My SSD is so ready. [editline]13th January 2015[/editline] At 6MB/s avg download speed it should take a little over 3 hours. I couldn't imagine downloading this fucking thing on DSL.
I mean don't get my post wrong, I'll still buy GTA V to shoot dudes in HD and fuck with mods, but I'm staying away from MP until its not weird and inferior to IV's in every way
until its not weird and inferior to IV's in every way
What?
What?
Weird "Sort of an RPG with PVP but Worse" Style ONLY of Online, where 50% of the people you pass in your car will do a U-Turn to throw sticky bombs at you. Can't change any free roam settings, like turning off cops, Simeon vehicles, or Car Insurance / Bad Sport. Anti Fun Mechanics like getting your car getting impounded, having to pay for your ammo even in deathmatches, and the aforementioned cops Micro-transactions, people can win deathmatches just by being higher level.
Shit, when I read 65GB I did only think of my HDD space, not of Steam's horrible download speeds. It'll take a while to download, especially when it's released and everyone's downloading it. Now I need to decide - faster installation or the ability to let Steam check your content for broken/missing files (after modding it), mmh ...
Isn't it on Steamworks though? Buy retail, install from disk, link with steam, done?

can't wait for the mods, i really hope it has good mod support and tools.
65gb isn't so bad, 1tb drives are cheap and I have TONS of games but have yet to fill it that much however my ssd is 59.6gb tops mother of FUCK
Fuuuck nooo!! ): hype gone.
Or maybe you thought it would be a good investment when your own hard drive fails? Hard drives like to fail a bit you know.
I have an SSD myself, but guess what? I have reused my old hard drives, one for movies only, and the other purely for games and other stuff that i dont care about losing if it fails, which gives me 500gb only for games and 500gb only for movies. I store everything essential and small programs on my SSD, but it's only 120gb since they are still extremely expensive. Or you have a 1TB SSD?
Why is everyone complaining about 65GB of space needed? Doesn't everyone have a 2TB or higher HDD? And unlimited bandwidth internet for $40/month from Netfox? "Oh no, all I have is a 100GB hard drive and 80% of it is already taken up by porn, whatever will I do?" "Oh no, I have a monthly bandwidth limit on my internet and can't download 65GB all at once, it'll take me half a year to install it!" A big purple USB dildo, to harken back to GTA:SA.
Is this a serious fucking post? holy shit
We have to wait two months for what? Fuck! I'm just going to write to them, there is no reason for this at all.
also a special hell for r* for implementing a straight up better passive mode into gtao on next gen and not updating last gen to use it
I like the look of next-gen/PC's passive mode because it actually works, but I'll miss pissing off other players, going passive, and laughing as they desperately try to run me over while I stand behind a tree.
Is this a serious fucking post? holy shit
1tb drives are like under 70$ these days, super cheap and affordable, about the same cost as a video game + DLC. Even if you have a low end PC + can only afford 1 game a month it's EASY to get. it can pretty much store your full OS + double digits of of indie/AAA games of course the idea that everyone can afford that is ignorant, and the idea that bandwidth limits "Don't exist" breaks poes law
God fucking dammit I just pre-ordered it too because it was only a few weeks away.
I have some advice to help you out sir,
What?
have you played gta v multiplayer for more than 3 minutes? it's awful. like, the fun is just out of reach but something just fucking clotheslines you when you're about to get it.
Well, that's a 2TB hd in the post. I thought the release being two weeks away was a little too good to be true, nice to see I have over the recommended specs though.
No way in hell am I going to download that thing, time to go hunting for the disc version
9800gt for minimal? Im impressed. But 65gb? There goes over half my monthly bandwidth. But i think the worse i have seen was age of conan, i bought the game in mid 2008 and it was 30-40gb, that was fucking ridiculous back then.
Ahh fuck yes I fit within the recommended and minimum specs
I've got plenty of space, skim by the minimum spec, but.. I better find this shit retail. (User was banned for this post ("Rules: no speedtests" - Orkel))
180GB left on my SSD and 220Mbps down. That's like, what, a little over 30 mins of downloading? I'm totally ready to experience this shit.
going to be upgrading to an i7-2600k and i already have an R9 270X so I think I should be decent.
i5 4440 and a 970. I just have to hope my psu doesn't shit itself.
180GB left on my SSD and 220Mbps down. That's like, what, a little over 30 mins of downloading? I'm totally ready to experience this shit.
About 40 minutes. For working that out I would like you to lend me your bandwidth. :v:
180GB left on my SSD and 220Mbps down. That's like, what, a little over 30 mins of downloading? I'm totally ready to experience this shit.
220Mbps down how HOW
have you played gta v multiplayer for more than 3 minutes? it's awful. like, the fun is just out of reach but something just fucking clotheslines you when you're about to get it.
I hadn't played online in months, the other day I decided to give it another go. I was instantly reminded why I stopped playing in the first place. I do one mission and I spend more money on ammo than I get from the mission, because for some reason it takes a whole clip to take one guy down. Fuck it, why bother.
Should take about 1.5 hours on my connection, if servers are good B-)
220Mbps down how HOW
Probably got lucky living in an area with a good provider or university network. I personally have a 100Mbps line and this is only because I got lucky and live in a street with an IT business next door. I doubt without that company I'd have gotten this speed and would have to use a 16Mbps line that only can do 2.5Mbps at max.
220Mbps down. That's like, what, a little over 30 mins of downloading?
I hate you
