Well this is just fucking dandy.
some beggar told me isohunt.com is still there, what a waste of my penny.
fuck does that mean my torrent of Border-err, my "Linux Distro :downs:" is going to stop DLing?
if the only tracker you use is mininova's then probably, but i'm sure other people are using more trackers for seeding their "linux distros". Just add more trackers, though, the Peer Exchange usually reports more seeds than any one tracker, so you can download with no trackers in theory.
Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck. Just as I was getting into this whole thing. Damn. Of course, the moment I start downloading Linux stuff mininova goes legal. And TPB is blocked in Denmark. Crap.
Why do people still believe that the bay of swashbuckling like minded individuals has shut down? It's just using trackerless torrents now so that I can dl any and all linux distros without the threat of Microsoft or Apple trying to find me and try to convert me to their evil OS's. plus, from what I've seen my Linux distros that I downloaded last night and put onto my iPod this morning dl'd alot faster than with the tracker.
piracy is a crime
Was this the kind of piracy you were talking about? No? Ok.

That'd be pretty creepy, don't you think?
No, now there's that shitty site that makes you download in parts.
Oh shit, not mininova. I definately can't use torrentleech or some private tracker to get my Linux distros now. I guess I'll just have to wait and pray that Mininova come to their senses.

Noooooo my linux distros!
bull shit mininova was my fav place to get my linux distros
linux distros are free dumbshit
Also :smith:
I've been using Mininova to get the latest flashforward episode which isn't illegal since it's on TV anyway.
I've been using Mininova to get the latest flashforward episode which isn't illegal since it's on TV anyway.
That is completely illegal. I do it too, but it's technically illegal. Why TV networks don't use torrents yet is completely :psyduck:
That is completely illegal. I do it too, but it's technically illegal. Why TV networks don't use torrents yet is completely :psyduck:
Not if you get a torrent with the ad breaks still in it :v:
Except unlike real shoplifting, you are not really stealing anything. They do not gain, they do not lose when you physically shop lift, a physical box copy which had to be produced is lost, which COST MONEY. When you Pirate, you just get a software copy which costs no money to produce. You don't take their money and you don't give it either. Why should I pay for games that have no demos, what if that shit doesn't work on my computer? Than I'm screwed. Over here, you can't return games even if they don't even run because of the pirate scare. So no, it's not a crime, if anything it's petty.
lol so because there is no physical representation of the work, it's not worth anything? Even if the programmers, designers, modelers, animators, etc all put hours of their time, energy, and resources into this product, because there isn't a BOX it isn't worth anything? How about all the music, artwork, movies, etc that are pirated everyday? Just because they're digitally distributed means they're worth nothing? Are you three years old?
I have never seen a torrent with ads but would honestly not care if TV companies released their stuff as torrents the same time as broadcast, with ads on them. Actually, why they don't already do this is mind boggling
Nope, discussion of warez is bannable, regardless.
The no warez rule on this forum isn't enforced very well then, when threads like this popup you get loads of angry posts by obvious pirates.
Notice that this falls within the predictions made after TBP closed. Can't really say I'm surprised; a leader in the "business" goes down, others follow because no one wants to use them. I stick with the legit side of things, but I'm sure this will make some people unhappy.
Except that TPB is still up?

Any TV types reading, take note, this is where the money is
Well, I guess I'm going over to usenet now.
all i have left is isohunt
For every one they destroy, 3 more pop up. Like a hydra but with kbs instead of heads.
well at least there's still btjunkie and isohunt.
Good thing I downloaded stuff I want already
Torents are so 2001
hurrr. I have a seedbox which I have seen downloading torrents (linux distros amirite?) at 20,000kB/s. Shit is SO cache.
I don't see why people think TPB is down...I've torrented about 200GB from there just this month...
I don't see why people think TPB is down...I've torrented about 200GB from there just this month...
The trackers is, not TPB.
