You'll be able to run it according to the specs but your SSD is gonna kill you, time to look at 1TB Western Digital Blacks? :v:
Should have mentioned I have a 2nd 2TB drive :v:
Why didn't they just put the release date in March in the first place? It reflects badly on them if they keep pushing back the release and if GTAV is less than stellar, people are going to be pissed because it took so long. Wasn't it originally supposed to be out in the fall of 2014? Also what the fuck, how can GTA V take up so much space? Are they trying to do what EA did with Titanfall?
If the date was back in March in the first place, they'd budget their time accordingly and still hit the delay.
Hoping the huge filesize means super high res textures
[editline]13th January 2015[/editline]
And high quality sounds, can't forget a good soundscape
Hoping the huge filesize means super high res textures
Actually, the game is probably just less compressed.
Actually, the game is probably just less compressed.
those are essentially the same thing
skyrim managed to be pretty huge in game, and be 8GB (11?) without mods or anything, but the textures are god awful. if a developer can forgo compression, why wouldn't they? we aren't living in the days where we have incredibly limited disk space on our gaming rigs
Is the retail version likely to use DVDs? Because 65GB = a lot of discs and PC bluray adoption is pretty low
Is the retail version likely to use DVDs? Because 65GB = a lot of discs and PC bluray adoption is pretty low
Still beats downloading that for many people.
Is the retail version likely to use DVDs? Because 65GB = a lot of discs and PC bluray adoption is pretty low
yeah, probably. i think at that point it would be cheaper to ship out a 68GB flash drive in a retail box
I would say rather high, my laptop could easily run Max Payne 3 on medium graphical settings, while it is not powerful enough to meet the minimal requirements for GTA V. And we all remember GTA IV, so it may be even worse than that.
The AMD/ATI requirements are high and the Nvidia/Intel requirements are proportionately low relative to price and power. As fucking usual, really regretting going AM3+ but at least an upgrade would be cheapish.

File compression, not image compression.
Speaking of the retail version, has it been confirmed/denied that it will include a steam key? Lots of rumours suggesting not
well, rockstar shifted to steamworks since MP3 right? unless they go social club only (which would be a disaster) i don't see why not
well, rockstar shifted to steamworks since MP3 right? unless they go social club only (which would be a disaster) i don't see why not
MP3 retail doesn't activate on steam from what I've read
File compression, not image compression.
image and sound compression is by far the largest portion of compression in any game development cycle
MP3 retail doesn't activate on steam from what I've read
well, probably not then. which sucks
This is what everyone said when the January date was announced.... really, this delay is really insult to injury at this point.
It doesn't become a false statement when they delay it more than once. If they think the game requires another round of polish and optimization before being released then I'm all for it, better than releasing a broken game with two weeks of constant patching afterward.
well, probably not then. which sucks
Max Payne 3 uses Social Club on both ends. When you get the steam version you have to link the game to your Social Club account and it carries over every achievement, saves and stats you have for it.
There is virtually no difference between Max Payne 3 retail and steam.

Make some sort of collectors edition on something ship V on a 128GB drive that's styled after something game related.
Why is everyone complaining about 65GB of space needed? Doesn't everyone have a 2TB or higher HDD? And unlimited bandwidth internet for $40/month from Netfox?
"Oh no, all I have is a 100GB hard drive and 80% of it is already taken up by porn, whatever will I do?"
"Oh no, I have a monthly bandwidth limit on my internet and can't download 65GB all at once, it'll take me half a year to install it!"

A big purple USB dildo, to harken back to GTA:SA.
I'm just... sad.
But hell, I've waited for a good time already, 2 months aren't going to stop me :(

Solid State Drives.
I'm fine with them taking another two months, if it's not finished, it's not finished, I give them a bit more respect for actually taking their time with it and getting it smoothed over, it's really really rare to see shit like this in triple A titles anymore.
Besides, if those are the computer specs they are wanting, it'll be worth it.

Entitlement: The Post.
The beta testing continues.
Guess all this spare money I have is gonna go in march :v:
My pc SHOULD be able to run it more or less...
You know guys 65GB doesn't necessarily mean 65 gigs. It could be 60 or less but they want you to have a little extra space so the game runs at optimal levels.

Because not everybody has google fibre speeds with unlimited internet, shocking

So you just threw out your old hard drive when you bought an SSD?
280x 3GB OC Edition and i3 3220 3,3Ghz. I should be fine I think?
What's with the dumbs? I'm legit not sure because the minimum requirements list a quadcore CPU, albeit at lower clockrate and I know jackshit about CPUs
Jesus christ, my computer is scraping by on the Recommended.
XFX Radeon HD 7870 Ghz edition 2GB
i5 4670 3.4 Ghz quad core
16gb ram
I guess I could overclock my CPU and GPU if needed considering my cpu uses a gigantic coolermaster heatsink.
I've got an i7 2600 cpu so I'm not worried about that. The bottleneck in my system is my graphics card I think which is a GTX 660TI. I'm gonna have to clean up space though.
I've got a i5 2400, 4GB ram and a GTX 760. Get the feeling I could run some settings at max but not all.

Oh shit man, I have been doing it all wrong.
I didnt know this company called netfox moved into my area overnight. A canadian company too wow, they expanded into the US fast!
