He got permbanned for no reason at all. He was a good member, and trolling is normally 1-7 days ban. Give ´him another chance.

I hope they don't try and 'modernise' the counterstrike gameplay and make it like that of the Battlefield/CallOfDuty games of recent.

GMod is also getting an engine update and you don't see us going big whoop about it.

I don't think the newsbot should be removed just because people were expecting more, to be honest, if it was something REALLY big, we would've heard it from a lot of sources before hand. A lot of news that doesn't get posted by the other bots gets posted by this one, and he isn't afraid to put up a news post about rumors which may or may not be true, and it's not like he's basing this on some random sandbox discussion. If Valve suddenly put Half-Life 2 on Left4Dead's engine, would you say the same thing? I'm not a fan of CS:S myself, but you can't deny that this is good news to a lot of other people beside yourself. Now, while I didn't see anything involving Zips getting banned, I still think the bot should remain at least. It's not like the president said it.

I can't see anything besides the graphics changing, and to me, that's no big deal. I mean, the graphics are fine at the moment in CS:S. They don't need to be better, imo. Still, it's a refreshing change, and it could be for the best. New graphics makes the game look nicer and newer, but at it's heart, it's still a great game that doesn't need nice graphics to make it great. Plus, I was really quite excited about this, thinking it would be an official announcement or something, and it turns out to be a big fucking rumor. Quite disappointing really. I don't really care about the graphics changing, I just hope to hell they don't change the gameplay.

Ok, there are a number of reasons I call bullshit on this one - 1. The alleged "CS beta forum" was nothing more than a test of the most recent updates by some of the bigger server operators to ensure that the update didn't cause any major errors for players. I have a friend who was in this beta (it was about 4 months ago), and it apparently added NOTHING in terms of actual features to the engine and was only cvar tweaks. 2. How can you deduce such a large amount from the addition (and successive removal) of a single forum? This is going to be lolworthy when somebody from Valve comes along and is like "wut you talkin 'bout? aint no cs beta."

I would have said the same thing about Half-Life 2 being ported to the L4D engine, yes. It's not news, therefor it's not good news. It's some interesting rumors for many, but nothing big.

It's been around for ages, but it's still very actively played. I can imagine the community uproar if they try to change the gameplay, but graphics shouldn't be a problem. The problem is that we all got so excited, and it turned out to not be very big news (at least, to most of us) at all. And, on top of that, it's a RUMOR.

I think alot of people will whine about the new requirements though.

I think any updates to CS:S would be welcomed. Especially if those updates make it easier for a new player to get into it without fearing the crazy fanbase.

As far as I can tell, the only thing Zips has done wrong here is flame, which he copped a ban for. He's since had the permaban removed by Garry, but still has his 7 day ban. No offence guys, but you're all raging because he made a hype news post on CS-Nation and FP just decided to assume it was something not CS related.
