Hi-Rez Studios Breaks its own EULA, then proceeds to state no further updates will be made on Tribes

I really enjoyed Tribes. I did a lot of surfing in Source games and so really enjoyed skiing, especially flag chasing/carrying. Plus in the conquest game mode I could easily rack up tons of kills as Technician, the SMG was great.
It's a shame they're letting it die.
I loved the shit out of tribes ascend for the longest time, though hadn't played in awhile.
I stopped playing because after 2 weeks of play I could still barely hit anything.
This.
As much as I bitch about the weapons, this is ^^^ is actually what caused me to leave. The actual base-vs-base team-based gameplay is complete and utter shit. The base design is hands-down the worst I have ever seen in my history of gaming and they are blatantly designed to be dumbed-down and easy to attack. All it takes is one jug at mid or a brute with fractals in your base and everything is pretty much been shut down. I would say roughly 3/4 of the pub games I played consisted of the generator being down for the entire round and nobody even bothered with it because it is a waste of time. When you and your team have put in a good effort to put up defenses and upgrade your shit then it's pretty fucking bullshit when all it takes is a few heavies to ski in and trash the place in under 10 seconds. This was even more bullshit before they added in turret shields because then base assets could be sniped literally from across the map and there was nothing you could do about it.
i jumped in on tribes right after it died, i thought "who would actually play this unbalanced piece of shit :v:" mostly because vehicles were fucking worthless in every way possible, some classes completely destroy everything and anything (one team was literally only either brutes with spinfusors, or techs with their vanilla smg that feels like a broken assault rifle). it was unbearable and made me hate it with a passion.

you can get a massive amount of kills with the tanks if you are good with them.

Grenade Launcher eats them
Anyways I'm uploading current progress on SDK to github right now
Wow that's absolutely heart-breaking to hear about this, it was such an amazing game a couple years back
They def aren't seeing a penny from me again. Global Agenda was a failure (in their own words) but an ambitious failure that was just too much vision for too small a team. Tribes Ascend was really good for awhile but it's become increasingly clear that Hi-Rez just do not care for the games or communities they create after a certain amount of time and move on to the next project. I wish them luck on Smite, they are going to need it in such an absurdly crowded marketplace, but I'm more than likely done with them as a company and so are all the people I know who have been waiting for problems in T:A to be fixed just to hear this.
smite atm is a broken piece of shit game balance wise, and they are pmuch copying LoL down to the letter. characters are barely balanced (and before people jump my ass about "its a beta" supports shouldnt be able to have items that boost their own spells or else you have every character being a carry and no reason for most supports at all). the characters are locked and you either pay real money, or farm for a bunch of games. the only good mobas out there are HoN and Dota. even if they lose some fans from those two, they will definitely lose a bunch from LoL as they are the leading casual moba game.

it's a cash grab

Can't tell you how many times I've been bumped out of a jump by a shrike.
Sucks that this game died, I was getting really really good at going fast.
I played TA during the beta and it was enjoyable once I got the hang of it. Quit it after a while, came back after beta and now it's trash.
altimor give me gold tia
It's stuff like this that makes it hard to support certain developers. EG: I don't want to support Planetary Annihilation, as Uber, the people who are making it, significantly fucked around with, ruined, and subsequently abandoned SMNC.
It was such a good game but they fucked it up so bad with all the full retard classes and weapons which made it completely unplayable
I had so much fucking fun with TA back in the early days. Then I realized it would take hundreds of hours of earning the maximum amount of dosh possible to unlock a single thing. Then they released a shitload of cool/class changing weapons that you basically had to pay to get.
Everything went down hill since :(

uhhh i only have about ~300 some hours logged into ta total and i have everything i wanted unlocked with an extra 1mil exp in the bank which is more than enough to unlock everything else if needed.
if you take advantage of the custom servers with long match times you'll hit the required exp to unlock what you want in no time.

Why do people keep saying these things?
because they haven't played since beta and probably don't know they slightly increased exp gain as well as cut all exp prices in half.

But it's easy enough to understand if they got turned off at the prices at release.
That kinda sucks. I enjoyed the Beta a lot.
I really enjoy this game, although I only ever play team deathmatch. It's a hell of a lot of fun just flying and skiing around the maps.
You'd think people would've learned from Valve that long-time support really pays off.
Hirez is a pretty awful company, this comes as no surprise, they always do the same.
They pretty much ditched Global Agenda as well for Tribes. Then Tribes for Smite. Smite will be ditched for whatever else (GA2 or TA2 apparently)
And it's amazing if you think about it, they make games which are pretty good on themselves, but then they absolutely run them to the ground. I really enjoyed Global Agenda, and Tribes Ascend was a really refreshing and fun FPS. Sadly it wasn't so refreshing for my pc, as it spountaneously burned while I was playing that, so I'm not touching any other hirez game.
I hope they don't ruin Smite. Smite is the first MOBA I've actually been able to play decently.
Though really a lot needs balancing at the moment.
Github for this is up in the reddit OP if anyone's interested
Honestly, I found this game to be the most fun during early open beta/late closed beta. When every class had like 2 primary's and there was plenty of teamwork. Compared to now where everyone just bumrushes the enemy flag/generator room and hopes for the best.

as true as it is, Hi-rez is a pretty small company from what I gather. They may not have the kind of resources for that
