad got it. Now I'm not sure whether to get the Bethesda Pack on Steam or this collectors edition. :saddowns:

I got the Steam GotY Deluxe on sale for $8.50- that was a good deal for Oblivion, KotN, Shivering Isles, and all the DLC. The Collectors Edition AFAIK doesn't have the DLC, so its up to you whether or not that's what you'd want in there.
But I already own it :saddowns:
The Septim coin smelled like sulfur and I already got the GOTY Deluxe edition for $5 on steam.
I got the collector's edition for half off since some douchebag stole the coin from the box.
Can't wait to play this horrible RPG again, with quests that variate between "Go to this marker and come back" or "Go to this marker and kill some leveled enemies", Combat that can be described as "wading through water, hitting wet sacks of sand" and guards discovering you stole a fork 30 kilometers away in the subterranean depths of a castle, and throwing you in jail for it.
you're dumb
I got the GOTY edition for Xbox 360, and luckily for me, I was looking at getting the PC version a couple weeks ago. I'll get this one.

I could never get into Oblivion. I never thought it looked as good as everyone claimed it to be. I bought it, played it for a few days, and quickly got bored..the story didn't interest me..
Yeah, it's really overrated and I can't think of any redeeming feature about it other than it was probably the only "big" new RPG out at the time.
Rebuying this: My sister loved this game and she just graduated college. She's getting this and an Epic Meal Time shirt.
Brought standard Oblivion. Brought GOTY: Oblivion. See this package? Couple Weeks Later Brought 5th Anniversary Edition.
One of the best games ever created. I hope Skyrim does it justice. Happy anniversary Oblivion!
Haha, Oblivion one of the best games ever created? Maybe if the gameplay wasn't such a fucking bore.
It's a RPG where you can develop a character. What else were you expecting?
It's a RPG where you can develop a character. What else were you expecting?
A good combat system isn't too much to ask for is it?
I remember buying Oblivion on PC when it came out. Then I took it back because I had no DVD drive. :(
