People need to calm down. HDD space is cheap as hell and they're probably gonna let you preload the game.
Anyone mind if I bunk at their place for a moment? 65GB jeeze.. Comcast throttles me enough as is.
and they're probably gonna let you preload the game.
If this happens then I don't care about the 65 gig space requirement
To those who complan about the size because of their bandwith: whats stopping you to buy it retail? Don't take it the wrong way, I'm genuinely interested. (especially since around here new retail games are at least 20% cheaper.)
I've got an i7 2600 cpu so I'm not worried about that. The bottleneck in my system is my graphics card I think which is a GTX 660TI. I'm gonna have to clean up space though.
The GTX 660Ti is the lowest recommended card, I wouldn't be worried if I were you.

Just want to make sure though, previous Rockstar titles released on discs had to be activated on Steam, right?
I just want to know what gamebreaking bugs are still left over after all this time. I hate how they're just keeping us in the dark.
What the hell sort of a compression scheme are Rockstar even using for them to even say you'd need to set 60 GB aside? Sure the end result will probably be less, but come on now. Sixty?! 30-40 would be my absolute limit for today's stuff.
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. 60 gigs is nothing for a game this big.
Why is everyone complaining about 65GB of space needed? Doesn't everyone have a 2TB or higher HDD? And unlimited bandwidth internet for $40/month from Netfox? "Oh no, all I have is a 100GB hard drive and 80% of it is already taken up by porn, whatever will I do?" "Oh no, I have a monthly bandwidth limit on my internet and can't download 65GB all at once, it'll take me half a year to install it!" A big purple USB dildo, to harken back to GTA:SA.
Holy shit shut up. You cannot complain that the size of this game is pretty fucking big. No one is saying their hard drive isn't big enough, they're saying this is a big size for just one game.
See you in March And by that I mean another delay
my 500gb hard drive will cry but the other specs are matching, good except for the delay
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. 60 gigs is nothing for a game this big.
Really, because I'd say this has as much content a gta4, or at least a little more with the online assets. 60 gigs IS something for this game. The size of the map doesn't matter when you look at games like just cause 2 and its 10 GB file size.
yeah, probably. i think at that point it would be cheaper to ship out a 68GB flash drive in a retail box
If using Steamworks, the retail version will be a small cardboard fold-over box with a Card-Key inside of it (No discs). At least if it's following the same suit as some other games have been doing it for Steamworks; I have gotten in Payday 2 and NBA 2K15 in that way for the PC copies at work. It's all up to how the publisher decides to package it, but I would say this is the best way.
Now they have no excuse for it not to be optimized. Chances are the specs will change as it gets closer.
Is anyone else confused on why the fuck I need a DVD drive? Who the fuck has those now days?

i7-3770 and HD7950, 16GB RAM. I shhhhhould be fine. I'm worried I won't be able to max it, though. About time I upgrade anyway.

Wonder what multiplayer client it is, unless they are using their own for the MMO stuff.

Just saying.
My ISP only let me download 20gb per month and I'm 1 hour away from nearby store. [editline]13th January 2015[/editline] Kill me please

Wow I'd be able to run it if I had a hd bigger than 60gb
i5 2500k AMD Radeon HD 6850 8gb ram can i run it? dun get specs
I'm totally okay with that delay if it means it's fully optimized and ready when released and not a mess like GTA IV was.
sorry to burst your bubble its most likely they arent taking longer to "optimise it more", its way more likely they got far behind schedule and won't meet deadlines, so the end product will probably be the same regardless of its date
What does recommended really mean ? 1080P 60FPS ?
Good thing I recently got a 2TB HDD. Is it worth it to overclock my Phenom II x4 from 3.4 GHz to 4.0 GHz? Will it make any noticable difference?
Makes me wonder what's broken.
