the smple fact that someone who works like a dog for hours on end deserves more then a banker
No, in our capitalistic economy, they don't.
the smple fact that someone who works like a dog for hours on end deserves more then a banker
Should have been a banker bro. Your fault for picking the job you did. Don't like it? Go somewhere else.
Stop funding the EPA, Amtrak, and the USPS. Environmental Protection Agency does absolutely nothing but try to pass bogus laws that ultimately have little effect on the environment. Our taxes pay for their absurdly high pay, guns, and cars. Yes, EPA agents carry around guns, guess they're going to shoot global warming huh? A lot of tax money is allocated towards running amtrack. Amtrak has not made a profit in YEARS. Cut back on the USPS. The American Government has a monopoly on first class mail and has also failed to bring in a profit in YEARS. Privatizing this sector is simply a better idea for now because the government does not have the financial means to run it properly. and those are just 3. Billions of dollars go into funding these organizations that have utterly failed at being successful.
lets tell are grand children that we didnt stop environmental damage because a few rich guys wanted a new hummer

Second off, the EPA performs and funds a lot of environmental research. For example, right now I'm interning at a lab that gets a lot of grants from the EPA to do research on the upper Chesapeake Bay watershed. Third, Amtrak gets a lot of tax money, but because it's been losing money, we should stop funding it? Talk about losing jobs. How many employees of Amtrak would lose their jobs if they went under because of no funding?
How?
because i like eating food [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
Should have been a banker bro. Your fault for picking the job you did. Don't like it? Go somewhere else.
I hope your joking
I should have said "more people began to enter the middle brackets", it was shitty wording
yea here's how i think of it imagine an ocean, rich people are a yacht, middle class is a barge, and the lower class is a rock if all the boats (or rock) are moving to the right (good), and the current is going to the right, the yacht will reach the other end of the bay in the fastest amount of time similarly, if the current is moving to the left, the yacht will be the slowest one moving to the left, while the barge will reach the starting end of the harbor first (along with the rock) ideally, if the current is going right, a barrier should be placed infront of the yacht to let the barge (and rock) catch up; rather than attempt to sink the yacht
stop acting like your poor because you have no idea what its like by your posts
Oh no you got me, I am actually a multimillionaire. Eat shit you poor dirtbag. (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Benji))
Oh no you got me, I am actually a multimillionaire. Eat shit you poor dirtbag.
I feel sorry for any conservative that had to see that. Dont worry i dont think your all like this
1. I'm pretty sure a wealthy investment banker, for example, isn't providing jobs. 2. Yes, and many poor people work their asses off 60 hours a week and are still poor. 3. "Extremely high"? 35-40 percent on any of their income over $250,000? The rich don't power the economy; the workers do. I'm not an "anti-rich freedom fighter", I just think that those who have had the most success in this country should give back.
1. how many poor people are out there hiring workers and providing the money that pays their bills? 2. the thread is about rich people and their tax cuts. 3. lowest 50% pays 3% of the income tax "The rich don't power the economy; the workers do." -you got me there, i misspoke. but the rich certainly are in control of the economy in the US. "I'm not an "anti-rich freedom fighter", I just think that those who have had the most success in this country should give back. " They do give back, and they give back tenfold. Why should they have to give back twenty-fold because some far left loons think they should have to give 99% of their income to the government?

It is called the U.S. Postal Service for a reason. The government should be giving the money to the research centers, not funneling it through a bunch of bureaucrats with guns. So much money is wasted in the process plain and simple. Why fund a company that is doomed to go under. We are literally throwing away money. You have to cut your losses. Due to the tax cuts, business would expand and more jobs would be available. The government spends money horribly inefficiently.
FUCK. I was hoping that the tax cuts would expire entirely.

Tax cuts on just one side and hopes that the side can help the other side. Yeah right.
The USPS is run by the government.... Our tax money is used to run it. It is called the U.S. Postal Service for a reason.
The USPS is a corporation granted a monopoly over first class mail in the US. They do not receive any money from the government.
The USPS is a corporation granted a monopoly over first class mail in the US. If you work for the U.S. Postal Service, you are a government employee. You work for the federal government.
And speaking dollar-for-dollar, the government is much more effective than an average charity. The American Red Cross, for example, spends $123,700,000 dollars a year on fundraising. Collecting taxes requires no fundraisers. That's $123,700,000 a year that can be directly spent helping people. [editline]7th December 2010[/editline] Source: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3277
Well, the operation of the IRS does take money.
It is a government agency authorized by the United States Constitution... If you work for the U.S. Postal Service, you are a government employee. You work for the federal government.
Yeah, but cutting funds to them would save $0.00 a year.
So that they can buy stuff and help the poor businesses from where rich people buy their stuff from. Therefore it improves the economy. [sp]herp[/sp]
Except that doesn't work at all. What does work is to give poor people a better chance at becoming more productive in society.
Yeah, but cutting funds to them would save $0.00 a year.
Ah, I just found this out. Good point. However, there is still tax money allocated to mail industry lobbyists and a lot of it. And why not remove the monopoly and allow privatized industries to get into the business, thus creating more jobs?
Ah, I just found this out. Good point. However, there is still tax money allocated to mail industry lobbyists and a lot of it. And why not remove the monopoly and allow privatized industries to get into the business, thus creating more jobs?
Privatized businesses are less regulated than monopolies. Lesser regulation = lower quality of service. And I don't want a bunch of other corporations merging into the mailing service to fill up a gap that the UPS once held. Walmart mail? What the Hell?
Privatized businesses are less regulated than monopolies. Lesser regulation = lower quality of service.
Simple solution, regulate the business. Don't assume I'm some hardcore conservative because I think the government sucks at spending money. I'm quite the opposite and it is just fact that the government sucks at spending money.
Ah, I just found this out. Good point. However, there is still tax money allocated to mail industry lobbyists and a lot of it.
Since when does tax money go to lobbyists?
States hire lobbyists, with tax payer money to influence government.
States hire lobbyists, with tax payer money to influence government.
Uh, no they don't. Unless you consider Senators and congresspeople lobbyists.
Uh, no they don't. Unless you consider Senators and congresspeople lobbyists.
Yes they do. It's nothing new. http://www.bellinghamherald.com/2010/08/02/1553077/washington-should-limit-taxpayer.html Take all those small cities and districts and multiply that by 1000. A lot of tax payer money could be saved. Anyways, it's obvious I'm not going to change your mind or anything. Was a fun debate. I'm going to brush my teeth and get acquainted with my bed.
Yes they do. It's nothing new. http://www.bellinghamherald.com/2010/08/02/1553077/washington-should-limit-taxpayer.html
What I see is an op-ed with its only source for those statistics being a libertarian group.
Most media outlets have a biased, can't help that. It's still true that a lot of tax payer money is allocated to lobbying in that way though. It was a big deal in Nebraska a while back. You are a formidable opponent, but I have school tomorrow. I have to get some sleep. Nice debate though.
