So you just threw out your old hard drive when you bought an SSD?
Or maybe you thought it would be a good investment when your own hard drive fails? Hard drives like to fail a bit you know.
not so often if you buy good hard drives
Fuck it, I'm gonna buy a physical copy. Might as well, right?
Really wonder why they revealed the delay so close before the alleged launch date, honestly don't think I've ever seen that before
Or maybe you thought it would be a good investment when your own hard drive fails? Hard drives like to fail a bit you know.
Most people still have an HDD to accompany a SSD though unless your fucking loaded and can afford those 1 TB+ SSD's.
Good thing I recently got a 2TB HDD.
Is it worth it to overclock my Phenom II x4 from 3.4 GHz to 4.0 GHz? Will it make any noticable difference?
Probably but Phenom IIs get hot super fast so you better have some very good cooling. Overclocking mine to a similar speed let me run Planetside 2 and BF4 at a somewhat playable speed.
Unfortunately AMD's solution to their low IPU (instructions per unit or pretty much how much you really get per hert) is to just throw more cores at everything.
What GPU are you using? And how much RAM?
Radeon R9 270 and 8 gigs.
My CPU runs at 37C idle, dunno about full load. The PII x4 955 has a limit of 59C before it shuts down so there should be at least some room for it.
sorry to burst your bubble its most likely they arent taking longer to "optimise it more", its way more likely they got far behind schedule and won't meet deadlines, so the end product will probably be the same regardless of its date
Better this than rushing it out the front door unfinished and releasing a series of Month One patches to complete it.
Fuck it, I'm gonna buy a physical copy. Might as well, right?
With my internet, it'll take 2-3 days of uninterrupted downloading to get it. I'm definitely just gonna grab a physical copy from the mall when it hits.
Oh thank god, I won't be getting my i7-4790K and GTX 970 till around March 15th.
I won't have to go through the pain of playing this game on an i5-2320 and a GTX 650TI.
march?! wow, I was so fucking excited for this.
Shit, when I read 65GB I did only think of my HDD space, not of Steam's horrible download speeds. It'll take a while to download, especially when it's released and everyone's downloading it. Now I need to decide - faster installation or the ability to let Steam check your content for broken/missing files (after modding it), mmh ...

Buy both and import the DVD's content into Steam!
Holy shit, GTX 660 is the recommended? Looks like I'll be able to hold out on my GTX 650 just a little while longer :-)
I want it through steam but I don't want to get anally raped on the price and spend half a week downloading it. God damn it.
I am fine with the delayed release. I'd rather have a playable game rather than having an unoptimized, buggy port. What's also nice for me is that it will be released half-way through my final college semester. I better start saving up some money to upgrade my graphics card.
65 Gigs.. You AAA Developers and your uncompressed files, well i guess its time to hit the stores, there's no way in hell that i'm going to wait for hours for Steam to chug a download for this game.
why do i get the feeling that those minimum requirements are just like "yeah you can run it at 1024 x 768 with 5 fps"
Minimum is always an ambiguous term in this regard becaue there's relaly no definition for what "minimum" means
They should really post a benchmark or something from these minimum/recommended requirements, like "30 fps average @ medium settings"

Why medium? Medium is not minimum. I think a good standard for minimum is 720p, 30 fps at lowest settings.
SSD's are cool and all but to completely rely on them is risky and silly, especially in this day and age where games are becoming much bigger. Unless you're rich, then by all means go crazy.
Is anyone else confused on why the fuck I need a DVD drive? Who the fuck has those now days?
I installed my OS using a DVD drive because it turns out without an OS you can't use an OS to install an OS...

What? Just use a flash drive...
Hopefully with my 16 GB of RAM, i7 930, and GTX 970 i'll just be able to play this on ultra settings. And i'm okay with a March release, gives me more time to save up for paying for it.
I hope it has good SLI support, as I'll be running two GTX 650TI Boosts.
"a few extra weeks" that's more like two months rockstar.
I don't mind waiting as long as its a proper port but don't try to sugar coat things, the pc port is overdue as it is.
i hope half of those gigabytes are lines of "fun code" that makes the multiplayer better and not terrible like it currently is on the consoles.

Really disappointed to learn about the delay, especially after a long day at work. But at least I know I'm pretty much set with the requirements. Right now I'm running a 3770K, GTX 970, and 16GB RAM.
At least I now know what I should be aiming for when I build my new computer.
Because not everybody has google fibre speeds with unlimited internet, shocking
I don't have Google fiber speeds with Netfox.
The max upload speed I get when uploading shit to my server with WinSCP is 250kb/s. Download (when updating games on Steam for example) is like, 1.8MB/s, and it's about the same when downloading files or streaming (which I admit is pretty good for streaming)
Did a speed test too:

That can't be right...why the fuck is my upload speed so shit on WinSCP especially when I have the Speed (KiB/s) set to Unlimited? Takes me a fucking hour to upload 911MB.
