• FBI: We need wiretap-ready Web sites - now

The NSA already has had the Windows OS back-doored since Win95 OSR2 uptil now (Win7) even though MS denies such a thing exists. Why cant they ask them? The FBI is supposed to be a local agency right? It has no jurisdiction over-seas, so how can they request for such? Read somewhere that there is a US policy that all exported communications hardware and certain software should have "backdoors" that allows US govn agencies easy access. About the FBI worrying about Chinese backdoors on cheaper/counterfeit CISCO routers: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread350381/pg1 Microsoft and Skype set to allow backdoor eavesdropping: http://procardbodybuilding.com/forums/f39/microsoft-skype-set-allow-backdoor-eavesdropping-1916.html
If you actually read the article you would see that the FBI would still require warrants. This is making sure that if the FBI provides a warrant to wiretap a Skype call, the same way with phones, they would be able to wiretap it.
I don't even know how they'd manage to do that, Skype uses specific servers to locate users, but after that the communication is purely user to user. So the FBI wants the ability to either redirect connections to their own servers (easy to detect), or the ability to view arbitrary data flows through the internet.

The biggest problem is the requirement of "back doors" in the programs which is a huge security risk and terrible precedent for the government to start.
But we already have several in there.
Yes and there just is not much room left in this nation's tight little asshole.
Holy jesus the FBI are fucking retarded, invading our privacy so they can do what now? Seriously.
Some law needs to be made to protect the internet against laws/shit like this
The security issues this raises are insane. The backdoor they want mandated will make pretty much every website that handles user comms about as secure as a screened in porch. Just...no. Don't do it.
Really... Fuck off FBI, you acquire warrants like you always have. You don't need access to everything everyone says to track specific people. And you especially don't need the developers to build in back doors so you can access, or take over their network whenever someone says something you don't like.
Technically speaking - they plan to continue using warrants. The problems they say, that they have trouble obtaining information with the warrants. So they want a change in architecture so that when they have the warrant, they can use it.

Oh, hello Big Brother.
Haha just imagine Obama : Ok, so do we have any more intelligence on Al Qaeda or what their next plan of action is? FBI : NOPE, BUT PEOPLE ARE DOWNLOADING VIDEO GAMES ON THE INTERNET WITHOUT BUYING THEM
At this rate it'll just be easier to turn the internet off and just pretend it didn't exist and only fleetingly mention it to our grandkids.

USA is wants to be the new CCCP? And FBI wants to be the new KGB?
Plough yerselves FBI, the internet is a nation of its own and wiretapping is a declaration of war.
So if they make a backdoor for let's say Google, then they will see information about people from different countries too. Fuck off FBI.
