So my friend wants to run this on their laptop with an i5 3210M. Would that deal with it on minimum settings? It seems borderline because the integrated graphics are about on par with a GT 9800.
No it wont run it.
fuck me my i5-2300 is never gonna survive this
Don't worry, I'm gonna be sitting wondering if my i5-2500k can still survive the pressure. :v:
integrated graphics
No. Just no... It will never even start on an intergrated graphics card
Sceptical over my 760 2GB + i5 4570 + 8GB Kingston Low Level ram running this, but I'm hopeful.
Wasn't expecting to be able to but no chance I'm getting 65GB free on my 250GB SSD.

I am sure it will be sufficient. Really, the performance between your i5, and the equivalent 4th gen i5 isnt that large.
I'm surprised I meet the recommended specs, even if it is just by a hair.
march?
fucking shoot me

You'll be able to run it according to the specs but your SSD is gonna kill you, time to look at 1TB Western Digital Blacks? :v:
Cool, I didn't even need to have upgraded, my previous specs were the minimum. Best part is that it comes out right before spring break, although I'm not sure I want to shell out $60 for a game I already played and beat even if it is the definitive version

Lol I have the exact same specs as you
760 2GB + i5 4570 + 8GB
I also have 250GB... HDD...
why don't devs do what square did with sleeping dogs and let us download high def textures?
280x 3GB OC Edition and i3 3220 3,3Ghz. I should be fine I think?

Your avatar is sooo fitting.
Don't be fooled by the low specs. GTA IV also had low specs but struggled to run even on the recommended settings.
These delays, one after the other, pretty much confirms they're struggling to make the game run well. It's a port, or else they would've finished by now.
You mean ridiculous as in they're quite low?
I would say rather high, my laptop could easily run Max Payne 3 on medium graphical settings, while it is not powerful enough to meet the minimal requirements for GTA V. And we all remember GTA IV, so it may be even worse than that.

GTA IV also determined the resolution of its shadows and reflections by your screen resolution. And that's only one of the optimization disasters that game has.
I'm pretty sure Rockstar learned their lesson and they'll have more employees then just their small Canadian studio working on and supporting it.
welp time to freeze myself again and wait another two god damn months
we were getting so god damn close to see it being released
for fucks sake, man. It better be as smooth as a hot knife through fucking butter on release.
Don't be fooled by the low specs. GTA IV also had low specs but struggled to run even on the recommended settings.
No it didn't, the requirements that were released for GTAIV were asking for hardware that was maybe a few years old. The minimum specs for GTAV only need hardware that's about 7 years old.

I doubt this will be another GTA 4, as they have taken so much time to make the game, but if it is... Actually, if it is, there will probably be no consequences for Rockstar :S
EDIT: If i don't max it on my Intel BayTrail tablet imma rage
heh, it gets released on my birthday.
I thought Rockstar never put a release date. Why is everyone so upset over March? Tbh, I was expecting an April/May release since they have been so ambiguous over it.

Then you just have a really old laptop. The minimum requirements are hardware that's 7 years old. And besides, MP3 came out 3 years ago and was a completely linear game. GTAV is a massive open world game.
God dammit Rockstar, got me excited for January then NOPE. I even was getting paid on the 16th and I was going to save the money to buy this game.

But they did put a release date on it? And its being delayed now....
Minimum is a lot lower than I expected. I'm happy.
Minimum weren't exactly steep for GTA IV either and look how that turned out :)
Funny enough it would take me less time to download than install through a DVD drive. I remember installing Metro: Last Light which I got as a Xmas give and realising this.

Luckily the MP3 guys are working on this, not a small sub studio.
-sorry i'm illiterate-

Because they said back all the way in October, maybe even September, that the release date was January. You can understand the disappointment when you've heard one thing for 3-4 months just for it to be reversed the month it's supposedly going to be released.
I mean fuck they could have let all the expecting masses know earlier than they did. They waited 14 days before the release to say "Nope, two month delay".
Delay not surprising. What will be surprising is if the PC version of GTA Online has mod support. Like, at all. I wouldn't be surprised in GTAO just won't work if your game is in any way modified.
Got a little smile out of this tragedy.
"GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC and will include GTA Online Heists. Online Heists for consoles will be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch."
But i guess i can't really trust Rockstar on that. Yes, i'm enjoying the fact that consoles are getting something later than the PC version, bite me.
It says they're coming to console in the weeks leading up to PC launch i.e. consoles get them first
